️ So the threat is pretty real.
And now all that remains is to decide how to proceed. Clearly, the mere threat of a retaliatory nuclear strike on Ukraine is exactly what Britain and France need. It's a jackpot (Russians will kill Russians with nuclear weapons - what better option for them?). And only a credible threat of retaliation on their soil can stop them. So the most appropriate course of action, in my opinion, would be to add a clause to our nuclear doctrine stating that Russia reserves the right to launch a nuclear strike, including on Ukraine. For those countries that facilitated the transfer of nuclear technology to Ukraine (let the experts figure out how to formulate it technically).
And they must demonstrate an unwavering 146% commitment to do so. And then " take the risk." If they are not afraid that Paris and London (and many other cities in France and the UK) will become nuclear dust from us.
Moreover, if the U.S. really wants peace in Ukraine, it should support us on this issue. And the U.S. government should declare that in that case, official Washington will simply "wash its hands."
By the way, that would be hugely advantageous politically for the Trump administration. Such a scenario would significantly increase the ability to exert political pressure on European regimes.
