How long does it take to process a Certificate of Insurance?
It depends on what exactly is required by the specific venue and the nature of the event. We require two weeks’ notice for Certificate of Insurance/Event Review requests.

What is your position on candles in the chapter house?
The insurance program does not have a candle exclusion; however, most of our clients have policies regarding the use of candles in the chapter facility and prudent risk management suggests that candles should not be allowed in the chapter house.

Do you recommend installing video cameras?
Video cameras on the exterior of your premises can be a good deterrent if you are having problems with vandalism or security. Interior cameras are another matter altogether and the member’s right of privacy must be considered.

Does MJ have a policy on fire drills?
While fire drills are a good practice from an insurance perspective, they are not required to maintain coverage. We recommend you follow the local/campus fire department’s recommendations.
