The current line-up consists of Cameron Boucher (guitar/vocals), Adam Ackerman (guitar/vocals), Charlie Singer (drums), and Ryan McKenna (bass/vocals).
Boucher started Sorority Noise in late 2013 with friends as an outlet to explore musical styles outside his work in Old Gray. The group then recruited Ackerman and issued their debut full-length, Forgettable , in May 2014. Much buzz—and tours with rising stars Modern Baseball and The Hotelier —followed, as did a split 7” with Somos and the arrivals of Singer (whom Boucher had played with in Old Gray) and McKenna.
Outside of pure proficiency, one of the more gripping elements of Sorority Noise’s musical direction is the band’s willingness to speak of personal hardships, including the often-taboo topic of addiction on songs like the heart-wrenching album-closer “When I See You (Timberwolf).”

What have the artists said about the song?
Word on the street is indie rock is dead - or at least indie rock made by sad white males is dead. It's certainly felt that way for a while, hasn't it?

“Using,” the 8th track on Sorority Noise’s album Joy, Departed , is about substance abuse and use and its relation to mental health. It explores feelings of depression, but also of overcoming numbness and feeling better.
At a show once, Boucher introduced “Using” with a monologue about how he used to be suicidal and that he wants everyone to know their life has value.

Sorority Noise have canceled their upcoming tour dates following a rape accusation against frontman Cameron Boucher. “Our team is doing its due diligence and looking into the matter as quickly as possible,” the band wrote in a statement on Twitter . “We are looking after Cam and taking him to receive treatment to ensure his health at this time,” the statement continued. “We are sorry to let any of you down and extend our deepest regrets to those affected.”

Yesterday afternoon (April 10), Boucher released his own statement on Twitter , writing, “I would like to firmly state that her accusations are false.” He continued:
I take accusations of sexual violence and nonconsent very seriously.
Since last night, I have taken the time to have honest conversations
with previous intimate partners and given them the room to share if
they had any experiences with me that were nonconsensual or
disrespectful in any way.
Following those dialogues, I can confirm that the accusations against
me are baseless.

The allegation against Boucher was originally posted by Nicole Shoenholz of One Hundred Year Ocean (and formerly of The World Is a Beautiful Place and I Am Not Afraid to Die) on Facebook. Shoenholz wrote, “CB is a fucking scumbag who raped a friend of mine.” The post has since been deleted.
Someone claiming to be the friend in question detailed their account on Reddit . They wrote:
I had been talking to Cam for a few months or so in 2013 - mostly
texting, nothing serious although we both had some sort of
romantic/sexual feelings for each other. Later that year I played a
show with my old band in Albany. Cam came to the show and offered to
let me stay at his house so I could catch a bus back to New York the
next day. I agreed, we drove to his house, I printed out my bus
ticket, I asked if I should sleep on the couch. He said no, you can
sleep in my bed - so I did, and we started having a consensual sexual
interaction. I fell asleep a little while later and I woke up to him
touching me. When I finally woke up we started engaging in sex again,
but my back was turned and he penetrated me without my consent,
knowledge, or a condom. I immediately felt like something was wrong
but I compartmentalized it for a month or so until I realized it was,
in fact, rape.
On March 2, before the allegation surfaced, Sorority Noise announced that they would go on hiatus , following the conclusion of their current tour. On April 9, another one of Boucher’s bands, Old Gray, announced a “ farewell tour .” When contacted by Pitchfork, a spokesperson for Old Gray stated: “The band will make a decision on Old Gray’s previously announced tour following the safety and return home of the band. At this time, we are focussing on Cameron’s health and will address everything in front of us in the coming days as quickly as possible with as much respect and care as possible.”
