There was originally going to be a Squidward robot battle. Although this never happened, there is concept art that you can unlock and one of the pieces depicts what the battle would've been like. The robot Squidward would've had big tentacles that would attack you and you'd have to press switches which would drop rocks on top of them. The robot battle did however get ported on the Game Boy Advanced version of the game. The rehydrated version of the game does feature the Squidward robot battle.
If you press the cruise bubble and bubble bowl buttons on the same frame whilst walking against a flat wall, Spongebob will enter into a state where he slowly moves forward even if you aren't tilting the control stick at all. If you go against a flat surface in this state, Spongebob will slowly drift either right or left. Slightly tilt the control stick in the opposite direction and press both buttons on the same frame again, and Spongebob will move forward much quicker. This is known in the Battle for Bikini Bottom speedrunning community as a "Cruise Boost".
The game opens with the theme song and with SpongeBob outside his pineapple before pressing the start button
The Xbox port has improved graphics.

my son likes its he is in kindergarden and i think good for young kids.
This game is difficult and I don’t think it’s really suitable for kids. There is no clear direction and I even struggled playing some aspects of it
I bought the game simply because it’s a co-op. But the co-op piece sucks - there is only one tiny map where you fight as a team for no goals or rewards. The single player part is great though.
The game arrived a few days late but it was no big deal, Amazon actually gave me a $7 gift card towards my next purchase BECAUSE IT CAME LATE!!!! that was a very nice surprise btw THANK YOU AMAZON! ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG WITH THE GAME IT SELF
Are you worried your child spends too much time on computer games?? As an Elem. School Counselor for 17 years - I heard this a lot! But remember that "Child's Play" reveals passion within! We don't even know all the types of jobs that will be available to kids today - but computers will be a big part of most of the work they do. They also need to have ability to "Find out how the games work" without too much help, which means exposure to many platforms and games. Limiting the amount of hours a day a child is on games is important!! But know that they are preparing for their future in almost any career in the future!
My kids play this game all the time.

Don't buy the switch version
Very fun and faithful to the original game, however, wouldn't recommend the switch port, the frame rate on certain levels makes the game borderline unplayable both in handheld and TV mode, the multiplayer mode is fine but nothing to write home about. Overall would recommend on xbox, Ps4 and pc but not the switch.

Quite a good game
I brought this game for myself (an adult) after having a spongebob game as a child. I find this game rather difficult and tedious though and I’ve actually stopped playing it after getting stuck. A young child would definitely have difficulties even getting past the first level. 100% a brain puzzler however it is a good game if you like a challenge!

Why is it sooo hard???
You would think a product designed for kids would at least allow you to get out of the first level! It’s tedious and extremely dull- I can’t locate the 5th spatula so my 4 yo ( I know it’s for slightly older kids but I figured it’s SpongeBob how hard could it be? He has managed to get through Mario Odyssey just fine), is stuck on the first level and extremely frustrated- there’s way too much narrative for a kids game and what’s happened to Mr Crabbs’ voice?? Total waste of money.

Mr crabbs what have they done lol
Its a great game im realy enjoying it, looks great and plays great. That being said there are a few problems with some character voices, mr crabbs and mermaidman sound awful, nothing like the proper characters.
