We consider Smashbox O-Plump to be a better quality product than others out there because its formula contains a blend of oils and extracts, as well as, one trademarked ingredient, although we are not sure if it is patented or not. This is better than many formulas that do not contain any trademarked or patented ingredients or have fillers. This product is formulated without any parabens, sodium lauryl sulfate, phthalates, artificial fragrances or talc. However, there is only one active trademarked ingredient, as opposed to the five patented ingredients contained in our #1 choice. That said, this product is still better quality than other lip plumpers out there, so we wanted to review it and give you the details.

This lip plumper has a cool name and has a sleek look to it, targeted to a young audience or those trying to regain a youthful appearance. The formula contains one trademarked ingredient and a comprehensive blend of oils and extracts and no parabens, sodium lauryl sulfate, phthalates, artificial fragrances or talc. So, it seems that it should be effective. However, it also contains eleven other ingredients that we are not sure about, some are synthetically derived and may not be as effective as clinically tested ingredients.

We were impressed to see that this product does not test on animals and does not contain parabens. We were, however, slightly disappointed to hear that this product does contain an artificial color and synthetically derived ingredients, as they can be irritating to sensitive lips. Our own tests showed that it is a fairly good product, but we all know that beauty products don’t always work the same way for everyone.

There are many positive consumer reviews posted on its website, which is to be expected. Unfortunately, on other retailer sites, we mostly found mixed reviews. Consumers were not always happy with how the product felt on their lips. These reviews left us with some questions as to the overall effectiveness of this product.

We found some ingredients in this product that we were not sure about since is not clear from its website exactly what concentration they have. For example, it contains copolymers which are considered safe for use in cosmetic formulations in minute amounts. However, according to our research, the color that is used may cause organ system toxicity. In the United States, with the exception of one class of hair dyes, all color additives for cosmetics must be specifically pre-approved for use by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). On Smashbox O-Plump's website, it is not indicated that it has FDA approval or that it is GMP certified, like our #1 choice. Additionally, this product is intended to react with your own personal chemistry to turn your lips a shade of pink. A cool idea but we are not sure if the ingredients that cause your lips to turn pink are entirely safe. Perhaps they may cause allergies or side effects in others.

Smashbox O-Plump looks like an effective product which combines natural oils and extracts with synthetically derived ingredients. It is reasonably priced, however, it only has one trademarked ingredient and many inactive ingredients. Because of this it falls slightly short of our #1 product.

This is a review of O-Plump. The claims made by the manufacturer about this product is that it reacts with your personal chemistry in order to turn your lips into your own custom shade of pink while it also plumps up your lips. Read our review to find out whether it would be a healthy addition to consider.
Peppermint oil and wintergreen leaf extract stimulates the circulation under the lips and therefore creates the swelling effect and helps your lips to look fuller. Pomegranate seed oil acts as a lip moisturizer. Safflower oil diminishes the signs and occurrence of dry skin and avocado oil softens the skin and it helps to give the lips a supple feeling.
We like the fact that this product is free of parabens, phthalates and sodium lauryl sulfate and that it is cruelty-free. It does not seem, however, that it is suitable for vegans.
We are a bit concerned about the fact that the manufacturer is not clear about what percentage of active ingredients are contained in this formula and how many of them are clinically proven and patented. We would suggest that you try to find a product with at least 5 clinically proven, patented ingredients and with 10% active ingredients as this will definitely influence the results experienced.
A generous coat can be applied to bare lips for rosy lips and a flush that lasts all day. It is not clear how often the formula should be applied.
O-Plump can be bought for $27.00. Smashbox is not currently offering any bulk purchasing options or discounts.
If you are not happy with your order, the company will offer you an exchange or a refund. The unused portion of the product should be returned together with a pre-paid label. It is not clear for how many days after the purchase have been made this offer will still be valid, neither is it clear in what shape the product should be in in order to receive your refund.
When looking at consumer reviews on the company’s website, most clients state that they are happy with their purchase.
We are impressed with the fact that O-Plump is cruelty-free and that it does not contain any parabens, sodium lauryl sulfate or phthalates. We also like the fact that the company offers a money-back guarantee even for opened products.
We would, however rather opt for a product which contains at least five clinically proven ingredients.
We don’t like the fact that the manufacturer is not clear about the usage instructions and the money-back guarantee. They do not state how often the product should be used and they also do not mention for how long their money-back guarantee is valid after the purchase has been made or in what condition the product should be in for the offer to be valid.

The manufacturer claims that the exclusive Goji Berry-C Complex, Gingermint, ginkgo biloba, pomegranate seed antioxidants, revitalizing marine botanicals, and nourishing avocado oil will provide shine and color to the lips. Unfortunately, when comparing this product to other brands, our research shows that it should contain at least 5 patented ingredients that have been clinically proven to be effective. Lack of these key aspects may result in a less effective product. Also, the manufacturer does not list the main active ingredients in the product.
The manufacturer recommends that users apply a generous amount of the product to bare lips. You can watch the reaction it makes as the lips start to turn a rosy color that will last all day long.
