check plugins txt and the Read Only box is now unchecked Just thought all my mods were active or at least they were before the update Figured id post this since even with disabling achievements in SSE Engine fixes Mod Configuration Menu Crash Map Journal opening crash Most common crash For context many of the consistent crashes have been when I open the skyrim map and then open my journal In my test run I spent about 95 minutes running a dungeon doing the Stormcloak quest and opening my map journal at random intervals with no crashes on the test run I ve been doing some limited testing and found that the spell research mod along with a few others aren t the cause of crashes So say I have activated mods in Vortex but can t activate deactivate or even see them in Bethesda list load order which brings me to the question I changed it to false but I m still having this problem Then I launch SSE through SKSE and no mods are recognized So Vortex plugins kept getting disabled a setting in SSE Engine Fixes mod Nothing I have done or tried seems to get my mods working in the game When this feature attempts to hook into the game it encounters an error which causes the engine to disable all plugins I am playing Skyrim SE and since the update all my mods don t work in the new game I reinstalled Skyrim and all the mods that I m using to clean out any extra mods that might ve been pulling memory shenanigans but that hasn t helped Yes I ve tried running a new game without those two mods and the crashes still happened Start a new game with NO MODS ACTIVE I have the Skyrim SE with an AE addon in the update Just remember if you need to change things in vortex mo7 you have to remove the read only from Plugins txt I m using Vortex 6 9 65 and Skyrim SE 6 6 6685 Steam I ve tried purge and deploy Disable and enable reviewing ALL my mods and using LOOT and EEdit But then when I social security grand rapids to start a new non test run I crash before I can even change the settings in my mods telegra.ph waiting for everything to load Not Spell research itself but possibly one of these that are compatibility patches for the other magic mods and changes to spell research Once you get your plugins all updated enabled go to localappdata then Skyrim Special Edition and set Plugins txt to read only I brought to the creators attention only to find out he and others were also have the same Whiterun issues It s the SKSE that may be causing issues If you can t find it at nexus try Lover s Lab Anyone know what happened to it or if it s coming back Okay well then the P I T A However I worry there s a chance that throughout my modding my Skyrim ini might ve been changed and could be causing this Beforehand I checked my mods and compatibilities Edit to be clearer install SSE engine fixes first set the noted value to false then install Animation Limit Crash Fix It was a HOME MOD in Winterhold I ve got a few mods I m gonna test and then if those don t work I ll try cutting the research mods even though I did test to see if those were the mods crashing my game While initial reports seemed to blame Vortex MO7 for this action Alright so found a solution to get things playable for myself with all this Bethesda Bs Any help on this would be massively appreciated The only way I ve got any of my mods to work was to go in to the new creations menu find my mod load order and activate them from there I also didn t noticed despite updating and reinstalling my mods and activating them the New creations update had deactivated my plug ins Might have figured it out in an easier way One of the features of this mod allows achievements to be unlocked with mods installed trying to run cheat room on the updated AE version of Skyrim and the spell doesn t even show up in my spells anymore Eventually you will find the mod mods in question There is a mod for Skyim LE called arkis store I wish someone port it Skyrim SE AE should now actually load your mods Well it turns out that Giantjay was spot on None of my mods in Creations was activated Though I don t believe they were after testing them on a game with nothing but them enabled The problem is that the crash is not consistent at all It s something I remember every time I start up the game after an update I believe the crashes started happening I was having no small CTD s in and around Whiterun I ve not tested that out yet but I was hoping I could find a way to make these work or find figure out what I could be missing The update is working The mod that relies on SKSE is not It is NOT the Skyrim AE but SE Thank you PS yes I have gone through all my mods to make sure they have been updated and have disabled ones that have not been updated as of yet Seems that I can might be able to still use it just with that caveat I will go check there and fingers crossed I ll activate them there and see if that fixes things I installed a new compacity mod for Arcanum and spell research He removed the mod in that he could not figure out why You seem to imply that there are two mods that seem to possibly be the reason This is a wild assumption for me to make as someone who knows nothing about code I still don t know what the cause of crashes is but I wanted to ask Not sure what I m doing wrong here but any help would be greatly appreciated I can t seem to get it to stick This should stop vortex from disabling every plugin every time you start it up Disintergration from Steam and making it so you can t play mods and get achievements There is only INFORMATION about the download There s no need to disable other mods you just need to set AnimationLoadSignedCrash false in EngineFixes toml When I launch SSE through SKSE the game does not recognize any mods as active Then repeat and turn of 9 5 more mods BUT NO MORE THAN THIS so that you are not having too many to back track on I have updated all of my mods that needed updates and deployed them through Vortex they show up correctly in my Data folder and are enabled in the Plugins window The problems now it seems is like Giantjay said Then you have sorting or load order in both but again there seems to be a disconnection from Vortex s load order to Bethesda so you can only choose Bethesda s load order This is something I always forget every time I update the SSE Engine fixes No I hadn t tried going into creations This means that players might not be able to earn achievements even without mods and the DRM protections that Steam normally provides are not present Save then turn on 9 5 mods at a time Finally removing the part two content from the skyrim folder and uninstalling the part 6 mod resolves the startup error but of course it also leaves me without engine fixes Please post the schlongs mod s URL They do good artwork and quest lines I ll put the Pastebin of my crash below this line So I just TURN OFF ALL OF THEM I did an entire stealth run of skyrim with more mods that ran just fine even with patches being installed mid way through So can someon plz port Arkis store to SE I don t know these crashes have plagued me all week long Yeah all seems I am too dumb to find the MOD download URL for Schlongs of Skyrim In terms of organization it d probably be better to gradually enable mods rather than disabling and going down the list This is a bit of an unexpected situation as the Engine Fixes mod interacts with Steam to ensure achievements telegra.ph enabled however in Skyrim 6 6 6685 the integration with Steam appears to be completely absent Play testing Skyrim with everything except a suspect mod or two and www.bitsdujour.com down the list I recall a similar problem either back in 6 5 97 or 6 5 85 Find the Patches section then locate the line EnableAchievementsWithMods and change the value to false but that information doesn t make it through to Bethesda the game I had one run where I thought I found the crash but after 7 hours of thinking I had it I have also attempted using the SSE Engine fixes modified toml File Only For SSE v6 6 6685 and v6 6 6675 Modified TOML File V6 with the same result When I check the properties again the Read Only box is checked To avoid this issue you simply need to open the file Skyrim Special Edition Data SKSE Plugins EngineFixes toml in a text editor I also had other cases of CTD s or Strange Skyrim physics
