When I was a kid, I once felt guilty after having argued and been disrespectful to my parents. The next morning, before school I asked my dad to spank me. He put me across his knee and spanked my bare butt with his hand. We both felt better.

Anyone have a similar experience?

There were a few times that I was going to get grounded for a long time or from something I really wanted to do and I'd ask for a spanking instead. My folks usually would agree to cut the severity or length of the grounding and agree to spank.

No, but would've possibly, especially at school as an option to avoid after school detention.

My parents gave ample warnings before tanning my butt & I knew certain misbehavior would result in my bottom getting paddled or a whipping and those were more at adoloescent & teen years and from dad rather than mom.

I knew one guy at school who went into HS never paddled or in serious misbehavior who wanted to rid himself of a good boy image to be more 'one of the guy.' Set himself up for a trip to the office & got his paddling. He felt it a right of passage or something worth peer approval.

There was a time when me and three of my friends cut study hall and got caught running in the auditorium. The principal said he was not going to spank us because the lady teacher in charge of the study hall had already told him she wanted to spank as we had cut her study hall. She instructed us to come to her classroom after school and she would deal with us then. When we went to her room she gave us all an option of a spanking over her knee or after school detention for the next month. Three of us opted for the spanking and one for detention. We were spanked that very day we opted for it. As I recall, she spanked pretty hard for a lady!

My brothers and I were subject to spanking as long as we lived at home. My older brother figured out that the spankings didn't bother me as much as they did him, so he would agree to drive my friends and me around if I took blame for something he did and take the spanking for him. This only worked if I could pass it off as something I did. If he got in trouble at school there was nothing I could do.

Many of you were fortunate. You traded groundings for spankings. In our home if you earned a grounding it always started with a hard bare bottom spanking. If the grounding was for more than a week we were spanked weekly as a reminder why we were grounded.

Once I got into my early teens (12-13ish), my social life became a whole lot more important to me. Incidentally, my parents began to do a lot more grounding and a lot less spanking around that time. I think they knew that being grounded for a weekend would be much more impactful, at that point in my life, than getting a spanking.

Of course, there were a handful of occasions in which being grounded interfered with something 'big' - a school dance, a Friday night football game, etc. I approached my dad with a compromise that he could tack on additional days to my house arrest if he'd let me just go out that night. No dice, he said. But after discussing it with my mom, he came back and said that I could go out that night - but I'd have to pay for it with a bare bottom spanking (all but a few of my childhood spankings had been given over my underwear, so bare bottom was a pretty big event).

The first time I took him up on this offer I think I was 12 and wanted badly to go to a 'school social' on a Saturday night. I was told by my dad that I could leave the house for three hours to go to the social, but that if I was even a minute late, it would be a bare bottom spanking with the BELT instead of his hand. The spanking would happen the next night - Sunday night - after I'd gotten my homework done, before bedtime.

Thankfully I was not late, so the belt stayed in the closet. But the next night I still received one of the harshest spankings I can remember, with my dad's bare hand. I had nothing more than a t-shirt on and I laid over his lap on my bed... it went on for a couple of minutes, definitely more than a hundred smacks. My rear end was still throbbing when I woke up to go to school the next morning.

Crazy me, I took him up on this offer at least 2 more times that I can remember.

Hi, John,

Your experience reminds me of our eldest son. After he became 12 we stopped spankings when he misbehaved and started to use groundings and restrictions as punishments. It wasn't that these other punishments didn't work but as with you groundings can really cramp your style when you're that age and have places to go and things to do with your buddies at an age when he was starting to get a little more freedom. We could see the resentment over being punished with a grounding that he didn't show after a spanking where he could just get on with his life and move on. After being grounded for misbehaving one weekend and moping around the house complaining about the grounding he asked us "why cant I just get a spanking like I used to get?". We told him the reasons but ended up telling him to go his room and we'd think about it. After discussing it I went to his room and told him he could get a spanking in lieu of his grounding but warned him it would be as before, bare bottom, and it would be a sound one so to think carefully and gave him ten minutes to consider. When I returned and asked him what his choice was he told me he would rather get a spanking to get his punishment over with so he could go out. The spanking was then administered and after a little while to compose himself he was out of the house back to his normal self.

There were two occasions I remember when I did this.

The first I didn't specifically ask for a spanking but I did confess to misbehavior that I would have gotten away with knowing I'd be spanked. I was 8 and had been left at my friend's house for the day being looked after by his Mother who was also a good friend of my Mum. She was quite soft, unlike my Mum and I was cheeky to her during the day and generally a bit of a brat. When Mum came and picked me no report of my misbehavior was made. I guess I hadn't been any naughtier than she allowed her own children to be without being punished. However, I knew that kind of backtalk and disrespect would have earned me a painful trip over Mum's knee if I had done it at home. I felt a bit guilty and then even worse when at home Mum praised me for being good when I knew I hadn't been. It was this that made me decide I had to confess and take my medicine. A couple of hours later as Mum was putting me to bed I'd built up my courage and confessed to her how I had actually behaved that day. I was told off then sent to fetch the slipper. When I returned Mum pulled my pajama bottoms down, took me over her knee and gave me a hard bare bum spanking with the slipper.

On the second occasion I actually asked to be spanked. I was 13 and my parents had started using grounding sometimes. I had a week grounding but on the last day there was a football match that I was desperate to go to with my friends. I first asked Mum if I could go to the match but be grounded the following day instead, she laughed at this and said I should have behaved myself then I wouldn't be grounded. The day before I wanted to go so much I asked Mum if I could have a spanking off her instead of the last days grounding. Mum said she would think about it and a bit later I was called to the living room where Mum said she would replace the last day of the grounding with a spanking but that I should know she wasn't going to go easy on me and it would be the slipper on my bare bum. I agreed and after Mum got the slipper from the draw I pulled my trousers and underpants down and bent over the arm of the couch as she told me. She gave me about 20 hard spanks which left my bum sore and stinging.

