This is so different leave it to the Spaniards crazy Hombres. This has some serious cojones Balls came out in 2004 but still smells so modern. A MASTERPIECE ENOUGH SAID!!!!!
I've always seen this brand on fragrance shops and wanted to grab a bottle and see if the scents match the luxury, upscale vibe of the company. I grabbed 'Solo Loewe' by Loewe and expected it to be quite good, sort of a corporate, safe for work, professional office kind of smell. Indeed, it is.
The opening blast is a blend of citrus, mainly orange, layered with a warm amber note and strong woody aromatics. It immediate smells really well made, classy, strong and masculine. It's sexy without being too dark, its mature without smelling old school, and its modern without being too generic. It kind of smells like a high end, four-star hotel or an upscale men's clothing boutique to be honest.
Once it settles down, the citrus calms and the powerful woods come out. When matched with amber and a soft vanilla sweetness, this becomes gorgeous. The first couple hours this stuff projects very strongly and leaves a beautiful scent trail and arm's length bubble of fragrance. The base of amber and woods carries on until it becomes a simple skin scent of earthy woods with a hint of sweetness.
With eight sprays (neck, shoulders, chest and forearms), longevity was about six hours, but with strong projection for the first couple hours. Once it settles, it has moderate projection that is easily detectable but not offensive and sillage is also moderate. Not weak, not heavy, but office safe and event safe. It became a skin scent around six hours in, but it stays well on clothes for a good 10-12+ hours as a fresh, woody scent.
The prices for this are fairly reasonable, as it is a very well made scent which smells expensive and high quality. If it were a niche scent, it would easily sell for three times the amount it goes for now. This is a safe, inoffensive, classy fragrance for the well dressed gentleman over the age of 35+ who wants an easy reach for the Spring and Summer months. Definitely recommended.
Tons of notes listed but the main notes are the citrus with orange being the most dominant. This is considered a dumb grab scent IMHO. Great for when you can't make up your mind and need something quick. It's not great but it's not bad. Something like a B- if we were in school or a C+. Longevity for me is actually at 6-7 hours which is great for a freshie, no idea how this is listed as an oriental but whatever. It's perfect for warm weather.
blind bought a 50ml bottle, tested it four separate times and hated it more with each wear. sold it off two weeks after purchase.
uninspired air freshener. it truly smells like it came from an aerosol can of Glade. cloying, artificial, and unpleasant.
It's hard to pick up a note, the blend is really perfect.
Fresh, fruity, clean and classy, a bit soapy and aldehydic in the opening too.
It must be one of the most versatile juice i've ever smellt, for all occasions and from january to december, I can't see one scenario where this one wouldn't fit.
I think this has also a no-cologne vibe, almost smells like a natural odor enhancer or the wafts you get in some modern sylish shops.
The longevity and sillage are good, it's a Love for me
Hands down one of the greatest scents ever made. I have nothing more to say, I am out of words. Just perfect.
In my quest for fragrances I can tie to my travel memories, Loewe’s Solo Loewe is the perfect fit for Cartagena de Indias, Colombia - a picturesque colonial era Caribbean paradise with a colorful, walled “old city” lying adjacent to a colorful, hip backpacker barrio lying adjacent to a Miami Beach-esque strip of modern white high rises - all of this surrounded by a vibrant city with a passion for flavorful Caribbean food and Champeta music.
On the most personal level, this represents wandering the streets of the old city, past the street vendors’ fragrant carts of exotic fruit and fresh squeezed limeade, under canopies of hibiscus, morning glory and bougainvillea cascading from overhead window baskets, peering into storefront windows displaying emeralds of a deeper, more vibrant green than the human eye should be capable of perceiving. A very pleasant and voluntary assault of the senses, and an affair of giving oneself over completely to the surrounding elements.
Solo Loewe truly embodies this essence, but much like the city itself, there are times that it can get a little too intense and sort of teeter on the edge of acceptability for me. In certain situations it has the tendency to act on the momentum of its potency and take a dive off of the edge into a pool of semi-cloying syrupy sweet tropicalia. Anyone with a natural aversion to sweetness will probably take one look at the guava in the notes and already know, but if validation from a consumer is important to you, here’s my recommendation - if sugar isn’t your jam, stay far, far away from this one. Even with my love for sweet fragrances, this particular nectar takes a little more thoughtfulness and planning to pull off than many of my other favorites.
Obviously I consider Solo Loewe a win for me personally, albeit a temperamental one. I won’t wear this to the office, on public transportation, to the dentist, or any other enclosed spaces where I feel like I could be inflicting a saccharine overload on anyone. I will reserve this for open spaces and adventures on my feet where I am quickly moving through spaces, never lingering too long. I was lucky to purchase this in several small portions, so it is easy to travel with and will make the perfect accompaniment to future tropical excursions.
The ideal byline for Solo Loewe: Summer Never Ends.
Well, ultimately it has not stolen my heart. I had high hopes for this as I could smells some "echoes" of Givenchy pour homme in it, but it seems it does not press the right button in my head. Maybe it's just too generic. Anyhow, it is still a solid item in its group of citrusy-woody scents.
