General Smutstone seems to be a game with limited interaction. You literally set your deck, push a button to start the fight, and let the auto battle commence. The stronger card will usually always win, reguardless of elemental bonuses. That means even if your whole deck is the wrong element, you can probably muscle your way to a win.
