Pretty good.There is a lot of repetition for us to remember the fundamentals. You need to come back sometimes and take notes for the lacks of quiz, but he is clear and present aspects with clear bullet points. Good theory, good tips, good presentation.

It provided more than enough. Scott probably invested a lot of time in this course since there is so much material and its really hard to keep up with it. after cca 7 months, im done :D

I tried finishing this course multiple times but there is always something missing , the structure is good and the teacher focus on building forms which is great but there is ZERO anatomical landmarks in this course , I think the work flow is sound , focusing on forms then adding "skin" but there is zero instruction on the skin part or any anatomical landmarks on the body which is shocking to me, how can you learn character design with zero anatomy, am not saying it should be anatomy class but some important landmarks on the body should be mentioned, I'd give it zero stars but unfortunately the least on udemy is 1 star
There's a lot of great stuff in here. Scott breaks down the concepts in a way that's easy to understand.
However, I felt like the anatomy section was really weak and didn't provide a good foundation, especially given the sheer amount of assignments that were included with that module. I ended up stopping this course at that point for a while and taking some anatomy courses from other instructors.
Another issue is feedback. I've posted assignments to the Facebook group and the new Art Community forum, but very little feedback is given. Every now and then a TA will comment, but the comment is usually something along the lines of "Good work" without much in the way of constructive feedback. That lack of critique really lowered my enthusiasm to go through the assignments.
This is a fantastic course on the basics of character illustration, and a lot of general basic drawing principles. I liked the structured nature of the assignments and being able to get feedback on my work. I do wish there were more diversity in body types, hair textures, and facial features taught, but I feel I can apply the fundamentals I've learned to drawing a variety of characters. Overall I'm very glad I took this course (took me a year; I still have to submit my final assignment, but it's done!) and I look forward to doing more courses with Mr. Harris
Scott Harris is a dynamic teacher, he has got the vast expanse of knowledge. his style of drawing is exceptional.
This is an amazing course with an engaging teacher! All the tips a beginner needs to know for a foundation character drawing is here. I for one, do not regret taking this course and am building and using what I have learnt here and am seeing significant improvement in my art already and am so happy. Thank you Scott!
A course that is structured very well with easy to understand terms and applications. It is going to be a great course and guide to keep coming back to as I continue to improve my skills.
Here's my review and experience throughout the course:
1.I thought this course was on REAL drawing paper(There's a pencil shown in the course's photo),but it did not match my expectations as it was done in photoshop,if it had been in REAL drawing paper,it would have been Much much much easier to understand and practice.
2.Since it is presented using Photoshop, you can just make a copy of something and just paste it,its pretty hard to do that on REAL paper.
3.The drawings and the characters were really nice and I even drew some of them!
4.The first few videos were a bit-talky but later,i enjoyed the course.
Harris hasn’t refrained from sharing all the knowledge that one gains from experience, which were the main selling point of this course for me. Brief remarks, important points to note and beginner mistakes to be wary of were aplenty, making this course more than worthy of one’s time.
