Julie Darby's husband, Gary, has been sleeping alone for the past five years. No, their marriage isn't on the rocks. Instead, their sons sleep with Julie, leaving Gary in the boys' room by himself.
If you're confused, Julie says a lot of people are, but insists this arrangement is best for her children because she puts them first. She also says that her sons don't mind it at all. As the Inquistr reports:
Kai, 9, and Brayden, 10, reportedly love soccer, bike riding and play fighting. However, when it comes to bedtime, they like nothing more than chilling with their mom and waking up next to her in the morning.
She's, of course, gotten plenty of criticism for her decision. "We've heard it all. We're spoiling them, we'll make them too attached," she says. Yet she explains the fact that her sons are "happy and healthy" means she's not doing anything wrong. Julie says, if anything, it's helped her children. "I believe that allowing them the comfort of sharing a bed with me has contributed to their confidence. When children know they are unconditionally loved and supported, they thrive."
What does Gary think about all of this? "I honestly don't mind. Julie and I still make time for sex. I don't need to sleep in the same bed as my wife every night to have intimacy with her. If anything, our relationship has been made stronger by this."
While she's tried to get the boys to sleep in their own beds in the past, they've always wanted to go back to her. "I couldn't say no," she says. She will be turning them away fairly soon, though. "I will cut it off by the time they are 12 to 13 because boys need to be on their own once they get to that sort of age."

Now, it's no secret that having children can get pretty messy.
Some parents might argue that the worst time for this is when your kids are young, as they might fling food around, decide to colour on the walls with crayons - or even your lipstick - and they are constantly covered in some form of dirt.
But others would argue that as they get older and move into their teenage years, that's when things really get bad.
One mum who is likely to be in that camp is Amanda Nighbert, from Lexington, Kentucky in the US.
The parent and registered dietician recently went viral on social media after sharing her horror over the mess hidden down the side of her teenage son's bed.
Posting on TikTok under the name @amandanighbertrd, Amanda shared a clip of what she found when she moved her son's bed away from the wall, as they rearranged his room.
She captioned the video, writing: "When is the last time you cleaned under your teenager's bed?!!"
In the clip, her jaw drops open as she uncovers the mess which stretches the length of the double bed.
On the floor are masses of empty crisp packets and sweet wrappers, used paper plates, carrier bags, broken pens and empty drink bottles.
A couple of different family members come and check out the mess and all look equally as shocked.
The end of the video shows her son cleaning up down the side of the bed, before hoovering away all evidence that it ever existed.
The mum's video has since been viewed over 17 million times and garnered more than one million likes.
Thousands of people also commented on the post to share their thoughts.
One person said: "Honestly thank goodness you don't have bugs or something else from that."
A third wrote: "My mom would have literally killed me if my room was like that."
While someone else admitted: "Still not as bad as I was thinking it would be."
A different user added: "This is AWFUL!"
