An 11-year-old girl who fought off a knife-wielding man trying to abduct her at a Florida bus stop covered him in blue slime to help police track him down - an idea she got from watching Law & Order.
Alyssa Bonal was playing with the slime while waiting for her school bus in Pensacola on Tuesday morning when she spotted a man - later identified as 30-year-old Jared Paul Stanga - running towards her with a knife.
Surveillance video of the terrifying ordeal showed Alyssa fighting off her attacker after he jumped out of a white vehicle and put her in a headlock. They both fell to the ground as Stanga tried to drag Alyssa towards his van. Alyssa eventually managed to break free and her attacker fled the scene.
When police eventually tracked him down after a day-long manhunt, Stanga's arms were covered in blue dye from the slime Alyssa was playing with.
Alyssa and her mother Amber Bonal have since revealed that the young girl intentionally tried to cover him in the slime - something they say she learned from watching Law & Order SVU episodes.

'Her first words were, 'Somebody tried to kidnap me. He grabbed me by my throat and he had a knife.' She said she was able to kick and she tripped him and freed herself,' the girl's mother told the Pensacola News Journal.
'She said, 'Mom, I had to leave some sort of evidence behind like on Law & Order SVU.' We've watched probably every episode on Hulu.
'She's a smart cookie, she thinks on her toes. She got that slime everywhere.'
After details emerged of the girl's escape, Law & Order star Mariska Hargitay said she was honored to be part of her story and that she was now Alyssa's number one fan.
'Alyssa, first and most important, I am so relieved and grateful to know that you are safe. And I am so honored to be part of your incredible story,' the actor wrote on Instagram.
'You are one BRAVE, Strong and Smart young woman. I think the SVU squad might have to add slime to their crimefighting gear! Take good care of yourself and each other. With all my love, your number one fan, Mariska.'
Speaking to ClickOrlando about the moment she was grabbed, Alyssa recalled thinking: 'What is he going to do with me? Where is he going to? Where am I going to be at?
'He had a knife in his hand. I tried running off, but then he got me... He took me with his arm and I was able to get him down to the ground and I was able to get away.'
When Alyssa ran back inside her home moments after the attack, her mother said her hair was disheveled and she was covered in slime.
Bonal immediately thought her daughter had been hit by a car.
'Her hair was all messed up, she had slime everywhere and I asked her what was going on. I thought maybe she had been hit by a car, but I never would have thought somebody would have tried to take her,' Bonal said.
She said her daughter was traumatized by the ordeal.
'If she would have been taken... If she would have been taken, I could have lost her forever,' she said.
Police said Stanga had also tried to approach Alyssa two weeks earlier.
Her mother said she had been walking her daughter to the bus stop every morning since.
On the day of the attempted kidnapping, however, Bonal said she had to quickly change her 18-month-old son's diaper.
'We were running late. She usually leaves for the bus stop at 6:50, and it was 6:52,' she said.
'I told her to go ahead and I would be out there in a minute, I start changing the baby's diaper. I hadn't even finished changing the diaper before she ran back in the house.'
Bonal called 911 and a neighbor immediately set off in his car to scour the area fro the white van.
Dozens of investigators and deputies scoured the area in the hours that followed.
Escambia Sheriff Chip Simmons said deputies found video of Stanga at nearby convenience stores wearing the same dark blue shirt as the attacker and got his license plate number.
When deputies went to his house, they found that Stanga had just painted his silver car bumper black in a bid to disguise it.

He was charged with attempted kidnapping of a child under 13, aggravated assault and battery.
Stanga faced court on Wednesday and his bail was set at $1.5 million.
The sheriff said Stanga has an 'extensive' criminal past that includes child sex abuse charges.
Simmons hailed Alyssa's bravery when he revealed at a press conference that Stanga had been arrested.
'She fought and she fought and she fought, until finally she was able to break free from her would-be captor,' Simmons said. 'My message to her is that is my hero, she did not give up.
'I cannot help to think that this could have ended very different had this 11-year-old victim not thought to fight, and to fight, and to just never give up. This could have ended terribly.
'Why else do you think that this man stopped his van and tried to pick her up and take her into that van? It doesn't take a genius to figure out what his intentions were, they were not good.
'He will never be free to do this again... Our concern was this wasn't his first try.'
