Hey all. After watching Evo this weekend I finally ended up buying the game and I have been having a blast. I usually don't watch top 8's but I enjoyed every set that happened this year and would love to hear more about other amazing sets in this games history. Apologies if this is a repost of sorts but I'd love to have more sets to go back and watch because after this weekend I just want to watch more

[ Update: Skullgirls lead designer Mike Z has contacted Destructoid to say that ZONE’s pornographic work was not considered during the hiring process. The writer apologizes for not making it clear that this was speculation.]
The Internet’s so-called “Rule 34” stipulates that for anything you can think of, a pornographic version of it exists somewhere on the web. Knowing this, it’s not surprising to discover that over-stimulated fans of Lab Zero’s Skullgirls fighting game have been known to put the characters in various X-rated situations.
One of those fans is the popular flash artist known as ZONE (link NSFW!) , who in August 2012 released a pornographic fan game featuring the Skullgirls character Filia to his paid subscribers. More recently, ZONE has been actively helping promote the ongoing Skullgirls Indiegogo , even putting together an animated short urging people to contribute.
While most game companies would likely frown on pornographic material starring their copyrighted characters, Lab Zero Games was actually so impressed by ZONE’s work that they’ve now brought the artist aboard as an animator. ZONE announced the news yesterday on his Twitter feed , following it up with more details in a tumblr post : “I’m extremely lucky to have been given the opportunity to work with such a talented team, and I hope that I can do good work for them. And no, I can’t add any frames with nipples in them, sorry. I will make sure that parts jiggle as much as possible though.”
With such a well-known adult animator now on the team, could Skullgirls surpass Dead or Alive as the most pornographic fighting game of all time? We’ll just have to wait and see!
