[Chorus] Now I'm goin' slow-mo 빛이 나는 솔로 I'm goin' solo-lo-lo-lo-lo-lo-lo I'm goin' solo-lo-lo-lo-lo-lo-lo

“SOLO” is the first song released for the solo projects of BLACKPINK ’s members.
In this personal song, Jennie shows her delicate, feminine but independent side, which she couldn’t have expressed as a member of BLACKPINK. Lyrically, the track talks about breaking free from a toxic relationship and learning to love yourself even if you’re left broken-hearted.
The song was first performed live on November 10, 2018, in BLACKPINK’s first-ever Seoul concert In Your Area . Jennie’s debut single premiered on VLive’s special show “All About Jennie.”
On October 15, 2020, “SOLO” became the most streamed song by a Korean soloist in Spotify history, passing PSY ’s “Gangnam Style.”
SOLO is about the story of many girls who, rather than being dumped, think it should be the case that they be someone who they’re not to suit their partner. Because they want to be loved. I wanted to express the feelings of those girls. Even though you work so hard at it, you end up getting hurt and frustrated, so rather than keep up an appearance that isn’t yourself, go and find your own self. It’s a song that expresses freedom.
JENNIE watched the “MAKING FILM” of the music video for the first time during the SOLO COUNTDOWN broadcast on VLive, where she gave more insight on the song, the pre-production, and the music video.

A Good Holiday Read

Enjoyable read with enough technical content to make it interesting, only spoiled by the petulant camera men and prima dona support 'drivers' (heli-pilot 'Q').

“You’re traveling alone? Aren’t you lonely?” I hear this countless times while traveling solo and it’s always in a tone of amazement. I simply reply with a smile and, “I’m traveling alone, not lonely.”
I’m just your average fifty-something-year-old gal living life solo. It wasn’t always that way but as life takes its twists and turns, I’ve found myself navigating this world alone. Rather than waiting for Mr. Right or finding a travel buddy to coordinate vacation schedules with, I’ve decided rather than giving up what I love – the adventure of travel – to embrace traveling solo.
Originally from Western New York in the suburbs of Buffalo, a hiking trail led me to a career path in tourism where I’ve worked for more than 20 years including 10 years with a park management company in Yellowstone, Death Valley and Everglades National Park. Business and personal trips have led me throughout the United States along with visits to Brazil, Canada and Europe. Curiosity led me to Afghanistan, Cuba and Japan to understand the cultures. I currently live in Southwest Florida and with easy access to the Southeastern U.S., I enjoy discovering the region’s quirky, outdoor and offbeat attractions.
I founded SoloTravelGirl.com because I found myself traveling alone, not lonely. My personal experiences are meant to inspire and empower other travelers to shed their fears and travel solo. I admit to still having uncomfortable butterflies when dining alone in a chichi restaurant or participating in an activity geared toward couples or families, but I shrug off my insecurities and indulge in the moment of discovery and adventure.
Topics I blog about include, domestic and international travel, culinary, nature-based/outdoor adventures, solo travel, girlfriend getaways, product reviews and travels with a dog.
In 2020, the coronavirus pandemic afforded me the time to publish my first book, A to Z of a Solo Travel Girl: Traits of Women Who Travel Alone, Not Lonely.
Make no mistake, I don’t take myself seriously, yet I hope followers of SoloTravelGirl.com are inspired to shed their fears and travel solo. Welcome and enjoy the ride!
I’ve been dabbling in social media since 2004 or 2005. Tom was my first social media friend (yes, I still have a MySpace account). My personal blog is QuirkyKitschGirl.com and while living in Tallahassee, I kept QKGTallahassee.com.
Originally from Buffalo, N.Y., a hiking trail led Jennifer Huber to a career path in the tourism industry for more than 30 years. She spent a decade with a park management company in Yellowstone, Death Valley, and Everglades National Parks.
She founded the travel blog, SoloTravelGirl.com with the goal of inspiring others to travel alone, not lonely. The unexpected death of her former husband in 2008 reminded her how short life is. His passing was a catalyst for sharing her experiences with the goal of inspiring and empowering others to travel solo.
Jennifer holds a Travel Marketing Professional certification from the Southeast Tourism Society, is a certified food judge, member of the NASA Social community, and alum of the FBI Citizens Academy. She left the tourism industry the end of 2020 and at the age of 50, began a new career.
When not traveling, she is either in the kitchen, practicing her photography skills, or road tripping with her dog, Radcliff.
