Mumbai : Actor Sonakshi Sinha, on Tuesday, issued an official statement rebutting the ongoing rumours of a non-bailable warrant issued against her in a fraud case.
As per several reports, the ‘Dabangg’ actor landed in legal trouble after a non-bailable warrant was issued against her.
It was reported that Sonakshi charged a huge amount of money for attending an event, but failed to attend it, following which the event organizer asked for their money back. However, calling the allegations baseless and fake, Sonakshi issued an official statement on Tuesday.
“There have been rumours of a non-bailable warrant issued against me floating in the media, without any verification from any authorities since a few days now. This is pure fiction and the work of a rogue individual trying to harass me. I request all media houses, journalists and news reporters not to carry this fake news as it is playing into this individual’s agenda to gain publicity,” she said.
Sonakshi Sinha added that the man “is purely trying to gain some publicity and extort money from me by attacking my reputation which I have very proudly built over the years, by planting these malicious articles in the media. Kindly do not participate in this harassment charade.”
“This matter is subjudice before the Muradabad court and has been stayed by the Allahabad High Court. My legal team will be taking all the necessary action against him for contempt of court,” she noted.
The 34-year-old actor also said that this statement would be her only comment on the matter until the Muradabad Court has passed its verdict.
“So please do not approach me for the same. I am home and I can assure you there are no warrants issued against me,” the actor concluded her statement.
Sonakshi Sinha shared the statement on her Instagram Story too.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Sonakshi will be seen sharing screen space with Huma Qureshi in ‘Double XL’, which revolves around bodyweight stereotypes.

A viral picture that appeared to show Salman Khan marrying Sonakshi Sinha was revealed to be fake. Now, Sonakshi has reacted to the image.
Sonakshi Sinha has reacted to reports that she secretly married Salman Khan.
The rumours came to light after a viral picture appeared to show Salman marrying his Dabangg co-star.
In the picture, Salman was seen wearing a beige suit while Sonakshi wore red and had vermilion in her hair.
A social media user uploaded the picture and claimed it was the first official picture as a married couple.
Believing that the Bollywood stars got married, some netizens sent messages of congratulations.
However, it was revealed to be a fake image.
Now, Sonakshi Sinha has reacted to the picture and hit out at netizens who believed she had tied the knot.
She said: “Are you so dumb that you can’t tell the difference between a real and a morphed picture.”
Others had also commented on the edited picture.
One person said: “This photo looks like Race 3 CG level and some people still believe this is true.”
Another wrote: “It’s beyond embarrassing at this point; heights of ridiculous.”
Sonakshi and Salman have worked together in the Dabangg franchise. The first film marked Sonakshi’s debut.
Sonakshi Sinha is also the headlines as a non-bailable warrant was issued against her in a fraud case.
The actress alleged did not attend an event in Delhi after charging Rs. 37 Lakh (£36,000).
According to reports, event organiser Pramod Sharma had planned an event in which Sonakshi was invited as the special guest.
But she failed to attend. As a result, the event organiser asked for his money back.
Mr Sharma alleged that the Bollywood actress’ manager has refused to refund the money.
When he did not get his money back even after contacting the actress several times, a fraud complaint was lodged.
Sonakshi reportedly travelled to Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh to record her statement.
But due to her continuous absence afterwards, the court has issued a warrant against Sonakshi.
On the work front, Sonakshi recently returned from the ‘Da-Bangg’ tour in Dubai. Other stars at the tour included Salman, Disha Patani and Pooja Hegde.
She will next be seen in Double XL along with Huma Qureshi.
Sonakshi also has Kakuda in the pipeline. The film also stars Riteish Deshmukh and Saqib Saleem.
