NEAR Protocol is looking for a Software Engineer with experience building and maintaining developer-facing libraries, SDKs, and APIs, to help us support the NEAR wallet ecosystem. In this role, you will maintain and expand JavaScript & TypeScript libraries that enable developers to build applications on the NEAR blockchain, and participate in research at the forefront of digital asset user and developer experience.


Qualifications

  • Experience writing backend systems using JavaScript (TypeScript experience is a plus!)
  • 5+ years experience building production applications, libraries, and APIs
  • Demonstrated experience writing well-structured, clean, maintainable code
  • Ability to learn new languages, APIs and SDKs quickly
  • Experience and interest in building and documenting developer-facing tools
  • Strong communication and remote friendly working skills

Nice-to-haves

  • Open source contributions and previous or continued involvement in open source communities
  • Familiarity with Ethereum development and related technologies (web3.js, ethers.js, etc)
  • Familiarity with other crypto or blockchain technologies
  • Experience working at a startup

Responsibilities

  • Designing, building, and maintaining the JavaScript & TypeScript libraries and SDKs that support the NEAR wallet ecosystem
  • Collaborating with internal and external engineers and community members
  • Create and contribute to documentation related to various developer libraries and APIs
  • Help train and mentor more junior engineers