The longevity is not great and the scent is sitting very close to skin.
Good thing is its versatility, any season, any place, formal/informal but rather would not go for it in the evening.
Worth a try. Overall 7.5/10.
This is nothing like mugler cologne. MC is green and soapy and this is neither.
Best way I can describe this is that it smells just like an orange creamsicle, its fresh, clean and sweet.
Doesnt change much and stays pretty linear from initial spray to dry down.
Reminds me somewhat of my country's national drink (morir soñando) which is made of carnation milk, sugar, and orange juice.
I blind bought this based on reviews here that the guava is really pronounced and I love guava but frankly what I mostly get is orange creamsicle.
All that being said, this has risen into my top 5 favorite summer fragrances.
Went from hate to love the more I wore it. First time I smelled it, it was a hot mess. The second, I appreciated the zing. Now, the fifth or sixth time, I appreciate the evolution on drydown. I don't think this is a crowd pleasing fragrance. It took me awhile and now I would consider making it my goto for blistering hot August and September days.
Both older men and younger men can wear this. The guava and the orange really stand out and it has a great masculine edge to it. I get about 12 hours longevity on my clothes and the projection is very solid. People will notice you wearing this. This is another unique fragrance and I'm glad I went for it. This was a total blind buy, 4.2 oz. I want to try all of the Solo flankers now and also others from Loewe. I'm pretty impressed with this one. It's something that stands on it's own and I haven't smelled anything similar. It's a great balance of fruity and masculine. I give this a 9.5/10
The guava note lasts the whole duration of the fragrance. It's nicely done! I love this juice!
No one got the caraway/anise combo in the drydown? 'Cause I don't have a great nose but I do have a collection of essential oils; I went for them to check and try to find out the remaining scent I had on my shirt after testing this perfume, it was those two.
Average longevity (in cloth, didn't try it on my skin); it last longer than Loewe 001 which is eau de parfum.
Blind buy. Received it today and it reminds me very much of Mugler Cologne. This is a fruity (but not the sweet kind), synthetical and linear smell. Pretty sharp in the opening. Not bad at all, but I hoped for a tad more complexity in the development of the scent. A nice crowd pleasing fragrance to have on the side in the spring/summer season.
Perhaps the citrus is what gives it its freshness, but my nose does not discern any actual citrus at all. It's more of a fresh spicy scent, and sometimes I get the amber and wood.
Went looking for this one last year in Mallorca. Finally managed to test both this one and the Platinum version. As my wife doesn't like citrusy fragrances I decided to buy the Platinum. Much to my regret, because that one is far too weak for me. Skin Scent all the way.
Decided to buy the original now.
The citrusy/Lavendel combo present at the start, is soon to be covered by a veil of smokey dust, which reminds me of Bentley for man Absolute. One that I own and came to love during this Winter. Special at evening/night time.
There is a lot going on, now over 4 hours, even if it is far too cold for it today. 8 Degrees C. Subdued smoky citrus sweetness. Man this one is going to shiny with warmer weather.
I wore it also last evening upon receiving it.
Good projection and a very nice scent. My daughter who is 16 approved it. She has a very fine nose. I just wished mine was half as good as hers.
I will update, but for now I'm very happy with it.
After reading the reviews of this gem, I had to purchase a bottle. This really is a modern masterpiece. I have found that my favorite fragrances tend to embrace a concept of 'duality'. Floral and musky like For Him by Narciso Rodriguez; leathery, floral, and fresh like Dior Homme and Spicy, fresh mint like Caron's L'Anarchiste. This is a true sum of the parts and you can literally pick out the notes listed above. The freshness of the citrus and aldehydes, the unique sweetness of the guava, and the spiciness of the cinnamon, pepper and anise. This juice is timeless and ageless. A concoction of its parts like CH Man with its sugar, leather and grass notes. Oh, and women love it too!
UPDATE: I knew this reminded me of another one of the fragrances in my collection...this is the sexy, fun-loving casual cousin of Bvlgari Homme Extreme! At first spray, they almost smell identical. Whereas Bvlgari Homme Extreme stays completely fresh and linear, Solo morphs into this sweet, spicy, ambery seductiveness for which there is nothing like it. I want reiterate this is not a clone of Bvlgari Homme Extreme by any means, just an observation that they have a very similar profile on initial spray.
Atlas
You must be crazy. Boss Bottled. You probably have been looking too deep in a Bottle.
