Software Engineering Team Lead, LearnWith.AI (Remote) - $200,000/year USD

We are seeking Technical Team Leads to ensure quality and timely delivery across our application-level products. In this role, you will guide a compact team of 3-5 engineers as they build educational applications serving thousands of students.

This is a player-coach position: half your time will be spent hands-on developing sophisticated features, and half enabling and mentoring your team. You will define quality expectations, create reusable patterns, conduct code reviews that educate, and foster engineer development. You own team results, not just individual contributions.
Lean teams, substantial ownership, minimal overhead. Technical leadership is your domain; people management responsibilities lie elsewhere.
What You Will Be Doing
* Developing sophisticated features that serve as templates for your team's work
* Conducting pull request reviews with thorough, educational commentary
* Mentoring engineers via pair programming and constructive feedback
* Orchestrating technical initiatives and decomposing requirements into actionable work
* Defining quality benchmarks and ensuring consistent adherence across the team
What You Won’t Be Doing
* Handling personnel matters (recruitment, termination, performance evaluations, career planning)
* Building platform-level or infrastructure components
* Spending time in constant meetings
* Designing architecture in isolation without hands-on implementation
Basic Requirements
Software Engineering Team Lead key responsibilities
* At least 5 years of full-stack development experience
* At least 2 years in a lead role (reviewing others' work, mentoring engineers, establishing team practices)
* Track record of shipping SaaS products
* Experience with AI tools in development workflow
* Demonstrated ability to help other engineers improve and grow

Working with us
This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $100 USD/hour, which equates to $200,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
