SpeakX - Terms Of Use
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and SpeakX (“SpeakX”, “we”, “us”) governing your use of the SpeakX mobile app (the “App”). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. THE SERVICE
SpeakX is a 30-day communication-skills course. It teaches presence, warmth, and delivery through short daily lessons, worked examples, quizzes, and practice exercises, and tracks your progress with XP, levels, and streaks.
SpeakX is for education and self-improvement only. It is not therapy, counselling, or medical, psychological, or professional advice, and it is not a treatment for social anxiety or any other condition. If you are struggling with anxiety or distress, please speak to a qualified professional.
We make no guarantee of any outcome — not a job, a promotion, a relationship, a raise, or any change in how others respond to you. Any figures, timelines, or characterisations shown in the App (including in onboarding and on the paywall) are illustrative and motivational, not predictions or promises.
2. ELIGIBILITY
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, whichever is higher) to use the App. If you are under 18, you should review these Terms with a parent or guardian.
3. YOUR CONTENT AND YOUR DEVICE
• The answers you give during onboarding and your course progress are stored on your device. We do not receive them. See the Privacy Policy.
• You are responsible for your device and for any data loss that results from deleting the App, resetting your progress, or losing your device. Because progress is stored locally and there is no account, we cannot recover or transfer your progress.
4. PRACTICE REMINDERS
The App can schedule local notifications reminding you to practise. Reminders require your permission, and you can turn them off at any time.
5. SUBSCRIPTIONS, RENEWALS, AND PAYMENTS
SpeakX is sold as an auto-renewable subscription through the Apple App Store, in the plans and at the prices shown in the App (currently weekly, monthly, and annual options). Prices vary by region and are always displayed before you purchase.
• Billing: the subscription is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
• Auto-renewal: the subscription automatically renews at the end of each period unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your Apple ID is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the period.
• Free trial or introductory offer: if one is offered, its length and terms are shown at the point of purchase. If you do not cancel before it ends, it automatically converts to a paid subscription and you will be charged. Any unused portion of a free period is forfeited if you buy a subscription during it.
• Manage or cancel: you can manage or cancel anytime in your App Store account settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions). Cancelling stops future renewals; the current period stays active until it ends. Deleting the App does not cancel your subscription.
• Refunds: purchases are handled by Apple and are subject to Apple’s refund policies. We generally cannot issue refunds directly.
• Restore: if you reinstall or change device, use “Restore” on the paywall to recover an active subscription.
• Price changes: we may change subscription prices; changes apply to future billing periods and, where required, only after notice and/or your consent.
6. ACCEPTABLE USE
You agree not to:
• use the App for any unlawful purpose;
• attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or circumvent the App’s security or subscription controls;
• copy, republish, or redistribute the lesson content, or use it to build a competing product or to resell it commercially;
• use the techniques taught in the App to deceive, manipulate, coerce, or harass another person.
7. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
The App, its design, and its content — including all lesson text, exercises, quizzes, and artwork — are owned by us and protected by law. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the App for your own non-commercial use. All lesson text and exercises in the App are our own original writing. All trademarks belong to their respective owners.
8. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
The App relies on Apple (App Store/StoreKit) and RevenueCat to sell and verify subscriptions. Your use of those features is also subject to their terms. We are not responsible for third-party services, and their availability may affect the App’s features.
9. DISCLAIMERS
The App is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any lesson, exercise, or suggestion will produce a particular result.
10. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, opportunity, income, or progress, arising from your use of the App. Our total liability will not exceed the amount you paid us for the App in the 12 months before the claim.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
11. TERMINATION
You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it (remember to cancel your subscription separately — see Section 5). We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive (for example 7–10) will survive termination.
12. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, an in-app notice. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
13. GOVERNING LAW
These Terms are governed by the laws of [your jurisdiction], without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