Call me crazy... This reminds me of Boss Bottled. Must be the cinnamon
Fantastic fragrance, that citrus smell is outstanding and also the guava is the one that makes it smell even better; I always get compliments when I spray it on me. By the way my father is Spaniard and I feel a lot more Spanish wearing this masterpiece
Loewe Solo is a mass-pleasing scent that is based around fruity (mandarin orange, guava, tangerine) and oriental (cinnamon, pink pepper) notes. It is very pleasing, however it feels I have smelled this many times before. Has that mall-scent type of DNA. I feel this can be a nice everyday casual fragrance for those who just want to smell good without looking for something too special. Solo lasts about 6-7 hours on my skin with moderate projection.
im basicly love oriental base fragrances, and that is the reason i'm buying a full bottle of this fragrance. The first i smell loewe fragrance is the loewe solo cedro from the sample bottle. I love the smell from this fragrance although its not as alluring as cedro (personal opinion). The performance is also great, long lasting a full day of work (8hours)
Picasso... Yup Picasso! This is bold and abstract! And I love it! Mandarin, guava and lavender are not a typical trio, but WOW what a combination! The opening is definitely intriguing, but the mid is alluring (I swear this scent is sensual and devious!). The mid notes reveal this lovely herbal, floral accord. With rosemary and thyme flirting with the richness of the costus flower. The patchouli and cashmere wood do an excellent job of giving backbone to the floral and herbal notes. The base is a lovely melange of spicy sweetness and amber. Solo Loewe took a long while to figure out. Now I get it! This scent is sexy and funky! This should be worn with full confidence and when you feel a little more extrovert than usual. Think night time use with this scent, and if you are feeling risky or frisky give this scent a try on a date night! Solo Loewe is very unique and very alluring! This fragrance needs more love and hype. It is that good! Wear this on an evening out with a potential suitor... when the night entails learning more about one another, and you do not want to reveal everything all at once.
The way this fragance smells makes me feel is like a "Matador". Like that aura projected by the Toreros. Very manly scent with a certain mysterious.
Just to clarify I am against any form of animal cruelty.
I received a gift in the mail from my ex.
Hmmm, okay?
It's Solo Loewe, a new scent for me to try...sweet.
So first off it's unique, an oriental fragrance from Spain.
Smells great, so far my only issue is.
It doesn't last that long on the skin(meaning Sillage combine with how long it last isn't great)...From the hype, I've read from the forums.
6.8 Oz bottle for $72.00, hmmm okay.
From the first blast...i get guava, citrus notes, lavender, and cinnamon.
Then some hints of nutmeg and vanilla.
Sillage is a foot from the area you applied it.
But after you sprayed it on yourself...if fades fast...every ten maybe quicker.
After an hour, you will forget you used it.
Unless you smell the area you applied it or a gust of wind hits you.
But it smells awesome!
But I wished it last longer, shake my head.
The first hour or two, my co-workers walked past me and then walked back. Just to ask, what am I wearing? You smell great...
So I got three compliments so far today.
I will wear it for another week straight and update you on this fragrance.
But I love it thus far and will buy this again.
Just wished it was sold in the USA.
I have to buy it from eBay, Amazon, Notino, FragranceX, FragranceNet, etc...Can't find it in a physical store.
But next paycheck, if it's still there online.
I will buy another bottle, just in case, it's discounted or price jump.
But I do know, the longer it's out. The harder it is to find in the USA.
Need an example; Remember Midnight In Paris EDP, Gucci Envy, BLV Notte or Invictus Aqua?
All of those are hard as hell to find or the price is so jacked up, that it's pointless.
Scent: 9/10
Value: 6/10
Sillage: 4/10
Longevity: 5/10
Creativity: 7/10
Versatility: For anything & everything, at any time!
Update: I forgot to mention...I only use five sprays; one on both wrist, one on the chest, my shirt and one on my neck.
I don't know how or why this scent is called a beast?
Maybe it needs to be hot outside for this to work.
Right now it's 33 degrees Fahrenheit in NYC.
And I'm indoors with the heat on, it does get you compliments.
But the scent doesn't last, nor does pass your own personal space.
After an hour if you want to smell it, I have to sniff the area I sprayed it.
So spray it on your shirt or something...So whenever a gust of wind or someone hugs you...you and they can smell it.
Other than that it smells great.
Just Sillage and Longevity are the only issues!
A bit of citrus, a bit of fruit and a bit of wood. There's nothing special here - it's a very generic smelling fragrance. Spend your money on something else.
** Update 01-2018 **
I was going through some samples, found this and decided to try it again. My assessment remains the same -it's nothing remarkable.
As I wore this through the day my mind kept going back to thoughts of Hermes' Terre, the original. Dirty, spicy and sweeter though tangerine instead of orange-add guava and no inert mineral note.
I had no hesitation in wearing this, though like Hermes'TdH, it seems to lean more towards the older gentleman.
Loewe, a Spanish company, has kept me happy with all their scents that I own so far.
If you are familiar with guava (here in Brazil, "goiaba", that can be found on trees on the street), that what it is: a fresh, citrusy guava juice.
I like it, but since i enjoy *eating* the fruit, for me, wearing this semms like if i had some guavas and forgot to wash my mouth...
very good composition though.
7 out of 10.
(guavas, rather eat them!)
solo by loewe is a real fantastic fragrance
longevity: excellent +12 hours.
projection: my dad was 2 meters away from me and he smelled it and it was strong.
sillage: this could easily fill in an entire room.
price:it was in sales when i bought it so very good .
overall:a real love .
A question for those who believe that Dior homme (and its flankers) is the sexiest fragrance ever made, have you ever try/smell Solo by Loewe? I think you don't.
