A 17th century five-bedroom house built with views overlooking St Paul's Cathedral following the Great Fire of London , has gone on the market for £3million.
The Grade-II property in Carter Lane, central London, is set over six floors and comes with its own roof terrace, five en-suite bedrooms, two kitchens and retractable skylights.
The house, which pre-dates the nearby cathedral and is one of the oldest buildings on the road, has recently undergone a meticulous renovation project to bring it into the 21st century with a glass panel in the flooring on every level allowing sight from ground level up to the top floor.
But the house has maintained its original character, too, with an exposed original brick fireplace on the ground floor included within the 2,483 sq ft of living space.
The ground floor also includes a dual aspect reception room with panelled walls and windows fitted with shutters.
Directly below, on the lower ground floor, is an open plan kitchen and dining room complete with fitted appliances within integrated cupboards and a kitchen island - all in the same colouring.
It also contains an integrated wine fridge, with a separate utility room adjoining the kitchen.
The fourth floor terrace of the central London property has views of St Paul's Cathedral (pictured) and provides easy access into the city
The property was built shortly after the Great Fire of London and has remained in Carter Lane (pictured) for more than 350 years - earning its Grade II status.

The historic property was built shortly after the Great Fire of London in 1666 and has remained in Carter Lane for more than 350 years
Moving up to the first floor, the principal bedroom suite comes with fitted storage, sash windows and a walk-in wardrobe with bespoke cupboards. This leads to a large en-suite bedroom with a free-standing bath and walk-in shower.
On the second and third floors are a further four bedrooms, each with their own en-suite bathrooms.
On the top floor is a second reception room that includes a small kitchen area, retractable skylights and access onto the terrace providing views of the historic domed cathedral.
The house is set within a conservation area, with the building previously used for commercial purposes before undergoing a renovation project to transform it into contemporary housing.
As well as glass panelling in the floor of every level, there is air conditioning throughout which is individually controlled.
The property was built shortly after the Great Fire of London and has been in Carter Lane for more than 350 years - earning its Grade II status.
Carter Lane was originally a thoroughfare for carts hundreds of years ago and was known as three streets named Shoe Makers Row, Great Carter Lane and Little Carter Lane.
But in 1866, they became simply known as Carter Lane, one of the main thoroughfares of London leading through the ancient narrow streets, courts and alleys that make up the Square Mile.
The lane was also once home to the Bell Inn, a pub from which the only known remaining letter to Shakespeare was written by Richard Quiney - the father-in-law to the famed writer's daughter Judith - on October 25, 1598. The letter is now preserved in a museum in his birthplace of Stratford-upon-Avon.
The pub was demolished at the end of the 19th century, but its site can still be found on the corner of the street.

The house is ideally located for easy access into London's financial district legal quarter and schools - on top of attractions in the West End
Further down Carter Lane is a small archway that leads to Wardrobe Place, a site once home to the King's Wardrobe, an institution created to be the storage place for the monarch's finest robes, jewels, armour and furniture before it burned down in the great fire.
The house is ideally located for easy access into London's financial district legal quarter and schools - on top of attractions in the West End.
Nearby St Paul's Tube station provides access onto the Central, Circle and District lines.
The property is on the market with Frank Harris & Co for £3million
Tina Evans, Frank Harris & Co director, said: 'We are delighted to bring this excellent five-bedroom property to the market.
'The Grade II Listed building, dating back to the 17th Century sits on a lane steeped in history with a quaint village feel, creating an enclave amongst the hustle and bustle of the city.
'The house has been renovated to a remarkable standard and makes for an elegant home in a sought-after location.'

The son of a top Kremlin official revealed in a prank call that he had no intention of being called up for Vladimir Putin ’s war mobilisation.
Nikolay Peskov, 32, son of the president’s spin-doctor and war spokesman Dmitry Peskov, believed he was talking to a military call-up officer.
He fell for the phone sting and made clear he would pull strings in the Kremlin so he did not have to obey the mobilisation order.
The call evidently showed that the entitled sons of the Russian political elite do not expect to be sent to the front, unlike hundreds of thousands of other Russians from ordinary backgrounds who will get no exemptions.
He received a fake call on livestream Popular Politics, a channel linked to the team of Putin foe Alexei Navalny.
Nikolay Peskov (RIGHT) with father Dmitry Peskov, press-secretary to Russian president Vladimir Putin. The son was caught out on a phone call where he believed he was talking to a military call-up officer
Presenter Dmitry Nizovtsev, 35, called up the official pretending to be a representative of the Russian military, ordering him to go to the recruitment office at 10am
The phone call was made by the channel’s presenter Dmitry Nizovstev, who told Peskov junior that he was Major Anton Matrynov, from a Moscow conscription office.
'Hello. Let's not hang up, like last time,' said the pretend officer. 'Why are you calling me...?'
'Because Mr. Peskov… we've sent you a conscription today via electronic way as well,' said the prankster. 'But you didn't reply yet.'
'There is a contact number you should call and come tomorrow at 10am to the military office,' they went on. 'Why didn't you call back and will you come to the military office tomorrow? We're waiting for you at 10am.'
The son of the Putin senior official replied bluntly: 'Naturally I will not be there at 10am. You must understand I am Mr Peskov. It’s not quite right for me to be there [at the conscription office].
'To cut it short, I’ll be sorting this out at another level. I’ve got to understand what and how I should be doing.'
The ‘officer’ replied: 'What an interesting threat, What is this [other] level?'
Peskov denied he was making a threat but said he had to take advice on whether he should be called up.

Peskov is pictured in the Red Square. He is a former conscript in Russia’s nuclear rocket forces and should be illegible to be called up, but implied he had no intention of following the call
He told the officer there were 'political nuances' about being called up without explaining his father was Putin’s press secretary and deputy head of the Kremlin administration.
He is a former conscript in Russia’s nuclear rocket forces and in theory would be a prime candidate for mobilisation.
Peskov said: 'If I have to defend Motherland, it's not a problem, but I have to understand the feasibility of my coming there. I'm talking about political nuances.'

Russia will carry out a partial military mobilisation, Putin said, with veterans and reservists with combat or service experience called up (pictured: Russian marines in training)
The fake conscription official asked him, pretending not to know who his father is: 'Can you talk about these political nuances? Maybe I don't know.'
'I can't explain,' said Peskov. 'If I have to defend my motherland, don't worry, I'll be with you. But if I come tomorrow or not — it's another question.'
But the son did say that if Putin ordered him to be called up he would obey.
Peskov junior is a former sports journalist with the RT ‘propaganda’ media network .
Dmitry Peskov demanded that what he called the full transcript should be published. He said he was confident his son would be vindicated.
