“Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta” star Spice sent shock waves through social on Aug. 6 after uploading a clip of her and her son Nicholas Lall Jr. apparently being held by cops for allegedly speeding. In the recording captioned “Racial profiling is real,” the proclaimed Dancehall Queen is seen asking why she was stopped.
Spice said as she addressed one of three officers, “What is the speed limit? I wasn’t even driving fast.” As the video continued, the “So Mi Like It” singer then goes over to a female cop who apparently is trying to detain her son and says, “Hello, what y’all do? Hello, lady, lady, he’s 14. What y’all do?” The clip shortly ends with Spice arguing with the three purported police officers as Lall looks into the camera.
As the recording appeared to go viral, many fans and celebrities voiced their concern for the star and her son’s safety. At the same time, others mentioned that this clip may be a scene from Spice’s upcoming music video. One particular thing that pointed in that direction was the officers’ attire, including the unidentified female cop.

In the initial video, the female officer is wearing black high-heeled boots and leather pants, while her hair appears disheveled. Depending on what county and class an officer is in, the uniforms may vary , but the standard ensembles are their assigned shirts, black issued trousers, black shoes alongside other necessities. In regards to grooming, both males and females are to have their hair kept neat and not interfering with their headgear.
Although Spice never confirmed nor denied this recording was for an upcoming video, it wouldn’t be a surprise to many, because the star is known to push the envelope on issues that she’s passionate about.
Back in October 2018, Spice uploaded a photo that made it appear that the star bleached her skin in hopes of drawing attention to colorism within the black community.
Weeks later, she presented the purpose behind that controversial image by sharing a lengthy caption alongside a photo of her sitting on a throne. “On October 22nd I posted a picture of myself where I looked like I altered my appearance and metamorphosis to match the Eurocentric beauty standards. I fearlessly addressed an issue that has been swept under the rug and boldly took the stance in bringing a taboo topic to the forefront. I chose to do this in the manner I did because I believe colorism is plagiarizing our Black community.”

Grace Latoya Hamilton (born 6 August 1982), [1] known professionally as Spice , is a Jamaican dancehall recording artist, singer, songwriter and businesswoman. Referred to as the " Queen of Dancehall ", Spice is recognised as one of the most prominent dancehall artists in the world. [2] [3]

Beginning her career in the early 2000s, Spice had her first major success with the controversial single "Romping Shop" with Vybz Kartel in 2009. She subsequently signed with VP Records , and released her debut EP, So Mi Like It (2014), which was preceded by the single of the same name. In 2018, she joined the cast of VH1 's reality television series Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta in season seven, after appearing as a guest star in season six.

Spice's first full-length project, a mixtape titled Captured (2018), was released independently and debuted at number one on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart. Her long-delayed debut studio album, 10 (2021), was nominated for Best Reggae Album at the 64th Grammy Awards in 2022.

Grace Latoya Hamilton was born in Spanish Town , St. Catherine , Jamaica and raised in Portmore . [4] Her father died when she was nine years old. [5] As a child, she used to attend her church regularly and lead the choir. She had spent part of her childhood living with her grandparents in Finsbury Park , London, where she also attended school before returning to Jamaica.
