A pair of brothers were running a 'one stop shop' for drugs, a court has heard. Sion and Philip Davies were supplying a range of drugs including cocaine, ketamine, LSD and ecstasy to customers. Swansea Crown Court heard Sion Davies has a previous conviction for trafficking heroin and crack cocaine which saw him sentenced to 30 months detention in a young offenders institution while his younger sibling, who has no previous convictions, had been working in a responsible job before 'succumbed to temptation' and also starting to deal. Georgia Donohue, prosecuting, said on the morning of April 25 this year police executed a search warrant at the home in Cwmavon which the Davies brothers shared. In the attic of the property officers found quantities of cocaine and MDMA - better known as ecstasy - tablets while elsewhere in the house officers recovered empty snap-seal bags, weighing scales, various tubs, an air rifle, and four mobile phones. The court heard the brothers gave officers the PINS for the mobiles and when they examined the devices they found messages relating to the supply of cannabis, cocaine, ketamine, LSD, and ecstasy - including so-called 'Route 66' ecstasy tablets - along with price lists and pictures of packages of drugs. Sion Davies, aged 27, and year-old Philip Davies, both of Brynglas Avenue, Cwmavon , Afan Valley, had both previously pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of cocaine, LSD, ketamine, ecstasy and cannabis when they appeared in the dock together for sentencing via videolink from Swansea prison. Sion Davies had also previously pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine with intent to supply and possession of ecstasy with intent to supply. Sion Davies has 12 previous convictions for 20 offences including the possession of heroin and crack cocaine with intent to supply from for which he received a sentence of 30 months detention in a young offenders institution. Philip Davies has no previous convictions. James Hartson, for Sion Davies, said it was accepted the defendant had been operating a 'one stop shop' for drugs of different classes. He said his client was an 'articulate and intelligent' man whose offending had been born from his own addiction to drugs and from a financial motivation. The barrister said Davies had a four-year-old child with whom he had a 'very good relationship' and he said while being held in prison on remand the defendant had secured a job as a tailor in the sewing room and had been helping other inmates with their reading and writing which was something he was 'enjoying and taking very seriously'. David Singh, for Philip Davies, said his client had been holding down a responsible and relatively well-paid job before 'succumbing to temptation and what many see as an easy way of making money'. He added that 'lessons will be learnt' on the part of the defendant so he 'does not suffer the fate of others'. Recorder Simon Hughes said it was clear from the messages recovered by police that the brothers were both involved in supplying a range of both Class A and Class B drugs, though he said he accepted Philip Davies had a 'slightly subservient role' in the operation. With discounts for their guilty pleas Sion Davies was sentenced to 45 months in prison and Philip Davies to 33 months.