An all year round masterpiece!!
I received a sample of Loewe Solo Cedro, tried it and had such an incredibly positive female reaction that I went back to purchase a bottle. I got to the local shop that gave me the tester and they did not yet carry it! I purchased Loewe Solo instead. To me Solo smelled like a less cedar forward version that had more complexity. So back into the city I went, again the reaction from women I encountered was incredible. More than a few stares in my direction as well as a barista taking down the name of the scent I was wearing, she wants to buy it for her guy. The day in the city ended with a woman literally asking me to sit closer to her as she walked past and we exchanged glances. Absolutely unexpected reactions I must admit.
All of this said, I myself am thrilled and pleased with this masterpiece. I have over 18 scents at my disposal, but this one has garnered quite the reaction while being something I myself can't get enough of.
It's a win win for me! Highly regarded!

received mine today,
and what can i say, i liked the Platinum , and i like this one also, start with fresh citrusy, then turns into more "mature" yet calm version of summer fragrance, i can see myself wearing this on casual outfit, hanging out with friends on warmer temperature. may this one suits you better with colder temperature? maybe. but will have to try it first. night events? why not. its kind of versatile !
overall
Scent : 9 out of 10
Longevity : will wear it couple times before giving a score.
Projection : damn this is BEAST. 9.5 out of 10 (easy on the trigger !) , dont go other than 3 sprays MAX !
Versatility : 8 out of 10
buy/try/pass : try before you buy.

Solo Loewe is a bright fresh scent, sharp, elegant, wet, more suitable to older men (35+). Younger people can use it, but I think it more dedicate to the mature crowd. The guava note is very strong, slightly acid, and gives an uncommon characteristic to this scent. Has high projection and relatively good longevity. I do recommend it.
Most of people agree with each other about this frag, but I think they use different words to express - it seems to be difficult to explain Solo Loewe.
This fragrance is very very well balanced. It goes to all extremes (heavy/light, sweet/sour, cold/hot) and balance it in a wonderfull way.
Solo has this big light cloud aurea, sweet, spicy/sour at the same time, kind of powdery. It makes a fresh slow sillage.
But this cloud gets warmer and warmer with the time, beacause Solo has a small hot dense oriental core.
So the dry down gets more comfort.
A tango dance...
...This fragrance seems to be a bomb in the imminence to explode, but never does. There isn't any fragrance (that I know) that is "caliente" like this one - definately has this "Latin Blood".
Use: Better for casual occasions, it's sexy. Don't need to say: very versatile.
Who ever did this 'compilation' for Solo did a great job! Very well blended.
It combines light and fruity with warm and woodsy and slightly spicey.
Soooooo much better than the 'artificial' 'blue bottle one', ( Loewe for men.)
Solo took real care and thought to blend, where... the 'other' seems to be have 'thrown together', and relies mainly on the 'blue frosted' bottle for sales.
This is an emblematic fragrance from the house of Loewe. At first, it is very fresh, like cologne water with musk and hint of herbal notes for a complement, but they're not green, pretty much like neroli and bergamot. It has clean citrusy notes, floral features and lavender, and also spicy notes of nutmeg. This is a clean fragrance, ideal for daytime, but also fits for a casual elegant evening. It's one of my favorite fragrances and I just love it!
Excellent all year round fragrance, i rock this at the office
I've never wear Spanish perfume style before. First I smell SOLO LOEWE is so nice,it's soft fruit ,fresh spicy and clean flowery. It's simply but elegance and hi class remind me a bit of GFF Bergamotto (more citrus, more fresher, clean flowery ). Both are so beautiful perfumes. When I wear it, I feel good like walk in humid land park in spring time. Good long last soft sillage. I love it and I need to try SOLO PLATINUM. SOLO is good quality and the good one for me.
Solo is a very nice smelling cologne. Like all the Loewe fragrances, this is top quality. The top fruity notes with the lavender and cinnamon make a very nice combination. It is elegant and very masculine. It lasts a very long time on me 7-8 hours.
Simply LOVE this fragrance
A Must have fragrance
This is really good, nothing smells close like it (except for the flankers).
Very pleasant fruity and sweet aroma, you smell the guava and something sweet-green if that makes any sense. It's somehow linear, with minor evolutions; but by no means it's boring. It's a classy smell, distinctive, even for the office.
Try to get it as soon as you can, it's a masterpiece from Loewe.
By the way, you can wear this thing all year round, but I think it fits better for fall.
Loewe Solo begins with strong citrus notes, mandarin, lemon, and guava which is present until the end with the nutmeg, lavender and heavy amber on the background.
Nice bottle by the way. Long lasting and moderate sillage.
if you want to buy it check the online sellers first and avoid physical stores (50-60$ not worth at all).
Overall: 7/10 .Unique.
Fantastic smell!
I'm glad people don't wear this too much beacuse it is one smell that makes you feel interesting. Like you are a really deep indivual. A thinker. And I really find myself reflecting a lot when I wear it. The name couldn't be more fitting, I figure.
