Skyrim Argonian Eggs
Skyrim Argonian Eggs
A few Argonians in Skyrim refer to when they were hatched, so I assume they do indeed lay eggs. As to what they look like, I'd assume they look like regular lizard eggs would on Earth. However, I don't know what size they usually are, that depends on how large newly hatched Argonians are. Does anyone know how large they are?
Discussion on how Argonians reproduce, exploring whether they lay eggs or give birth.

Argonian hatchling blood seems to be his desired choice D:) At this moment, the midwife/minder checks to see if the hatchling is healthy along side Shavee and also you have a message popup to enable you to choose the gender of the hatchling so you can have a preference or you can simply choose an option to have a random choice without you choosing.

This is a good question that came up to me when I was thinking about killing children in Skyrim (yeah I know its prohibited, and yeah it sucks, and yeah why are they only nord/imperial race). The main question is Do Argonians lay eggs? Therefore, should their children be called hatchlings just li...
Female Argonians have what appear to be mammalian breasts, but at the same time are able to lay eggs. [249] They also possess an egg-sac, which aids in reproduction. [250]
For the game, see The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Skyrim, also known as the Old Kingdom, Throat of the World,[1][2] the Fatherland[1] or Keizaal (Dragon Language: Keiz-Aal, "Rebellion-May"),[note 1] or Mereth[3] by the first Nordic inhabitants, is a vast region set in the northern part of Tamriel.[4] It is the home of the Nords, large and hardy men and women who have a strong resistance to ...
Argonians or Saxhleel[1][2] are an oviparous race of reptilian people native to the large and marshy province of Tamriel known as Black Marsh. They can be found in smaller numbers throughout the continent.[3] Argonians are one of the few races completely unrelated to men and mer, who think of themselves as coming from, and ultimately returning to, the Hist.[4] Enigmatic and intelligent, the ...
Argonians lay eggs which are hatched in communal nests beneath Hist trees. When an Argonian hatches it is brought to the sap of the Hist it was born under and it tastes the sap, becoming what we know as a Saxhleel Argonian. There is a case of an Argonian who did not consume Hist sap after hatching named Ja-Reet.

Yes idk the specifics but i think its in black marsh they lay their eggs you can see it in eso, theres a youtube video that explains it all just look up "argonian boobs" sounds weird but actually very informative
Theoretically though, the egg could be soft enough for sperm of any race to penetrate, but the number of chromosome pairs are probably different between Argonians and men and thus incompatible.
The only organisms that do not have them are ones which do not reproduce by egg (yes, mammals reproduce using an egg - it is in the female and is fertilized and develops there, it just doesn't have a calcium shell - well, the female is the shell, so to speak - unless it is one of the rare mammals that do lay eggs, the monotremes).

No, argonians are egg laying - there's at least one questline about this as well I think. There's also more mentioned on the argonian physionomy in the books by Gregory Keyes, but I'm unsure of how canon they are.
Are you a fan of Argonians like me? Then you have to check out these mods. I've compiled a list featuring the best of the best that you can install which improve your experience as an Argonian player…
On a serious note, Argonians are both ovoviviparous--the egg develops in the mother's body until it hatches--and widely varied in physiology depending on how much Hist they ingest as hatchlings.

Here's a quote from Wikia: " Argonians start out in life as eggs; when a clutch of Argonian eggs is laid, they are placed near Hist trees in areas known as hatching pools. When the eggs hatch, they form a connection to the Hist. If, for whatever reason, this connection to the Hist is not present or is severed, the unborn within the eggs die."

Furthermore, the game fairly well implies that without the ritual the eggs won't hatch- though there are indeed argonians born outside of the marsh and away from the hist. So many questions. Furthermore, what is Argonian Society like?
So we know that argonians usually breed trough eggs, but they have breasts. I remember hearing a theory about how their breasts might be used as a secondary option, as in if an argonian is away from breeding grounds or the hist, it might get pregnant and milk its baby afterwards. Is this confirmed or anything to deny it surfaced perhaps?
I was creating a story for my first role playing character and I was curious as to whether or not Argonians lay eggs.
Cultural reproduction: Going with what MK said an Argonian (race) and an Argonian (hist servants) are different things, can be interpreted that an Argonian (race), only becomes an true Argonian (hist servants) after tasting the sap.

Mer's have 1 per pregnancy, while Khajiit have two and the Argonians can lay three eggs. Immersion wise, Khajiit and Argonians would only be able to have children with others of their species.

