Does anyone ever notice this and does it bother anyone? I've been working in daycare for the past 7 months and almost everyday I hear comments from moms and sometimes my co-workers about how well endowed a boy is and how he won't have problems with the ladies or occasionally I'll hear someone mention how tiny a boy's penis is. I don't know if I'm just stuck up, but I get really uncomfortable when I hear comments like these. My cousin who has a 17 month old boy has occasionally made comments about her son's penis size as well. This past Labor Day we all went to the park and she was changing his diaper on the table and said he's definitely going to be a "big" boy and then she winked. How can you even make that type of assessment on a boy at that age? How do these women even know what an impressive size for a boy that age is? A mother shouldn't have any concern at all about the size of her boy's penis. Since I'm hearing these types of comments from women so much, I'm assuming that it's no big deal and every mom does it and I'm just stuck up. Does anyone agree with me that it's a bit vulgar? Have you heard these type of comments? What types of comments have you heard other women say? Has anyone ever made a comment about your son? Do you even remotely care about the size of your son's penis?
Moms talking about their son's penis size... does this bother anyone?
I don't like it neither. My husband's ex-wife said something like that about her newborn grandson. It creeped me out. I mean there are obviously no medical concerns. I have 2 sons of my own, changed thousands of diapers and never felt like talking to anyone about their penis size. I just don't understand some moms and women who talk about babies like this.
I've heard this before, usually from guys that brag about their newborns. They will say something like oh he gets his big penis from his dad. I can understand two close friends joking about it once or twice but after a while I do not see why anyone would constantly feel the need to comment on their sons penis. The women and mothers you work with are inconsiderate and disrespectful towards those children.
Do they not realize the children may hear them. These kids may not understand what they are talking about right away but one day they are going to remember what these women have said about their penis size and have self esteem issues. Besides, a two year old can have a giant penis compared to other two year olds but who is to say it will continue to grow at that rate?
These dumb women have no idea how large a little boys penis will be when he is a grown man. Their comments are not only rude they are incredibly ignorant.
It can be vulgar, especially if the focus is genitals. But, when you change a butt load (ha ha ha) of diapers and all you see is baby boy bottoms all day long you kind of notice things. Sure I have commented to my husband, and we know that one of our sons is more endowed then the other - it's hard not to notice when sometimes they have an erect phallus. You know because once they're born then really don't grow until puberty but seem to stay the same size. Maybe a mom shouldn't be concerned, but I think we are - how often do you hear boys get teased for having a small package? Or men for that matter?
On the other hand, I am not sure I'd discuss that with anyone other then my husband really - this forum is relatively anonymous, unless you make it otherwise. Talking too much about your son's genitals might indicate something not quite right with that mom or caregiver (as in, women can be pedophiles too). The only comment I heard from anyone from my more endowed son was the pediatrician when we had him circumcised, he had to get the biggest bell for that surgery - borrowed it from the hospital. But that was clinical.
I have a 5yr old son and must say I have never once discussed this subject nor even thought about it. I've never heard other people discussing it either (I live in the UK) I really think it would be frowned upon and you're certainly not stuck up for having this opinion, it's vulgar. To answer your last question, no, I don't remotely care about the size of my son's penis.....that's something for him to ponder over when he's old enough and nothing to do with me!
I come from a large family and I have a lot of cousins that are younger, and I have heard my aunts talk about this so many times. I always thought it was a little gross and could have done without the info. I mean, kids do grow up, and people aren't going to forget what was said about them. I remember one of my aunts making a big deal about how small my one cousins penis is and I always felt kinda bad for him, especially now that he is older. I just don't think that its something that people need to know. And I think the biggest reason people talk about it is to brag, kinda like the "my dad can beat up your dad" type of way. I guess some people will use whatever they can to make themselves feel better than someone else.
I find it quite disturbing. I have two boys and I am not even remotely interested in the size of their penis. I actually have twins and in the hospital, in NICU where I'm already freaked out a nurse came to help change diapers and she said, "OMG! OMG! OMG!" and of course, I started to freak out thinking something was wrong. And I said, "What?!" and she said, "He has the biggest penis I've ever seen on a new baby!" It was really strange for her to say that. I have been around a LOT of moms and honestly, other than that instance in the hospital, penis size of children has NEVER come up!!!
Ignorance is definitely the key word. It doesn't matter what size a baby's penis is. It will change dramatically at puberty; it's not like all the "big" ones stay big and the "small" ones stay small. Two brothers could have a complete role reversal. Geez, are women (and men) really so stupid that they don't realize hormone levels etc. will play the biggest role in the final outcome.
My husband and I joke about our boys and the size of their penis', but I've never said anything to other people. My best friend and I talk about our son's penis' in reference to medical questions, but not about "size". lol I think its just one of those "different strokes for different folks" kind of things. What one person thinks is cute and funny to discuss, someone else thinks its inappropriate and a bit vulgar. I must admit though that its very inappropriate for daycare workers to be discussing the size of a penis when changing a diaper. If I was a mother and walked in on that discussion, I'd be appalled and would demand to speak to their boss immediately.
I don't believe in talking about a child's penis size. No one can determine how big or small their child will be and shouldn't care about it either. When my child is old enough to wash himself he will be allowed to and I will not care from that point how big or small his penis gets. If he has a problem with it, fine, I'll help however I can, but I will not intrude on him just to see or whatever people do to their kids that are so concerned about the kid's penis size.
If the child is question is like 4 months or 14 months I don't think there is really anything toooooo strange about it. Now on the other hand if it a group of middle aged lading hanging out and talking about the size of the penises of their 18 year old sons i would really start ot wonder what is going on.