Now, so many things have been said here about the smell of Solo Loewe, but I just want to point out at something different. Has this scent been another victim of the reformulation plague? I suspect so.
I remember first smelling it when my sister-in-law gave it to my brother as a present 6 years ago. And it was so strong and tenacious that I didn't think I could get away with wearing it in the hot weather I live in. Then I got my own bottle in a renowned store in my city last year. It was practically a blind buy. My bottle is maybe 1 or 2 years old after production. I don't find it nearly as strong as I remember. I have 2 more flankers of the Solo Loewe (Eau de Cologne Intense and POP) and both are stronger and have better longevity that my original Solo, which shouldn't be the case of course. Also the bottle is different-the caps on the Solos are heavy and metal. Mine is metal as well but not as heavy and solid as the ones on the other flankers I own. Nonetheless, I am certain my bottle is legit beacuse it came with an original Loewe travel purse that's out of this world.
Anyway, reformulated or not Solo Loewe continues to be an outstanding fragrance. And if they made it lighter, it's now the most gorgeous thing you can ask for in your hot summers.
Update: This is a perfect example of me approaching a fragrance with too much hype leading only to a disappointment...and returning to it later, only to find out the hype was right. This is the bomb.
This is orange Joop. (Seriously.)
This is Beck's Midnight Vultures flying out of the bottle; Sexx Laws head first in all its neon glory.
This is a loud and fun fragrance for men.
Forget about mandarin, guava, and lavender. Forget about all that as it will only confuse, lead to false analogies and missteps. Yes, it has a mandarin opening, but forget about the citrusy stuff you've known. I'm picking up a sweet, slightly tangy transparent orange-vanilla candy. And it just goes on from there. The whole thing is unapologetically synthetic, like a Sky Ferreira track. And this is a good thing. And like Ms. Ferreira's work, everything is perfectly blended and works. It works. There's lavender, guava, cinnamon, mint, everything you could imagine, but not like anything you're expecting. And if you give it a chance, it is better.
I could definitely wear this for day or night, but particularly for something fun; this is not a boring masculine or a contemplative scent. Perfect party wear, barbecue, club, etc. Spring/Summer.
Projection is tops, as is longevity. Be careful with the sprayer, as you could certainly harm yourself and others around--I'm thinking three shots MAX. (I was serious about the orange Joop comment.)
I can see why some don't like it, and I understand why I didn't either. Definitely try it before you buy it. Most importantly, expectations can really affect first impressions, especially with this one as it is very different.
4 out of 5
Amazing. Great smell, long lasting, subtle, sexy, exclusive. Can be used on all occasions. A work of art.
got this one as a gift from my uncle ! ahhhhhh can't stop smelling this stuff <3 great scent by loewe
A must have fragrance ! love the vanilla ....
I was extremely excited by the note breakdown on this one, tropical fruit, spice, amber, florals and I think Loewe know what they're doing on the whole. Attractive packaging and an very attractive girl in the shop too (she was impressed that I knew of Loewe in the first place!) This made for a 'must have' combination of factors.
However, when I tried it along side the platinum I found it to be a nice scent but not half as interesting...maybe if I give it more of a chance (which I'm prepared to do) it will shine in the future.
Still great though and I urge anyone to shun high street names like Armani, Calvin Klein, and Hugo Boss in favour of this stuff.
Perfect all round scent that makes the transition from day use to night wear very well indeed. I get that wonderful summer fruit beginning that dries down to a genuinely Spanish fare of many spices anchored to a rich affable woods base. This scent is like not very many others out there. Very unique and at the same time inoffensive yet distinctive in manner. Some fleeting similarities with the lesser Odin Owari and M7 fresh for men. The former and latter fail to deliver the total package as Solo does. A personal favorite of mine .
There's a lot going on here, and I want to like it as it is different, but like Bigsly noted, there's something very synthetic in here that just ruins it. Not sure what that particular note is, but it just smells like chemicals and distracts from the citrus and guava. Can't see myself wearing this one because of it.
Whether it's iso e super or a synthetic wood note here, it's ruins the scent for me. It's not as strong a wood note as in the wood-dominant scents, but after the first hour everything becomes rather tame in general. At first, you get the lavender, citrus, and herbs, which are nice, but that synthetic element is just too strong for me. This may be great for impressing others in particular contexts, but I don't find it enjoyable as a "personal fragrance."
I like this to a degree and wear it every so often. It's very different and musky. The Guava is it's staple. Test before buying.
I bought solo Loewe because of the great reviews. And thanks to all of them, they were right!
You know when you keep searching and looking for "the" fragrance, the one that feels perfect for you?
Well, even though I didn't expect it, this is the one for me.
It literally blends immediately with my skin chemistry, it's so smooth, masculine and classic. It feels truly natural almost as if this scent comes out of my pores.
I was reading the notes, and they look like a mélange of ingredients that would clash, but on the contrary, they all work wonderfully, creating an irresistible masterpiece.
I only repeated fragrances twice in my life, Aura by Jacomo and Lalique White. Would I buy Solo Loewe again? Yes!
