In what sounds like a moonlight tale, a 26-year-old son has got his 47-year-old mother pregnant in Benue State.
The news, which took the state by storm, is said to have rocked the woman’s marriage.
The 47-year-old Veronica, said she committed the incestuous act because she claimed, needed to proof her fertility and save her marriage, which unfortunately she has now lost.
The randy son is said to be from a previous marriage to her late husband before she married the second husband, Sebastian.
Veronica from Howe, Ugee council ward was reported to have slept with her son so as to bear children for her second husband, Sebastian Iorshe, 44, from Aliade, all in the same Gwer East Local Government Area of the same state.
Veronica had been married to her second husband for eight years without a child. However she decided to use her son from her previous marriage for a fertility test.
Veronica said she had suggested to her husband that they went for a medical checkup to ascertain who has problem between them, when she could not bear children for him but her husband declined.
This was after the man’s family accused her of using their son’s sweat to train a child from another marriage.
She then decided to test if she is the one with fault. Thus, she came up with a plan and lured her son into sleeping with her.
When she became pregnant, she broke the news to her husband, who promptly denied responsibility for the pregnancy.
The husband claimed that he had not slept with her for a long time and could not have been impregnated her.
The couple decided to visit the hospital where it was discovered that the man is suffering from low sperm count and cannot impregnate a woman.
Veronica later confessed that she actually slept with her son to save the marriage. She lamented that she did it out of love for Sebastian.
The husband has since sent her packing.
She said she will keep the pregnancy since according to her, “it is blood within my blood.”

The boy named Ekenem impregnated his mother while testing his love charm, The Guardian reported.
The incident occurred at Asaba, the capital of Nigeria’s Delta State.
“I am deeply sorry for all that has happened, I did not mean to do this. I saw myself falling in love with her after the love charm prepared for me. I have to confess because I know by so doing, God will touch her mind and I know she will forgive me.
“I suddenly found that I was making love to mum when I thought the charm will not work, and upon the revelation, I threatened to kill her and the matter was reported to the police”, the paper quoted the 19-year-old as saying.
Ekenem the paper reported sought the services of a native doctor who had prepared him a love charm which he used on his mother. He had also wanted to use the charm on one of the matrons in the college where he was a boarding student.
The incident came to light after the husband of the 19-year-old’s mother who was said to have been away and returned only to be hit with the news of the pregnancy and he denied responsibility.
“I did not know how it happened, but all I can say is that a young man who looked like my son suddenly found his way into my room at the wee hours and I was speechless,” the 19-year-old’s mother was quoted as saying.
The police are investigating the case.

IN a bizarre development, a 40-year-old Mwenezi widow has allegedly moved in with her biological son and the “couple” is now living as husband and wife amid reports that she is six months pregnant. Betty Mbereko of Muputirwa Village under Chief Chitanga whose husband died 12 years ago allegedly had a relationship spanning three years with her son Farai Mbereko, 23, despite the practice being a taboo and signalling a bad omen, according to traditional beliefs.
The affair, confirmed by Headman Nathan Muputirwa, came to light recently after villagers discovered that Betty was pregnant.
“The woman whose husband passed on long ago was living with her son. The two surprisingly decided to be intimate and I think it went on for long before relatives and neighbours noticed it. However, all hell broke loose when the woman became pregnant leading to neighbours and concerned relatives investigating,” said Headman Muputirwa.
The woman reportedly became defensive when taken to a traditional court over her suspected incestuous relationship with her son.
“We took the woman to the traditional court where she was charged for incest but she chose to justify her unholy act saying she wanted to ward off pressure from her in-laws who wanted to inherit her. The woman said she decided to move in with her son because she didn’t want to marry any of her brothers-in-law. This is taboo and we wouldn’t allow it here. The woman has since been told to move away from this area,” he said.
The bizarre development follows yet another shocker where a 44-year-old man in Masvingo engaged in sexual relationships with his daughters aged 14 and 16 leading to one of them falling pregnant in February.
The man (name withheld) would sleep with his daughters whose mother passed away in 2012. This went on for a long time before the man was arrested following the disccovery of the 16-year-old girl’s pregnancy by an aunt. The man is serving 20 years in prison for the offence after he was convicted by Masvingo magistrate Lyn-Mary Manyika.
