LET'S SPEAK English Club

Let's get acquainted. Tell us a little about yourself

– I'm a lead engineer in the construction industry, a DevOps Fundamentals student and an enthusiastic tech guy. I joined LET'S SPEAK English Club on February 4, 2021 (event #9 Books). I'm not a language trainer, just contributing as a community assistant.

What is LET'S SPEAK English Club for you?

– Cozy 1.5 hours in the evening with like-minded people; fantastic community drivers; free English and soft-skills improvement; modern technologies for learning: interactive boards, quizzes, games and videos.

What are "Small Talks" in LET'S SPEAK English Club?

– First of all, who makes small talk? People who don't know each other & accidentally met in the same place. Where do people talk? Anywhere: office, meeting, bus stop, airplane. Why do people make small talk? To break the uncomfortable silence, get to know someone and fill time.

"Small Talks" in LET'S SPEAK English Club – is a series of informal events devoted to intensive English practice. We provide a place where people can practice making short, one-on-one conversations on a wide range of topics in a casual, friendly atmosphere.

How did you come up with the idea of creating such an event?

– Learning English requires practice, but where can you get it if you live in a non-language environment? Speaking clubs are what will help you. Such events are not new, but they are usually run-in closed groups for a fee or free and rarely. "Small Talks" are regular and entirely free for everyone.

How do meetings usually go? Share a short review

– Events are organized bi-weekly. One week – regular event from LET'S SPEAK English Club, the second week – "Small Talks." Meetings usually start on Wednesday/Thursday at 18:30/19:00 (GMT+3). The event takes 1.5 hours: warming up, waiting for latecomers; explaining rules, discussing any questions; speaking in breakout rooms. Here's the link with activities we use at our event.

What level of English is required to participate?

– The recommended English level is A2-B1.

How to get to the next event?