Can't ge enough of it! One of the best colognes of all times! A masterpiece!
Freshness thriving.
Might refreshing.
Perfection simple.
Simplicity of perfection.
Excellence brilliant.
The brightness of excellence.
This perfume screams: "I am a man who is using a perfume cool for summer but not waive the excellence and strength that characterizes the best perfumes (which are usually more appropriate for winter)."
Excellent longevity and projection.
The fresh scent bolder in the world.
Loewe surprises again.
I want one.
EXCELLENT.
Solo Loewe was a big surprise for me. When I got a sample of this perfume, in 2008 (although it was launched in 2004), I tested it on the skin and I confess that I didn't like it, because it has a very strong smell on the output, something kind of old and sweet, getting quite cloying.
But, as I should know, a fragrance is not judged by its output; it is necessary to allow time for it to evolve on the skin and really "show its face". Well, about 30 minutes later, I remember feeling a very tasty smell exhaling and when I smelled my arm I thought: “Wow, this fragrance is amazing!”. I remember, as if it were today, that I couldn't stop thinking about this perfume until the day I finally managed to buy my first bottle.
Its concept is to harmonize extremes. It was inspired by the city of Toledo, around the 12th and 13th centuries, where contrasting civilizations lived side by side, in perfect harmony.
The guava note is, in my opinion, the great star of this composition: it is different and brings a Latin spirit. Cashmere wood is delicious! So, we have nutmeg, cinnamon, anise, mint, and tangerine in the heart notes. Well, just with those notes I would be able to create another great perfume! To complete the task, we found oakmoss and a wonderful vanilla at the base, together with musk, amber, and wood.
What else can I say? Solo Loewe is powerful, versatile, modern, luxurious, etc. The bottle is interesting and the metal finishings convey elegance. Its evolution on the skin is perfect and lasts for more than ten hours!
It was a blind buy, but what a nice surprise! A fragrance for all seasons and climate. Can easily be a signature frag. Lot of compliments wearing this for sure!
Sillage 8/10
Longevity 10/10 (10 hours for an EDT)
Scent 9/10
Overall 9/10
Masterpiece!!!
I'm using SOLO for the first time today and DAMN, this juice is simply amazing. first day and i have been stopped by 2 ladies asking which cologne i'm wearing. maybe it's just me but i also get a hint of tobacco which is really really good.
A+ from my side.
now i'm interested in checking out some other fragrances by LOEWE.
good perfumes smell heavy and disturbing for first 30 sec., but after they smells original.
masterpieces need patient.(e.g; guerlain heritage edp, lanvin arpage, tom of finland, montale black aoud etc.)you can add the list
i just got this fragrance as a birthday present from my uncle. loewe has become my favorite perfume house, and after trying loewe 7, 7 natural and agua de loewe él, i can say this one doesn't dissapoint, and smells not only masculine, but like a true gentleman. like other loewe fragrances, i think this one has a really natural feel, smooth and smokey and a bit spicy at the same time, with sort of "subliminal" citruses. i'd say this one smells soothing, like a warm night and fresh air coming from the window. i could go on forever talking about it, but one word may be enough: beautiful.
you never tried it yet?
that means, you are not a perfume lover.
i used it 3 years back . I still remember, how does it smell. This is very sophisticated ,gentle and decent cologne. Some one mentioned in the previous comments, as this cologne gives u a personality, its true. A very delicate citric dimension with a great longevity. now i wanna get it once again ....
If u like smooth classy scents , then this is the
1 for u
perfection , wat more can i say.
Edit: I don't see it now to be perfection, sorry.
Just exquisite!!! This is the kind of perfume that gives you personality. Love it!!!
Little disappointed... still trying.
Time after time... ok, after a month I surrender, it's a great fragance, the notes change softly in the skin, but beautifully. Amazing longevity, about 10h easily. Nice casual scent, good to stay home, shopping... you runaway of the marketting scents.
A very delicious and wearable scent; it is very different from all the male fragrances, often obvious or cheap, although isn't a niche product.
It's citrusy in the head notes, the mandarine orange mixed with bergamot is sweet but non so much; and the cinnamon and the nutmeg are sharp in a good way.
Amber and oakmoss are very well mixed in the end.
It's very longlasting.
Absolutely to try, good for all the wheather and all the day.
its really a great perfume. i love the smell of lavender on it. longevity of it is good enough for me. 2 sprays on my body is good enough to catch everyones attention. i never get a day wearing solo loewe without my friends asking " what a good fresh-masculine smell" that is.. this perfume is one of my top list most asked perfume i wear and so that explain i finished 3 bottles in 2 years. really a great scent, truely SOLO.
I know this review won't be very helpful to those reading this, but I just wanted to add that this one was a HUGE disappointment based on the overwhelmingly postitive reviews.
There's absolutely not one thing special or great about this fragrance.
My wife was sitting on the couch next to me and she asked me what I was doing (I was trying to hide my disappointment in my Solo Loewe)...I had her sniff my hand and and my chest. She had no idea what scent was where or what either scent actually was. I had Zirh Corduroy on one body part and Solo Loewe on the other. She liked Corduroy better and so did I, and I'm not all that gung ho on Corduroy.
