The highest (generally available) performance amps

are made by X-Force and Dave-Made.I just went through a period where I was a big

X-Force fan. That's mostly because I knew Dennis

(#12) was helping them. Dennis is so worth listening

to that anything he's involved with is worth backing.

Now, I just received an X-Force amp that was a

disappointment. What should I do? I've reconsidered

my position. Even Dennis admits that Dave at Dave-Made

is every bit as good at RF design as Dennis is--maybe

even better. Perhaps Dave-Made trully is the more

consistent high-performance amp builder in the long run.In my opinion, the best custom amp overall is Pirate.

Steve at Pirate has never shown signs of complacency

and has never short-changed a customer. His amps

aren't the best performers (in my opinion) but they

are the best overall value.

x-force has recientlly taken some cost cutting measures one obvious change is the power cables , i used to see one single powercord ,

for big amps , like a 4 gauge . but a few i have seen , had 6-8 or 10 gauge

powercables . this i do not understand . wouldn't you get better powerflow

through one large cable ?maby there is a good reason for this , since i know very littlei have an x-force 2 pil , and i love the lil' thing its about a year old i

think and shows no wear at all

who cares about competition amps , keydown all ya want . my lil 2 pill talks

just fine i don't want to blow the guy 3 miles away out of the water . or make

the neibors toaster dance across the counter . my bias'ed 2 pill sounds

better then my buddies unbiased 2 pill . takes less watts to push the pills to

max . and yes the ssb sounds so much clearer with the biasing . you can fry an

egg on mu buddy's 2 pil while mine runs fairly warm . i dunno if this has to do with the biasing or overall amp design . but my lil

xforce beats a lil texas star in every way
