from Pote Village under Chief Chinamhora. Simon first impregnated his mother while his father Agripah Matsvara was alive and for the second time after his death. It is alleged that the first time Simon impregnated his mother, she had a miscarriage. However, this time Vhangare is alleged to be five months pregnant and Simon is responsible. The pair reportedly fled the community recently after getting news that Chief Chinamhora, Simon Chidziva, had sent his aides to arrest them. It is alleged that Vhangare’s husband, Agripah, suffered a stroke in 2008 and relatives reportedly assigned Simon to assist his mother take care of the father. Later in the same year, it is alleged Vhangare started vomiting and revealed to a neighbour that she was pregnant and her son was responsible. Family elders reportedly resolved the matter before fining the pair an undisclosed number of cattle. Two months later, Vhangare suffered a miscarriage before her husband’s death in 2008. Simon and his mother reportedly continued with their relationship that resulted in another pregnancy. The matter came to light after Vhangare absconded church services, prompted churchmates to pay her a visit. It was then discovered that Vhangare was pregnant again and neighbours reported the matter to Chief Chinamhora who sent his aides to arrest the two. “We are going to hunt for the two and we will punish them severely to send a clear message to would-be offenders that we do not tolerate such acts,” the chief said yesterday. In a related incident, another pair from Mutonda village under Chief Chinamhora, was fined three beasts after siring two children in an incestuous relationship. A 26-year-old man and his niece (22) reportedly cohabited as husband and wife since 2007. They bore two children now aged four and one. The matter came to light after the man’s uncle filed a complaint upon realising that his sister’s son had paid a bride price for his daughter to his brother-in-law. In passing sentence, Chief Chinamhora ordered the man to pay two heads of cattle before relocating permanently to his paternal homestead in Rusape. The woman was ordered to pay a cow. “Children are lacking guidance, especially in divorced families. Divorced parents need to set aside their difference for the benefit of their children. “We are Africans and our culture is being eroded. Parents must unite and send children to holidays such that they are in touch with their relatives and respect each other’s totems,” he said.

A 54-year-old mum who had already been through menopause is now pregnant with her own grandson, after stepping in as surrogate.
A 54-year-old mum-of-five who had already been through menopause is now pregnant with her own grandson, after stepping in as a surrogate.
Tasmanian Maree Arnold decided to step up to make her daughter Meagan’s dreams of becoming a mum a reality, telling Sunrise this morning it was “an easy decision to make”.
The 28-year-old was unable to fall pregnant, having been diagnosed with a rare disorder called Mayer-Rokitansky-Küster-Hauser syndrome (MRKH) when she was just 17, meaning she was born without a uterus and is unable to carry her own child.
“When I was a teenager, I was waiting around to start my menstrual cycle and it never happened,” she explained in a separate interview, reported by The Sun .
“Mum and I went to see a doctor and discovered I had MRKH, which means I was born without a uterus and therefore would never have a period.
“It also meant I could never carry a child, however I did have working ovaries so I could have a biological child with the help of a surrogate.
“Of course, as I was a teenager at the time, I didn’t think much about it.
“But after meeting my now-husband Clayde, 28, in 2015, I knew I wanted to start a family and be a mother.”
She and Clayde feared they’d never get to have a family of their own, after their previous attempts with surrogacy sadly ended in miscarriage.
“We looked into surrogacy and found a volunteer named Allison overseas in Canada through an agency in January 2019. We got to know her virtually for nine months, before flying over there in September 2019 to meet her in person,” Meagan said, adding that in December of that year, Allison fell pregnant.
“But in March 2020, doctors told us our baby girl had not developed kidneys and would not be viable with life.
“Everyone was heartbroken, and after that I just felt like giving up. Then once the pandemic began, overseas travel was prohibited, so everything felt impossible.”
After doing some extensive research, though, Maree discovered she could carry her daughter’s baby – and she’s now 30 weeks pregnant with her own grandson and due to give birth via caesarean in January.
“I always just assumed I’d be too old to do something like this, but it just goes to show you always need to ask questions. I believe 45 is the usual cut off, however as I am her mother, the doctors are more lenient,” she explained.
“I was very happy once we got past the first 20 weeks – after that I was really confident.
“It is such a special experience for me and I’m over the moon to be able to help my daughter … We really want to raise awareness to let people know this is possible. We all can’t wait to meet our grandson.”
Meagan told Sunrise hosts Kochie and Nat that it was “incredible” of her mum to offer to carry her child. “We’ve tried not to get too excited too early, but now we’re in the final trimester everything is kind of hitting us. It’s very exciting,” she said.
A woman whose partner repeatedly falls asleep while she’s in labour has revealed the handy $7.50 item that solved her delivery room issue.
MAFS star Michael Brunelli has revealed his fiancee Martha Kalifatidis has been battling an unexpected issue after falling pregnant.
A teen mum has revealed how she had no idea she was pregnant, until she gave birth on her living room floor while getting ready for school.