It is not overpowering which I like, but it doesn't last and it isn't multi-faceted. Disappointing and remains so throughout.
This is the one should be called Absoluto. One of a kind, first and left with deep impression that no other creation would rival this.
In years of trying and having to purchased second bottle, this one will definetely a repeat.
When I think of the perfect definition of masculinity, this is one of the perfumes that come to my mind. Absolutely great.
Wonderful, really impresive scent. Can`t find that longevity , in my case it isn`t long lasting...I expect to handle it better. Don`t has a monster projection, either. But is magnificent , vrey original, and a great drydown.... Recommend it, no doubt. !
i have this fragrance and it is definately one of my faves, it has 2 things that EVERY fragrance should have, better projection than a megaphone and Longevity that could survive a nuclear war... i was actually very surprised to find it didnt have any rum notes or any alcoholic notes in it because at some point in the middle notes it gets to smell kinda boozy, but i must say that it is definitely a jewel in my arsenal of 17 frags, recommended age is definitely aimed at a more mature crowd (college and up) all and all id give this frag an 8.5 o.o. 10 (gets complimented like crazy )
this perfume has the craziest staying power i have ever known! i took a long hot shower, plenty of lavender scent shower gel, .... rinse off.... towel dry... my skin still smells SOLO! WOW! A BIG BIG WOW! and most importantly... i like the smell! just like a cocky matador... Love Loewe!
-Mr. Almond-
THis is nice, but cant get like to it.
hi , as apparent, I am a fan of Loewe frag., especially Solo...the opening of which is just heavy spices...minutes on and it'll be something magical to a degree that u can not stop sniffing your radial hand !
mix of floral, spice and wood ..but in a great formula.
longevity is great on my skin (+6).
-4 bottles off and continue on doing so every now and then.
This is such a wonderful, amazing creation! Has nothing to do with Live Jazz in my opinion. Live Jazz is an OK fresh herbal fragrance, nothing exceptional, but Solo is very different. Light and intense at the same time, full of character, mesmerizing, refined, and UNIQUE!
I've read somewhere it contains olive as well, and it's not listed here.
Unfortunately, it's pretty rare, the distribution is so bad! Shame on you Loewe :)
For me it's a true Masterpiece, nothing is close to it. I wish it was more available and less expensive. And the bottle is great too! ;)
PERFECT! :)
i have tried many vanilla based perfumes and they approximately share the same type of sweet smell, Solo Loewe however differs from all of them and i think here comes the name SOLO. there is a soft spicy hint through out the lifetime of the fragrance that mixes very well with the unique sweet smell of Solo which gives an overall nose catching fragrance.
i dont actually get the citrus in it, which doesnt make it fresh, but on the other hand, i dont find it much cloying.
i would also prefer to wear it on colder weather.
I love this scent. It is unique and strikes a good counter-balance between classical and modern frgrance. It is strong in its opening but when the aldehydes comes into play it calms down and gives it an almost saffron feel similar to Tom of Finland. I find it works in all weather and seasons and is a compliment magnet. Best of all it makes a good signature scent because not many people will own this so you wont smell like everyone else.
This fragrance is a star! Enough said.
Good in every way and I like it very much.
Delicious, interesting, very sexy, makes you want to get closer and smell the wearer(I smelled it first on someone and asked that person what he was wearing).I sprayed it on my wrist at the shop and loved how it boosted my fantasy. And it lasts VERY long.I like citrus, vanilla, pink pepper and musk in it.Delicious indeed, for a very special man.
In the first few minutes I find Solo very cloying. I think it's the guava that gives it a very strong, sweet touch. After a few minutes, though, it starts to settle and reveal its beauty and uniqueness. If you have thought it stops here, you're dead wrong. It goes on evolving and the base notes come to linger for a few hours on your skin. A perfect blend of ambar and vanilla, with the distant but still present touch of guava, which finally plays its most distinctive role during drydown.
Special and very charming.
amazing fragrance i love it, then again all of loewes fragrances are superb.
This EDT is brilliant. A masculine fragrance with wooden opening bit cool, but nice, clean, its middle notes are quite nice, very seductive, wood tones and spices unique (I can not really distinguish the notes but it is very harmonious whole), has a tone really manly and seductive. The tone of the wood is wonderful, powerful, smooth, relaxing, young man. The base notes are wood with a beautiful amber mixed.
This fragrance really surprised me, has a complexity out of standard. It has an age range from men recently out of college, to really mature men. Not very suitable for teens. It can be used in any season, but is mainly nocturnal and in such case can be used on the day in cold weather. A flavoring highly recommended for formal situations, it really smells like to prepare for a gala dinner. Their use in appropriate situations is very romantic, wood notes and spices are too seductive, but I think is more for special occasions.
This impressive EDT lasts on my skin, about 14 hours. Truly a modern classic fragrance. One of the best fragrances I've smelled.
