Some parents are outraged and shocked on the heels of allegations of a boy and a girl engaged in oral sex during class at /*Richard B. Haydock Intermediate School*/ in Oxnard.

Ramirez said students in the class videotaped the alleged sex act on their cell phones.

Asked if she had seen the video, Ramirez replied, "Yes, I have seen the video. [It shows] the two people doing sex."

School district officials say the alleged incident took place nearly two months ago, but recently came to light after a parent filed a complaint about a bullying issue at the school.

School administrators were investigating that complaint when someone tipped them off about the alleged sexual encounter during a 7th and 8th grade reading intervention class.

"The allegation is that two students were engaged in a sexual act for a brief period of time at the school," said Sean Goldman, assistant superintendent, /*Oxnard Elementary School District*/. "I'm not saying that that was actually what happened or not, but we're investigating that at this moment."

"That's kind of scary for our children," said parent Rosa Vargas. "They have to fire the teacher."

"Another parent that lives on my same block, her kid came home after school and she said, 'Mom, what is oral sex?'" said Ramirez. "What do you think the mom said? She freaked out."

School officials have placed the teacher on paid administrative leave. They won't say what actions, if any, have been taken against the students at this time.

As for whether the alleged sex act was videotaped, Goldman said, "I have no knowledge of any factual basis to believe that, but there are a lot of reports going out, and that's also part of our investigation."

"Yes, it happened," said Ramirez. "It happened. And there is videotape and probably all of Oxnard by now has it."

Ramirez wants to warn parents of Haydock students to check their children's cell phones, because she believes a lot of kids out there have that alleged video on their cell phones, and parents just don't know about it.

School officials say they will wrap up their investigation into the allegations in about a week or so and determine a course of action after that.

The results, published in the annual Health Survey for England, showed that 27% of women aged between 16 and 24 said they’d had underage sex, compared with only 22% of men. The report claims that the proportion of women having sex under the age of 16 is increasing over the generations, while this isn’t as evident for men.
“The underlying cause must be the ‘pornification’ of British culture and the increasing sexualisation of pre-adolescent girls. Too many young girls are absorbing from popular culture that they only have value as sex objects,” said Labour’s shadow Health Minister, Diane Abbott.
The sexualisation of children has been a hot topic over past months, with David Cameron clamping down on the commercialisation and sexualisation of children . Yet there also seems to be a growing trend for beauty salons aimed solely at kids.

Yes, totally normal. I personally would just leave it as probing her further may just end up needlessly embarrassing her. It's perfectly normal to explore your own body, why does it bother you? Can I just ask (out of nosiness) how you know she is doing it?

She asked me to close the door when I went out which I did but I lingered on the other side listening to the rhythmic noise and aching that my baby girl was growing up Since then she asks to shower in private. I did have a heart to heart with her about growing up and experimenting etc but she wasn't keen to persue it so I let it be. It only bothers me because she's still so young and I didn't realise that she would be having these feelings at such a young age.

Bless her she must have been mortified when you walked in. I am almost certain I did it at that age, I have done it for as long as I can actually remember (and there's definitely nothing wrong with me ). The important thing is that she shouldn't feel it's something to be ashamed of. Perfectly normal and absolutely fine to do privately.

It shouldn't bother you as this is totally normal. Children as young as six learn to masturbate. It's wrong to associate masturbation with adulthood and sex because it's not quite the same.

Don't make an issue of it. Somebody a while ago talked about a 'growing up box' which I plan to so for my two girls soon. It included books about sex and biology, sanitary towels etc... Maybe just do something like that and offer her the choice to come to you with any questions...
