The mass ledger is the lie detector

One row per part. volume x density vs the title-block mass decides everything: a rebuilt plate hit 0.47399 kg -> 0.47 exactly; another part came in +11.4% and was flagged for rework before anyone looked at geometry.

True source only

Dimension from the original PDF, never a converted PNG. PNGs are proxies that carry old versions, crops and annotation drift.

Read-only first

Before touching a model, compare bbox + feature list against the drawing and decide fix-vs-rebuild. Do not assume a mismatch is just a hole position.

Modeling rules that cost us failures

• Sketches fully defined (status 3), every time.
• Holes via Hole Wizard. A plain extrude-cut yields a MOD-DIAM placeholder and no hole callout.
• Equal-distance feature chamfers - otherwise the drawing cannot print C1. Judge by body faces, not API proxies (GetEdgeChamferDistance lies).
• CreateCenterRectangle args 4/5 are absolute corner coordinates, not half-widths.
• Read volume, act, read volume again, save only if it makes sense. err=0 means nothing.

Drawing layout recipe

• Paper gap = model gap x scale. 2.5 mm text needs 4-5 mm of paper; at 1:2 a 6.5 mm dim is guaranteed to overlap - stagger rows.
• Moving a dimension = delete + recreate. SetPosition moves the text only, not the line.
• A hole callout is one block; editing one line wipes the whole callout. Multi-line pitch 13 mm.
• Leaders above 90 degrees to text, no leader crossings (check endpoint coordinates), 10 mm margin to the frame.

Multi-agent discipline on one machine

• Several agent windows share one SolidWorks instance: lock protocol, acquire one step, release; 15-minute deadlock takeover.
• A lock older than 15 minutes is not necessarily dead - never steal from a live task.
• One ledger is the only progress source. Delivery means evidence: volume, mass, sketch status, exported views - not a sentence saying done.