MAKES THE ARGONIAN RACE MORE AMAZING FOR PLAYERS AND NPCS! "Amazing Race Tweaks - Argonian" is for player characters, and for new or existing characters. The mod adds all-new (or improves existing) abilities and powers for the Argonian and Argonian Vampire races. It has more than 265,000 downloads on Bethesda and the Steam Skyrim workshop.
The Kids Are Alright adds adoptable argonian & khajiit kids all over, there's also the Argonian Hatchlings mod & Khajiit Caravan Kittens mod.
Argonian reproduction has been a bit of a mystery to us warm-bloods since time immemorial. Sometimes they lay eggs, sometimes they give live birth - what circumstances would cause one method to be used over the other? They appear to have mammary glands, do they serve any actual function? How do Argonians born away from the Hist manage?
For other uses, see Argonians. Enigmatic and intelligent, the Argonians are experts at guerrilla warfare, and their natural abilities suit their swampy homeland, Black Marsh. They have developed immunities to the diseases that have doomed many would-be explorers in the region, and they are capable of easily exploring underwater locations due to their ability to breathe underwater. For Argonians - Similarly, is an egg-sibling someone born of the same clutch of eggs, or is it just a general Argonian term for sibling? Is it used to also refer to non-familial relationships with other Argonians, like brother or sister? Archived post. New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be cast.
Argonian cuisine is perhaps the most impenetrable for outsiders. Composed largely of raw fish and swamp plants collected throughout the marshes, Argonian dishes are often difficult for outsiders to acclimate to.[1]:13 Argonian chefs make use of ingredients that cooks of other cultures would shy away from, such as maggots and fermented pond scum.[2] Fish and small creatures that are harvested ...

I was creating a story for my first role playing character and I was curious as to whether or not Argonians lay eggs.
The necessity of these eggs being hatched near Hist trees (as the hatchlings need their sap) would nicely explain the definite lack of Argonian young encountered in foreign settings such as Skyrim, Morrowind, or Cyrodiil, since they're known to be exclusive to Black Marsh in the modern eras. 8 Oblivion Is Afraid Of Them

Adds 6 adoptable children right outside the Argonian Assemblage in Windhelm. I plan to do a storyline involving them eventually as a continuation of the Argonian Ebonheart Mission/Twin Lamps sub-plot of Morrowind. Credit to NyessaX for this idea, this expands upon her file. Chases-Starlight is her character and I also copied the character Shines-Like-Silver from Quetzalverde. They are popular ...
Deeja is an Argonian assassin in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Alongside her brother, Jaree-Ra, she leads a criminal gang known as the Blackblood Marauders. She can be found at the docks of the East Empire Company Warehouse near Solitude. If you want to get the full roleplay experience as an Argonian in the world of Skyrim, you'll want to take note of these tips.
So, apparently, they are lizards, but then again,…
Perhaps it is both, as necessity demands. All live at the whim of the Great Root. (11/07/03) Never underestimate the adaptability of Argonians, or, more specifically, the power of the Hist to allow Argonians to adapt. I wouldn't expect to hear an Argonian born in Skyrim (or on Solstheim, for that matter) mention being hatched.

His/her egg spent too much time in the shade for hatching - S/he was born stupid, perhaps it is literally true that an Argonian's development is affected by how much shade their eggs get Hisses loudly but seldom bites - Someone or something is loud and perhaps frightening, but not necessarily dangerous. Same as saying "all bark and no bite".
Argonians are ovoviviparous, meaning they do not lay eggs like normal reptiles, which would account for their somewhat humanoid appearance. Argonians are often referred to as lizards by other races, they actually have many characteristics that look very similar to crocodiles and alligators, most notable among them the large flat-sided tail.
The Argonians of Black Marsh are seldom seen in the cold Nordic homeland of Skyrim - here are the best Argonian mods that improve the Lizardfolk race.

An Argonian in Skyrim is best built as an assassin, as their +5 stat boost to light armor and stealth work together. They don't make great tanks even if their abilities give them some decent early-game resiliency, so focusing on heavy armor or two-handed weapons isn't ideal.
I'm very serious. You see, Argonians are reptilian people. They lay eggs like any other reptiles, unlike humans and elves or even Khajiits. But female Argonians have breast, like any other female races. Does this mean that even though Argonians lay eggs, they do breast feeding to their hatchlings? I mean, there are some animals like this in ...
Can Argonians have children? In extreme circumstances however, the Argonians, or rather "The Hist" can adapt to climates that are too cold for eggs, which allow a female Argonian to bear a child.
Eggs are an alternative to placenta style nourishing of young. Some sharks don't even lay their eggs before they hatch so they essentially birth live young. I imagine Argonians are similar. Sometimes they lay their eggs, sometimes they hatch them and birth live infants. Then they still nurse them like ordinary mammals.
