I recently started doing monuments and I am attracted to the idea of trying either Small or Large Oil Rig, but have never spoke to anyone about it since I always play solo. What would be the best way to go about it and what gear would be required?
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
Also possible to take them out from the boat with comp bow, although slower than sar/bolty
I like going sar with a stack of ammo, hazmat, 10 meds. This is for small oil. I haven't done large solo yet. Shooting the scientists from your boat also helps. You can hit them without them hitting you.
I heard somewhere that hazmats aren't effective against scientists because of how the damage reduction is accounted for so maybe hoodie, pants, boots, riot helmet, jacket, bandana, and either wooden legs or leather gloves?
I'm not great at small oil but my two cents:
Bring a bunch of pumpkins or cloth along with meds. Try to bait one scientist at a time. This way you can heal with pumpkins and bandages rather than going through your meds.
Spend some time learning their movement patterns. I guess you could watch a video for all locations but IMO it's more fun to learn yourself.
Don't be afraid to bail if you run out of meds. Ammo is way less of an issue since the scientists drop so much. I have stacks of pistol ammo at base that I just dont use.
Did they ever fix the scientist spawn rates?
I have not a clue LOL. Never knew there was an issue with it.
