The first electric moped in the world, brand Solo Electra 720, built in 1973. Only 2323 original kilometers, out of use since 1980. Higher Capacity Solo770 Battery Baton and Solo727 Charger replacing Solo760 Battery Baton and Solo726 Charger
As part of our continuous improvement policy, we are introducing a new and improved version of the Solo760 Battery Baton and the Solo726 Charger.
The change to, what will be, higher capacity batons is driven by our suppliers as they move to higher capacity cells demanded by other industries – which has made the current cells increasingly difficult to source.
The new Solo770 Battery Baton is a 3000mAh version of the Solo760 (2200mAh). It allows greater efficiency on site as it gives more tests per battery, for the same charge time as before but provided by the new Solo727 charger.
This Solo727 charger provides the same functionality as before – enabling fast charging of Battery Batons from both mains power and in-vehicle outlets.
The older Solo760 batons and Solo726 charger continue to work with Solo, Testifire, and Scorpion products, and do not need to be replaced unless they have reached the end of their useful life.
Solo 760 battery batons will be replaced by Solo 770 battery batons
Solo 726 charger for use with the Solo 760 will be replaced with the Solo 727 charger for use with the Solo 770 batons
Solo 760 and Solo 726 will continue to be available as spares
What happens to the Solo and Testifire kits?
All existing Solo & Testifire kits that include the products below will be updated to include the battery batons and charger:
Solo Battery Batons are used with the follow products:
NOTE : All existing 2-baton kits that include the above products will be updated to include the higher-capacity batteries and charger, with existing part numbers staying the same.
1-baton kits are now also available for those users for whom a single higher-capacity baton will be sufficient. These kits will have new part numbers.
Each charger and battery combination is designed and certified to give a 60-90 minutes charge time i.e. Solo726 charges Solo760 batons, and Solo727 charges Solo770 batons.
To help match the battery to the charger, a red sleeve has been added to the Solo727 Charger (on the battery lead) which corresponds to a red collar on the top of the Solo727 battery baton.
The Solo726 charger and Solo760 battery baton continue to be all black.
Always ensure that the correct pairing of battery baton and charger is used. No damage will occur if they are mismatched. The Solo727 charger will not charge Solo760 batons.
The new higher capacity battery baton and charger will be rolled out to our various markets starting from 1 st June 2016.
The Solo760 Battery Baton and Solo726 charger will continue to be available separately as spares for a period of at least 12 months after the release of the Solo727 and Solo770 i.e. until June 2017.