I did once when I was 13. I'd scratched my Dad's car when getting my bike out of the garage. For whatever reason my little brother was blamed and I heard he was being taken to my Dad's study to be caned. I couldn't let him be punished for my crime so I went knocked on the door and told Dad that it was me. Luckily I got there before the caning had started. I took my brothers place and was given 12 strokes with the cane.

I got along very well with my stepmom, but she did believe in bare bottom spankings when I stepped out of line. I recall one day during the summer when I was nearly 12 and we had a disagreement over a pair of expensive athletic shoes. She provided good reasons for not purchasing them, but I was still upset and made a few comments that I immediately felt guilty about.

As we drove home form the store, I apologized and asked if she would give me a spanking when we got home. She agreed and sent me to my room when we got home and told me she would be in to spank me after I thought about what I had done for a few more minutes. I waited on my bed with my bare bottom exposed for about 15 minutes when she came in with a belt and layed it on good and hard until I cried. After a mutual hug, the day's events were forgiven.

Was it better at age 12 to ask mom & get it over rather than her tell dad & he whip your bottom?

When you ask for the spanking, you obviously knew she would do it bare bottom, but were you expecting her to use a belt?

It was definitely better getting spanked by my stepmom. My dad traveled a lot so not only would I still get spanked, I might have to wait and think about it for a few days.

As to the belt, that was normal from age 10 on. I got spanked with an open hand or hairbrush before 10.

As to getting bare, yes it was expected. My dad did not pull my pants down, but my mom did so dad instructed my stepmom to spank bare as well.

I was eight years old and not been spanked before, I think all me friends had,

I asked John my moms boy friend to spank me, my mom gave permission, Then John lifted me over his lap and then spanked me through my pants, The spanking did not hurt much then, He then spanked me at least one a week till the age of about twelve

Was it the fact that friends had been spanked & talked about it that prompted you at 8 to ask John to spank you?

Were you ever spanked/paddled at school or was that by then prohibited in your school district?

When I was 11 I asked my Auntie to give me a spanking. I was staying with her for a week and when out shopping I was rude to her and right away felt guilty. Once we got home a few hours later I said was sorry and that I deserved to get a spanking. She agreed that I did and told me to go to my room and wait for her. About 5 minutes later she came in carrying the slipper that I knew was often used on my cousins. She sat on my bed and told me to drop my shorts and pants and get over her knee. I did so and she gave me a hard spanking with her slipper. Although the spanking was painful, I felt better afterwards and enjoyed the rest of my stay.

I was 17 y.o. and in a big mess at school. My mother knew it and she was very very angry. I did not know hoe to calm her down and to make her to forgive me. So I asked her not to take into account my age and spank me with the belt. Afterwords, she forgave me and I felt much better, because I had paid for my fault.

Hey Alex,

Got my last from my dad at 17. Violated an agreement I had with him about driving after a couple beers with my mates. He was more disturbed that I drove than underage beers. Like you said, I too felt better with guilt lifted but he sure tanned my bare butt good with his leather belt.

Was mom the usual disciplinarian? Was the belt the usual implement or you suggested the belt because you messed up more seriously than usual? Willing to relate what y6ou did at 17 that was a big school mess up?

I've hesitated to join this thread because my situation was somewhat different than others who have written in this thread. I had a very unhappy mostly loveless early childhood with my mother and stepfather because he favored his two children and not the one he inherited. I ended up moving in with my father and stepmother -- who was pretty, warm and was the object of all my oedipal feelings. I also when I was growing up in the loveless part of my life noticed that the children whose mothers spanked them felt loved. So, I did things to get my stepmother to spank me so I, too, would feel loved and also get closer to the woman of my desires. Wasn't very successful though it got me birthday spankings until I moved out to go to college.

The closest that I ever "volunteered" for a spanking was at the end of elementary school that was more of a dare and weird fun.
I had been paddled on occasion in elementary school and junior high, the last once in 11th grade. Teachers in elementary and jr high had the authority to paddle a student herself or send us to the principal's office. It was then after that the paddle could be signed by the kid.
At some time during the last week of elementary school in 6th grade, the two classes that made up our "team" of two semi-ajoining classrooms had a sort of "graduation" party together. The other three teams had a similar fun day as well. Every student got called by name and recieved a sheet of paper as an award with what type of kid he or she was like, such as the "Girl who best throws a softball" or the "Boy Most likely to get an A in Jr High math". Every student got something unique. (I forgot what my "award" was.) But there were treats, games and early recess. Lots of fun.
When the class clown and worst behaved kid was called, the teacher gave him a "spirited and class clown" award and that he had 'earned' more tallies by his name on her paddle than any other student. As an added "bonus" he could put one more tally on her paddle and let it also be a "reminder" to behave over the summer and made a joke that his poor mother would need all the help she could get by such a reminder. (This kid really gave our poor teacher a hell of a hard time.) There was much cheering as he proudly agreed and by now had no fear of being paddled, agreed. She gave him two soft swats followed by two hard ones. He was completely unfazed and delighted to put a last tally next to the many already there by his name. She hugged him for being such a good sport.
Of course this led to an unexpected impromptu contest as other students 'volunteered' or were encouraged by each other as a sort of last chance to either sign it for the first time or add a tally to a name already there.
It was also a sort of kangaroo court of silly alleged misdeeds from other students. A line formed of the brave and daring. It was mostly boys who got to put a tally mark next to his already signed name but a few girls who would later take the time to use colorful markers and delicate