This scent is very good, in my opinion shows class and elegance. Sillage is above average and longevity is excellent. I will say that I have taken over six hours and still receive them easily, without being intrusive. Really is a very pleasant and a persistent scent.
Loewe Congratulations for this creation! In my opinion is the best fragrance of this brand, with the only "but" the price; this fragrance still deserves and well worth.
This is a "must have" fragance! 9/10 for me
Notes: lemon, lavender, thyme, mandarine, rosemary, boldo, white ginger flower, myrthle flower, cinamom, Guava, mate, pink pepper, anise buds, cashmere wood, costus, patchouli.
This perfume is my favourite from the Spaniard range, and really stands out from the bold Spanish perfumery market.
It has a really cool mixture of floral yet spicy notes, with a misterious background of wet stone accord (a blend of guava essence, rosemary, thyme and mate), melting together into a great fragrance, very easy to wear, extremely addictive, sexy as hell, masculine and with a bonus of being quite affordable too.
The whole scent is centered in the combination of soft spices with the recreated mineral note of the stone accord, against the evocative, sexy, yet classy crisp notes of mhyrth flower and ginger flower.
The juice start zesty but in a dark way (the closest similirity could be Bvlgary Aqva opening despiste of the difference of the notes).
The presence of the mandarine gives a straightforward path of the flowers, like a gorgeous heady halo around you, and the initial incorporation of the cinammom just in the background.
Specially the ginger flower here is the key,(if you didn't smell it isolated you may try Kenzoki Ginger flower body spray from Kenzo; this is exactly how the ginger flower smells in flesh. Not feminine at all, gorgeous, crisp and kind of citrusy in a way).
The myrthle flower is quite hypnotic but it has, at the same time a fresh aroma that bring me nostalgic images of a walk by the sea breeze in the mediterranean.
Solo loewe is not aquatic but it has a vague reminiscence of this olfative family.
The whole cologne is heady and the perfume dries down marvellous with hints of spices, patchouli and clean woods, with a blink of the top floral notes.
The whole formula reamins from the top to the bottom balenced, not overly sweet, not too light, never too flowery. Just calm and glorious.
In the dry down the compostion of the stone accord it's more noticiable, marvellous.
Solo Loewe is just gorgeous, well done, with a clever perfect blend of noble simple notes.
i have a lot of colognes but this one is most complimented scent!!! everyone, especially women loves this and always asked me what it is!!!i must admit, that i dont love this personally, but it s a heart melting for opposite sex :D i m looking forward to new solo pop :D
One of the best colognes I've ever had in my life, my best friend gave it to me on my birthday, what I really like about this cologne is longevity, it's noticeably sexy that makes any girl falls for you once she smells it, it is officially my signature and I gotta keep a bottle near every time..
One of a kind
Amazing perfume. Unique mix of floral-fruity-musky-woody notes in a complex but comfortable base. Versatile, manly and very original. For day or night is amazing.
longevity and sillage at best, i want to purchase it again.
great , original and lognlasting,It's a fragrance I can never give up . I have received lots of compliments on it .
For a man who bears strong character with self-confidence. SOLO LOEWE is a very original and exclusive composition of citruses, spices and musk, a pure blend reflecting the colors of the modern world in to an up to date man.
This one is a sweet-sensual perfume with a touch of elegance in it. A fragrance for a romantic night or a day-wear in a cold winter day.
It starts with a sweet citric spicy scent, all thou the lavender seems to be the most intense note.
Then, in the heart notes u can feel a thick sweetness, like honey & here the cinnamon is the most memorable note for me.
At base wood takes over & gives the fragrance the touch of elegance that makes it very comforting to wear. The base note feels like a sweet version of Visit by Azzaro.
The scent is very distinctive & long lasting. Overall, a very good fragrance.
The only disadvantage i see in it is that the sweetness can make some ppl "dizzy", it's only made for ppl with a nose for strong/heavy/sweet scents.
This one has some kind of addictive notes that I can't stop smelling the back of my hand. Two thumbs up!
hey ,its my day wear and not all guyz can fit this scent .. and they love im wearing it .super long lasting obsession, and sensual sexy.
It's a very well done perfume, close to be a masterpiece for me. This blend is very noticeable, particularly fruity notes, but it is not citrusy or a daywear cologne. Despite it is not declared above, I can smell guava. It is strong and potent, which lasts forever on my skin and, like my other "must have", as L'Anarchiste by Caron or M7 by YSL, everybody will ask you about this one and describe it as "delicious".
A question for those who believe that Dior homme (and its flankers) is the sexiest fragrance ever made, have you ever try/smell Solo by Loewe? I think you don't.
An all year round masterpiece!!
Yes!
Solo is a very nice smelling cologne. Like all the Loewe fragrances, this is top quality. The top fruity notes with the lavender and cinnamon make a very nice combination. It is elegant and very masculine. It lasts a very long time on me 7-8 hours.
Disappointing and remains so throughout.
blind bought a 50ml bottle, tested it four separate times and hated it more with each wear. sold it off two weeks after purchase.
uninspired air freshener. it truly smells like it came from an aerosol can of Glade. cloying, artificial, and unpleasant.
