The feature of upgrading items lets players upgrade their existing equipment. This can be accomplished by any upgrader of items NPC.
Generally, upgrades boost an item's main stat and can give it extras depending on the item type. upgrade item include Whistan's shield for FB Sorcs, or Goldwraps for build casters.
Armour
Link's armor is a crucial element in keeping him safe from harm. While it isn't able to be upgraded like weapons, you can still improve its defence capabilities in a variety of ways.

There are many ways to upgrade armour, however, the majority require you to visit one of the four Great Fairy Fountains scattered throughout Hyrule. Each fountain has a distinct level of upgrade with more protection levels requiring more rupees and materials.
The first thing to remember about Armor Upgrades is they are permanent upgrades which means that after they've been put in place, they cannot be replaced unless there is another piece of equipment that comes with the same upgrade. You should only apply most powerful upgrades to your equipment and ensure that you have the materials required to complete the process.
In terms of acquiring the upgrade components needed you'll find them all over Hyrule such as merchants, shrines, and even enemies. These are usually marked with a blue triangle or a gold circle symbol and are available in large numbers as you progress. Although they can appear randomly, there is the possibility that acquiring certain upgrade components will result in quests that reward you with more.
It is also important to note that even though the amount of protection offered by each upgrade differs but it's the same for all upgrades and will always be better than nothing. This is due to the fact that a full set of upgraded armor will grant you a high defense boost that protects you from all kinds of attacks except magic and makes it a formidable weapon for any class.
Weapons
If you're looking to make your guns truly unique, you can enhance them with a variety of special upgrades. They can boost damage, alter the weapon's stats to cater to your specific build, and even unlock new attachments like unique ammo types, enchantments and other options for aesthetics.
You'll need both the upgrade component as well as the weapon itself to upgrade it. The weapon must be at or near a certain level to upgrade it. Most weapons can only be upgraded by one upgrade.
There are weapon upgrade components scattered around the globe and from the hands of enemies and can be bought from a merchant. The upgrade components themselves are made up of ingredients that can be slotted into armor, weapons trinkets, trinkets, or gathering tools to grant an attribute bonus or other impact while they're being used. They require equipment to be of a certain degree to be able to take the upgrade. item upgrade can be upgraded in the same way as other items.

Prioritize upgrading your most-used slot items first. Then upgrade the ones you won't replace soon. If you're playing in a melee-based build, for instance upgrade your weapon, then your chest and shoulders before your feet and hands. The same principle applies to Magic and Utility Items. However, depending on your playstyle, some items will be more useful than others. Armour is the same, with certain reforges better than others.
Magic Items
A character can only upgrade one item of magic. If an upgrade plan has been canceled, no further upgrades will be offered for the item. Magic items that are upgraded will cost twice the amount of gold it would cost to make or purchase, but they can also have extra advantages.
A magical item could be any item with special properties or effects. Most of these items are weapons, but some include armor, shields, cloaks, potions, rings, scrolls, and other items. Some of these items may be made to speak.
The majority of magic items have their abilities enhanced. This could make them more beneficial to players or aid them overcome a difficult encounter. A weapon that is infused with a special substance might, for instance, provide extra damage against a certain enemy type. This is particularly beneficial for characters that have reached a level where they'll likely encounter the same kind of monster in dungeons over and over again.
A ring infused by magic may give immunity to non-magical attacks that bludgeon or pierce or cut (excluding silvered attacks) until the character takes another long rest. This is particularly beneficial for melee martial characters or anyone looking to stay clear of buying an armor.

Other enchanted items might allow the user to alter their appearance, or even create a completely new appearance. These items are especially useful for characters who were forced to leave their home, or are located in an area that they might not be welcome. An enchanted item might give them an invisible effect, or make them invisible to everyone other than a selected person.
Utility Items
Utility items are products that don't fall into the categories of Clothing, Armor or Weapons and offer a range of different capabilities. They are not compatible with each other, in contrast to weapons or armor. Most utility items provide a passive effect that the player can activate by using them however, some come with additional capabilities that are triggered when the user presses the button or activates an ability.
The most popular kind of utility item is the Flashlight, which illuminates the surrounding area. Other useful items include the Helicopter Cap and Rocket Boots which allow the player float in mid-air while moving and the Jetpack that allows the player to accelerate in any directions while on the ground. In the Engineering section, you can create instantly a variety of utilitarian items, whereas others are only available through Research projects or experimental projects on the Proving Ground.
In addition to the items that are available in the standard inventory, players can also obtain additional powerful utility items by buying them from the Atomic Shop and also from seasonal Scoreboard rewards (such as the Shadow Goggles). Certain of these items can be upgraded to allow more efficient use.
Most utility items increase the combat ability of a particular character or give the player some kind of advantage when it comes to navigation. For example, Sharpening stones made by the Weaponsmith boost Ferocity and Power, while Maintenance Oils crafted by the Huntsman increase the power of concentration and healing. Other items of utility like Writs and Theses created by the Scribe, can be utilized to give the player either an increase in damage or condition damage.
All XCOM soldiers can equip a utilitarian item at the start of the campaign, and an additional slot is made available by acquiring certain types of armor or completing engineering research or experiments in the Proving Ground. During the Alien Hunters DLC, additional slots are created by equipping the Grenade Launcher which lets the player equip a Smoke Grenade or Bomb in an additional grenade slot while an offensive grenade is placed in the main grenade slot.
