PUNKY Brewster star Soleil Moon Frye said she got a breast reduction as a teen.
The 44-year-old explained her decision by sharing that bullies called her "Punky Boobster."
Soleil opened up about her breast reduction in her new documentary Kid 90, which features the actress sharing her memories, intimate home videos and personal diaries.
She further elaborated about the procedure while speaking to PEOPLE , sharing that she received the wrong kind of attention from fans when the show ended in 1988.
The actress told the outlet: "I was in this position where I was going through puberty, and I developed very quickly.
"Everywhere I went I was called Punky Boobster, and people would stare directly at my boobs."
She recalled being offered "tits and ass roles," adding that the attention made her uncomfortable in her own skin.
Soleil said: "No one is in charge of how their body develops.
"But there was so much shame about it."
She decided to get a breast reduction when she was 16, sharing: "My shoulders had indentations, I had back problems, there were so many different issues."
Soleil added that she now loves and accepts her body, stating: "My experiences made me who I am today.
"And as much of a roller coaster as it was, I wouldn't change one thing."
She starred as the titular character on Punky Brewster from 1984-1988, which she recently reprised the role in the show's revival.
She had just turned 18 at the time, while the Two And A Half Men star was 29.
Despite their age gap, the Saved By The Bell alum said Charlie, 55, was “so kind and loving."
She added the two have maintained a friendship in the years since.
Soleil also addressed claims made by child star Corey Feldman in his 2020 documentary that alleged Charlie “raped” his best friend , the late Corey Haim , when he was 19.
She said: “I can only speak to my experience and what the diaries say. I don’t know about anyone else’s experiences.
“I don’t think people are devils or angels."
Charlie denied that he raped Corey, whom Soleil knew growing up.
The actress split from her husband Jason Goldberg, 48, in December 2020 after 22 years of marriage.
The couple, who share four children together – Poet Sienna Rose, 15, Jagger Joseph Blue, 12, Lyric Sonny Roads, 6, and Story, 4 – wed in 1998.
They were believed to have one the strongest marriages in the entertainment business.

Growing up as a child star can be difficult, especially when you’re a young girl hitting puberty. Soleil Moon Frye recently recalled when she started to develop faster than other girls her age, and how she was objectified for her body — even being called “Punky Boobster” — due to the size of her rather larger breasts.
“Everywhere I go, people are like, ‘You’re so grown up,’ which is another way of saying your tits are so big,” she detailed in the Hulu documentary Kid90 , adding that she was almost an E cup as a teenager. “ The roles I was getting offered at 13, 14 years old are tits and a** roles and I’m 13. I went from this amazing childhood to almost being forced into adulthood.”
As she was making the docuseries, Moon Frye revisited decades-old videos, audio recordings and diary entries from her time as a child star. In an audio recording as a teen, she can be heard saying: “ I just want people to see me for the person I am inside. And these last couple weeks have been weird. You know, with seeing older people and having guys pinch my ass. It’s a difference from when I was little.”
After being adored as a child prodigy and receiving what was claimed to be “10,000 fan letters a week” in the docuseries, once Punky Brewster came to an end, Moon Frye found herself having an identity crisis . Following her appearance on hit TV series, Saved by the Bell and The Wonder Years , where she felt she was hired to spotlight her breasts, the actress decided to get a boob reduction at 16 years old — she even claims one of the female doctors operating on her asked for an autograph before she went under the knife.
As OK! previously reported , some of the other bombshell revelations from the Kid90 documentary were when Moon Frye revealed she was sexually assaulted at 17. “He asked if I’d say that he had raped me, but I wouldn’t. I was also to blame for my forwardness,” she’d written in her diary at the time.
Moon Frye also detailed losing her virginity to Hollywood legend Charlie Sheen at 18. The actor was 29 at the time. She described the Two and Half Men star as “so kind and loving,” and said the two have maintained a friendship throughout their lives.
In the documentary, Moon Frye revisits a journal entry from December, 18, 1994, the day she lost her “virginity” to Sheen. “It’s been the most strange and incredible day ever,” she said. “He’s somebody I’ve had a crush on for years . He's a person that intrigues me and excites me.” She called Sheen her “Mr. Big” — Carrie Bradshaw’s on-and-off love in the hit series Sex and the City.
The documentary also features Moon Frye’s many A-list friends, including Brian Austin Green , Mark-Paul Gosselaar and David Arquette . Green recalled meeting Frye for the first time at a party with Johnny Depp and Michael Jackson ’s chimp, Bubbles.
“Literally there were like 12 kids in the business, so we all knew everyone. We all knew each other,” Green said in the doc, as footage showed him, Moon Frye, Sara Gilbert , Leonardo DiCaprio , Mario Lopez and Mark Wahlberg .
