Privacy Policy for Spooky Evictor

Spooky Evictor is developed and published by Jan Ionescu. This document explains, in plain terms, what happens to information when you play the game. The short version is that nothing leaves your phone, but the sections below spell out the details so you can verify that for yourself.

Our Approach in One Paragraph

Spooky Evictor was built as a self-contained game. There is no login, no user profile, no server that the game talks to, and no company receiving data about you in the background. Whatever the game needs in order to remember your progress is written to the phone you are holding, and it stays there.

What the Game Stores

The game keeps a small amount of information on your device so that it behaves sensibly between sessions:

  • Your in-game preferences, such as the options you adjust in the settings screen.
  • Items, progress markers and other saved entries you create while playing.

This information is written to the local storage area that Android reserves for Spooky Evictor. It is not transmitted anywhere, it is not readable by other apps, and Jan Ionescu never receives a copy of it.

What the Game Does Not Do

To be explicit, Spooky Evictor does not:

  • Collect personal information such as your name, postal address, phone number or date of birth.
  • Ask you to register or sign in.
  • Read your contacts, photos, microphone, camera, location or call history.
  • Build a profile of you or your behaviour.
  • Sell, rent, trade or otherwise monetise information about the people who play it.

Why the Locally Saved Data Exists

The only purpose of the stored settings and saved items is to make the game work the way you left it. When you reopen Spooky Evictor, your options are still applied and your saved entries are still there. There is no secondary use: the data is not analysed, aggregated, exported or repurposed in any way.

Outside Companies and Software Components

There are none. Spooky Evictor contains no third-party software development kits of any kind. Specifically, there is no advertising component, no analytics component, no crash reporting component and no account system integrated into the app. Because no outside component is present, there is nothing inside the game capable of sending information about you to another organisation.

The game also makes no use of any advertising identifier.

Disclosure to Others

Since the game does not gather information in the first place, there is nothing for Jan Ionescu to hand over to advertisers, data brokers, affiliates or anyone else. No disclosures of user data occur, whether commercial or otherwise. In the unlikely event that a lawful order were directed at us, we would have no user data to produce.

How Long Information Is Kept

Your settings and saved items remain on your device for exactly as long as you choose to keep them. You are in control of removing them, and you can do so at any time by clearing the app's storage through the Android system settings or by uninstalling Spooky Evictor. Either action erases the locally stored content permanently. Because no copy exists anywhere else, deletion on your phone is complete deletion.

Young Players

Spooky Evictor is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly gather information from children. As the app collects no personal information from anyone at all, no child's personal information can be received, stored or disclosed through it. Parents and guardians who have questions about the game are welcome to contact us at hedleyrohwersl19996@gmail.com.

Keeping Your Information Safe

Security here is largely a matter of architecture rather than policy. There is no database of players to breach, no transmission to intercept and no credentials to steal, because none of these exist. The locally stored settings and saved items are protected by the sandbox that the Android operating system applies to every installed application. We do recommend keeping your device updated and screen-locked, as that is the practical layer of protection for anything stored on it.

Rights Under the GDPR and the CCPA

If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the General Data Protection Regulation gives you rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability with respect to personal data held about you. If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act gives you the right to know what personal information is collected, to request its deletion, to opt out of any sale or sharing of it, and to be free from discrimination for exercising those rights.

We honour all of these rights. In practice, they are satisfied automatically: Jan Ionescu holds no personal data about players of Spooky Evictor, so there is nothing to disclose, correct, port or delete on our side, and there has never been any sale or sharing of personal information to opt out of. The data on your device is already under your direct control. You may still write to us with a request or a question, and we will respond.

Revisions to This Document

If the behaviour of the game changes in a way that affects your privacy, this policy will be rewritten to describe the new behaviour and the date at the top will be updated. Continuing to use Spooky Evictor after a revision means the revised version applies to you. We encourage a quick look at this page after a significant update.
