Slo - Privacy Policy

Slo ("we", "our", "the app") is a language learning app that uses Apple's Screen Time API to help you learn vocabulary. This privacy policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Data We Collect

Data stored on your device only

The following data never leaves your device:

- Your name and avatar (used for personalization)

- Language preferences (native and target language)

- Learning progress (words learned, mastery levels, streaks)

- App blocking preferences (which apps you choose to guard)

- Screen Time data (interception counts, challenge completions)

We use Apple's Screen Time and Family Controls APIs. We cannot see which specific apps you use or for how long. We only know how many times a shield was triggered.

Data sent to third-party services

Subscription Management (RevenueCat)

We use RevenueCat to manage in-app purchases and subscriptions. RevenueCat may collect an anonymous user ID, purchase history, and device information. See RevenueCat's privacy policy at https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy.

Analytics and Remote Configuration (Firebase)

We use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Remote Config to understand app usage patterns and manage feature flags. Firebase may collect device information, app usage data, and crash reports. See Google's privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

Data We Do NOT Collect

- We do not collect your email address

- We do not collect your location

- We do not collect your contacts

- We do not track which apps you use or your browsing history

- We do not sell or share your personal data with advertisers

- We do not use your data for profiling or targeted advertising

Screen Time and Family Controls

Flingo uses Apple's Screen Time API solely to:

- Display learning challenges when you open selected apps

- Track how many challenges you complete per day

- Temporarily remove app shields after completing a challenge

All Screen Time data is processed on your device. We cannot access or transmit this data to any server.

Data Storage

Your learning progress and preferences are stored locally on your device using UserDefaults and Keychain. The first launch date is stored in your device's Keychain to manage the free trial period. This data persists across app reinstalls but is not transmitted to any server.

Children's Privacy

Flingo is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app uses Apple's Family Controls framework which requires parental consent for users under 18.

Your Rights

You can:

- Delete all your learning data from Settings within the app

- Remove the app to delete all locally stored data

- Contact us to request information about any data we may have

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy within the app.
