Believe it or not, back in the freewheeling days of the '90s, you couldn't just find porn anywhere you wanted on the Internet in a matter of seconds. Back in those days, you had to go out in public to seek it out or, at the very least, pay the money for some sort of premium cable network. That was back in the early days of HBO, when raunchy shows like Taxicab Confessions , Real Sex , Cathouse , and specials starring adult film star Katie Morgan were not so easily available.
But, as the L.A. Times reports , HBO has removed all of its erotic adult movies and TV shows from its channels and streaming services.
“Over the past several years HBO has been winding down its late-night adult fare,” an HBO representative told the L.A. Times . “While we’re greatly ramping up our other original program offerings, there hasn’t been a strong demand for this kind of adult programming, perhaps because it’s easily available elsewhere.”
It makes sense, especially when people would probably give up porn for a year just to see the final season of Game of Thrones right now.
As the Times reports, the adult programming on HBO originated in the early '90s, before it had become a home to prestige TV shows like The Sopranos . Since then, as HBO became a part of AT&T after the acquisition of Time Warner Inc., the adult content is not "a favorite of the new, strait-laced owners."
The Times also points out that porn is very popular and also very easy to find on the Internet.
RIP Cathouse . Now HBO subscribers will just have to watch The Deuce —a TV show about porn.

‘Basic Instinct,’ a neo-noir sexual thriller starring Michael Douglas, Sharon Stone, George Dzundza, and Jeanne Tripplehorn, is a standout performance. Catherine Tramell, a prominent mystery novelist, finds herself in a world of problems when she is suspected of murdering a rock musician in the Paul Verhoeven directed film.
When Nick Curran, a police officer from San Francisco, accepts the case and begins investigating Catherine, she seduces him. They end up having a hot relationship. Unfortunately for Nick, things are just getting more complicated as a series of seemingly unrelated deaths continues unabated. The suspense drama contains some of the most sexually suggestive sequences you’re likely to see, making it a must-see.

Marquise de Merteuil, set in 18th century France, begs her ex-lover, Vicomte de Valmont, to seduce the future bride of another ex-lover. In exchange, the two will be able to spend the night together. The film is enthralling and dramatic, and it contains everything one could wish for. Glenn Close and John Malkovich have outstanding performances, and the film’s heated interactions are sure to leave you speechless.

‘Fatale,’ directed by Deon Taylor, is a thriller about Derrick Tyler, a sports agent whose ideal existence is thrown into disarray after a wild one-night encounter with a mysterious woman who turns out to be a detective. Tyler can only watch helplessly as his relationship and career fall apart as she seeks to tie him in her current probe. He quickly understands, however, that his own life is at jeopardy, and he must risk everything in order to fight for everything. There are four hot, sexually provocative scenes in the film, some of which are graphic.

‘Fear’ is a psychological thriller that follows David McCall, a 23-year-old man who falls in love with Nicole Walker, a young adult. David’s pleasant nature finally wins over the latter, who hails from an important and rich family. Steven, the family patriarch, has never been comfortable with Nicole’s connection with David and remains skeptical of him, despite the fact that the rest of the family pretends to like him. As the novel progresses, Steven’s concerns prove to be well-founded, as David becomes increasingly dominating and eventually reveals his violent impulses.

The story follows Gia Carangi as she travels to New York City to pursue her aspirations of becoming a model. She meets Wilhelmina Cooper, a high-powered agent who is well-versed in the ways of the world, soon after she arrives. Gia is taken under the woman’s wing. Gia begins to reach for the stars with Cooper’s support and her natural inclination. Cooper dies just as Gia reaches the peak of the modeling business, destroying her life. She loses control and goes to drugs, threatening to lose everything she has worked so hard for. Why is this ostensibly dramatic film so appealing? Angelina Jolie plays Gia, and she has a lot of passionate interactions with a woman named Linda in the film (Elizabeth Mitchell).

‘Hemingway and Gellhorn,’ directed by Philip Kaufman, is a romantic drama film about a famous love tale formed out of conflict. The film follows literary superstar Ernest Hemingway as he meets and eventually falls in love with war correspondent Martha Gellhorn during one of the most tumultuous years of the twentieth century. The film, starring Nicole Kidman and Clive Owen, provides insight into Hemingway’s life during World War II and allows spectators to witness the literary genius’s love story from a new perspective.

‘Lovelace,’ a biographical drama film directed by Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman, following Linda Susan Boreman, a young woman who moves to Florida with her parents. She then goes under the stage name Linda Lovelace and appears in the pornographic film ‘Deep Throat’ a few years later. For the young adult, Golden Age Porn proves to be life-changing, as she is catapulted as a spokeswoman for sexual freedom and becomes a global celebrity. Linda is struggling inwardly, despite how great her life appears to be on the outside. She eventually unveils her secrets to the public after many years of rising to popularity.

In ‘Magic Mike,’ it’s raining men, and you won’t know which one to gaze at. The plot revolves around Mike, an experienced stripper who mentors a newer performer known as The Kid. He instructs the young man on how to party, make quick money, and pick up ladies. If you need an excuse to see this film, it’s because Channing Tatum radiates sexiness in every moment.

‘Romance & Cigarettes,’ a musical romantic comedy film directed, co-produced, and co-written by John Turturro, stars James Gandolfini, Susan Sarandon, and Kate Winslet. Nick’s life as an ironworker in New York is turned upside down when he has an affair with a lady much younger than him. Nick is pushed out of the house after his wife discovers the truth, and he is forced to make some difficult choices. The musical contains strong love scenes in which Nick engages in an illegitimate affair.

The film ‘Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down!’ is a dark romantic comedy about an infatuation. The film follows Ricky, a deranged man who, after being freed from a mental institution, kidnaps B-movie starlet Marina. Unfortunately, Marina has forgotten about their fling when she was a drug addict many years ago, but Ricky is determined to make her fall in love with him. Will the forced romance work out in the end? The dark romantic comedy directed by Pedro Almodóvar has multiple semi-naked sex scenes and is a compelling movie for fans of dark romantic comedies.

Love Camp (also known as Die Todesgöttin des Liebescamps ) is a 1981, West German softcore rock musical—aka everything you never realized you wanted a porn movie to be. The movie stars sex symbol Laura Gemser and is all about free love nad sexual liberation.
This 2014 erotic drama (which is loosely based on the 1956 Japanese novel of the same name) stars David Arquette and Bai Ling and tells the story of a married couple who begin keeping sex diaries to document their love life.

Bikini Jones faces off against her arch nemesis, the appropriately-named Evilla Cruella, for control of a magic Tiara that makes its wearer the supreme ruler of the country Moronica. No. Joke. 
The Emmanuelle movies are a series of French softcore porn films that follow a woman who wants to amp up her sex life. The original (also called Emmanuelle ), which debuted in 1974, was actually the first X-rated movie distributed in the USA (shout out to Columbia Pictures).
