El Tarter is a small village at 1, metres, approximately 1. It offers a much more laid back holiday experience than the neighbouring resort of Soldeu, with just a handful of restaurants and bars plus a small supermarket. El Tarter is a popular spot for families due to the great selection of self-catering accommodation on offer, there are also a few larger, good quality hotels with easy access to the slopes. For single travellers or those on a budget there is a great hostel located in the village. However, there is a small car park in the village centre by the old church as well as a huge car park in the valley bottom by the access to the slopes. Leading to the slopes are a gondola and a chairlift, the gondola being found at the far end of the main car park, and the chairlift being located up the footpath at the opposite end of the car park by the ticket desk and other facilities. If you are a beginner you should take the gondola up, then you will find the school office and meeting point just to the right when you get off at the top. El Tarter forms a part of the Grandvalira ski area, so from here you will be able to access all km of slopes. If you have booked your rental equipment through our online shop you will be collecting it from Nordic Esports which is in front of the chairlift.
