My Thoughts....
Continuing on from this author's series ...My Son's Wife...and this one...'My Son's Ex-Wife was another good read. Again with some realistic characters that are well developed, defined and oh so believable...all giving the reader another good read of redemption and forgiveness by this author.I thought a lots of that scripture...'I can do all things through Christ Jesus. Anyway moving on I found this author really has a way with her writing that will keep you turning the pages to see what going to happen next as you will see when tragedy strikes and with this seeing the Graham family will once again need to hold on to their faith. Will there be some changes for all to see like in Rena, Francesca and maybe a few others? I loved this second story of 'forgiveness, repentance, faith and restoration' from this series. This story was so very well presented by this author. Now, I am looking forward to continuing on to the next series...'My Son's Next Wife.'

What a turn of events!! A great follow up story!!
This 2nd book was good! It took the death of Stiles and Francesca's mother to bring some healing from their past lives. Now I'm on to the next book to see what it will bring!
Shelia releases the next book in the series of "My Son's Wife", which the first installment was a page-turning, frenzy, and on-the-edge of your seat dramatic scenes with a blow at the end of the book that leaves you waiting for this anticipated novel now.
After reading the family secrets and dirt unleashing in the first series, "My Son's Ex-Wife" had a different path and opening. It shows redemption, forgiveness, and seeing your own faults (get the peak out of your own eye instead of pointing the finger at someone else). We see Pastor Stiles walks in his father's shoes and unable to fully release from his mother's apron strings until love stares him in his face, but holding on past love with Rena.
Rena held guilty feelings and past mistakes such as STDs clouds her judgment when it comes to a new relationship blooming in her path with Robert. He has a past history but a man who loves her regardless of her past hurts. This is a devoted, good man in her path...women seem to turn these men away even though we all have baggage.
The ending was what I wanted to see for both Stiles and Rena, move forward not backwards. Francesa also sought after forgiveness and change for her life, under God's leadership and calling for her life to help others abused or not knowing their sexual preference. Step into promise not past pains. This book made a turn for seeing spiritual maturity, confessions, and learning to let go...not drama-packed but spiritually-release of baggage to step into a new future and life.
This is a sequel which reads like a stand alone novel. Rena, Stiles & Frankie have way too many unresolved issues to move forward in life. First Lady Audrey Graham is fed up with the betrayal that Rena and Frankie but its something slightly off about her. A horrible accident changes everyone's perspective of the future. How will things work out? Only God knows the plans He has for them.
I slacked alot on this book. It was hard for me to read. It was not as interesting as the first book. The most interesting parts was Audrey's accident, paralysis, and death. The ending was unexpected. I did not expect Rena to let Stiles go. I finally made myself finish. The author should have left it at just 1 book.

This sequel picks up right where the other one left off (My Son's Wife). Pastor, Audrey, Stiles, Rena and Francesca faith gets tested. This was a good read. I like the author's style of writing. Looking forward to reading "My Son's Next Wife".
Renee's mother-in-law and father-in-law find out that she is messing with Franky and her and her husband get divorced. Renee leaves town and when Stiles' father dies, she comes back and they give their relationship a try again.

Villagers of Wabukhonyi in Kimilili sub-county were reportedly taken aback to find William Makanu, 84 seriously having sex with his daughter-in-law.
Bukusu elders told the press that they would be obliged to perform the ritual in order to cleanse the ageing man and his daughter-in-law.
"According to our culture that is wrong and as elders we will have to look for a sheep to make an offering so as to cleanse him and the daughter-in-law," Jared Barasa said.
After being caught in the sacrilegious act, the said daughter-in-law left the house to avoid shame and attack but the dirty old man remained inside the room and refused to open the door, forcing the angry villagers to break in.
"We asked him to get out of the house but he refused until we finally decided to break in. As his sons we are ashamed and concerned at the same time because we have wives and we now feel like he has been doing this for a while," said Wanjala, one of his sons.
Interestingly, Wanjala disclosed that they wanted to cane their father 20 strokes and settle the matter amicably but the cane-fearing old man refused to submit himself.
Police officers who got wind of the happenings arrived on time and saved Makhanu from angry villages who were bent on lynching him.
