Looks like a very interesting idea, getting a number and registered etc. Anyone have thoughts, reviews, or experiences to share?
It does at first look like an interesting idea.Most of the regulars here already pretty much know, or have categorized the other members.Then too, we are literally thoroughly spread around the world, and very few of our 'Slaves' are without masters.Like I said, interesting idea, but for what purpose?
The registry is another networking site for those Masters and slaves to meet and connect. Once a Master has decided to take a slave and the slave to give over ownership of themselves to their new Master then the slave can be registered to the Master as being formally owned.The whole notion is not unlike having to register to get married, it's a way of publicly and in some eyes officially declaring that they are Owner & slave. Is it nessicary to register on the Slave Registry to be an Owner or an owned slave? No, just like it's not necessary to actually get married to be considered married by the law (at least here in Canada, it's called Common Law Marriages).Word of warning though, there are those that take this very seriously and consider being owned as you give over ownership of EVERYTHING you have over to them once they become your Owner. So be sure you know exactly what you're getting yourself into if you are considering this.
Of course, I'm sure it doesn't help that http://www.slaveregister.com and http://www.slaveregistry.com/ are probably in direct competition with each other. Seems like an interesting concept...although I would think there would be a lot of browsing masters/mistresses being possessive and demanding. For example, (the fictional) Master John goes to the site and finds 123-456-781 who is a female "slave". He messages her and says "you are mine now" as if he is choosing an item from a catalog. She says "hell no creep" and he argues "well if you didn't want a master then why are you registered here". Come to think of it, the same thing happens everywhere with dominants assuming every submissive of the correct gender wants to play with them. But hey, if you like having an ID number to identify you (or your slave) then go ahead and have fun with the site.

All get the exact same message about him wanting to hook up. The majority of them are owned, under protection or in relationships, says so right there on their profile page.So when they say no thank you he won't take that as an answer, and messages then back and started harassing a few of them. Needless to say the whole group is up in arms, the Mod has banned him from the group but he can still message and harass people unless they themselves block him.This guy seems to think that anyone submissive is available for his use, he doesn't understand the basic rules and protocols. These are the type of people that need to be avoided in this lifestyle, the ones that don't want to meet you at a munch or over a coffee and get to know you and earning your trust before jumping right into playing.

Yep, submissive/slave/bottom/etc means the person is obedient and agreeing and trusting and all that...but...to the person or people that the submissive/slave/bottom/etc has chosen...and not to anyone in general. A submissive/slave/bottom/etc might do ANYTHING that his/her master says...but might respond with an expletive and a finger if anyone else suggests even the slightest thing. Basically a dominant/master/top/etc needs to earn his privileges...in a way, the submissive/slave/bottom/etc is in control in terms of how much control they give people.
I notice that even on this website. A new "Master" will introduce himself like he is Gods gift to submissives and talk himself up a bunch about how he will reward his subs greatly and show them to true meaning of submission. Then they expect submissives to come flocking to them (Cause we all know female subs are strongly attracted to egotistical males and are completely incapable of making up their own mind). i agree with the above posts. Those types of people have serious problems and do not understand the dynamics of real D/s. I belive it is all about trust and cooperation. The net gives people a chance to use any name they want and present them self as they imagine they would like to be. I don't think most peoples fantasies can survive contact with the real world. Many can't even survive the safe, at a distance, contact of others on the internet. When some one who has had a vanilla life with all kinds of kinky fantasies suddenly finds a place where they think their fantasy fits in as the norm, it's probably very hard to let go of or change that fantasy that you thought you finely had a chance to make reality.
