Sonic Nurse had decent sales, in part due to performances on TV talk shows including Late Night with Conan O'Brien and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. The band was also slated to perform in 2004's Lollapalooza tour along with acts such as The Pixies and The Flaming Lips, but the concert was canceled due to lackluster ticket sales.

Played Sonic Nurse top to bottom (what an album cover btw) and it was like a Eureka moment - what a great sound! Good songwriting, beautiful layers and atmosphere, reminiscent of daytime in 90s Manhattan. Any albums/songs by the band that are closer to this sound, or the favorites I mentioned?
2004's Sonic Nurse follows in the spirit of Murray Street, with songs that intend to be more accessible than Sonic Youth's more avant-garde releases. The drier sound brought about by new member/producer Jim O'Rourke is still in effect, making the group sound much more concise as a result.
