All hail Paris Hilton - the alleged inventor of the selfie! Really though, it's not sure who did the first one, but let's think that it was the Hilton heiress back in 2006. With that being said, aren't selfies just great? You don't have to rely on somebody else's camera skills (or lack of) to get a good picture and also you can do that anytime you want, without needing any extra help.
As Charles-Guillaume Étienne once said, "If you want something done right, do it yourself," and nothing can possibly go wrong if you're the one with your finger on the button...right? Well, not quite. While you might want to document every aspect of your glorious life, sometimes taking a photo of yourself might go in a different direction of being a total disaster.

Hundreds of revellers took part in the first night of the carnival parade at the Sambadrome in Rio de Janeiro.
RIO de Janeiro's extraordinary carnival samba parades burst into action last night as the "greatest show on Earth" got underway amid a city struggling with violence and poverty.
The two-night extravaganza began in the Sambodromo, where 72,000 spectators sat in sweltering heat, with many thousands more milling around outside selling drinks, putting on costumes or simply soaking up the atmosphere.
Three of the samba schools taking openly critical stands against the political and corruption crisis that has engulfed Latin America's biggest country over the last four years.
Even by Brazil's deteriorating standards, Rio de Janeiro is in particularly deep financial trouble, while crime in many areas is out of control.
Two children were among the dead in shootings last week and a policeman was reported Sunday to have been shot dead in a suburb - the 16th officer killed already this year.
So although 17,000 police have been deployed for the carnival, large parts of Rio, like Rocinha or City of God, are virtual no-go zones for both police and tourists.
Locals in those areas, dubbed favelas, have to survive in the crossfire of drug gangs and the security forces.
To make matters worse for the passionate carnival-going public, Mayor Marcelo Crivella - a bishop in the evangelical mega church founded by his billionaire uncle - has cut subsidies to the annual bash in half.
George Damiao, 38, who was taking part in the Imperio Serrano school's parade, said: "The schools had to use every trick to find sponsors at the last minute and make miracles for the parade to happen."
Unusually for a mayor, Crivella is not even expected to come anywhere near the parades. Although he has not said as much, the snub is widely believed to make clear his distaste for the bared flesh and boozing.
But maybe Crivella is wise to keep away after all.
President Michel Temer, Rio de Janeiro state Governor Luiz Fernando Pezao were also expected to skip the two-day bash at the Sambadrome.
The samba parades used to be a magnet for politicians before a sprawling corruption investigation around state-run oil giant Petrobras began in 2014.
Now officeholders fear being booed and even attacked by critics during the party.
President Temer, whose popularity is in single digits, spent his last carnival as leader with a group of 40 people on a military-guarded beach south of Rio.

"I am vampire who is meant to represent the president of the republic," said history teacher Leo Morais, 39, as he sat having makeup applied for his role as the undead version of Temer.
Morais, who already had his face painted white and would later don huge black wings, said carnival was a chance for Brazil's poor to speak out.
"The samba schools have a social role," he said.
"They speak out for ordinary people."
Politics aside, thirteen samba schools from the top division were facing off in a talent contest taken every bit as seriously as the city's great love - football.
Each school gets about an hour to parade through the purpose-built stadium with about 3,000 dancers, singers and drummers dressed in over-the-top costumes.
Last year, the contest ended in a draw between the Mocidade and Portela schools.
Organisers may not be exaggerating when they claim the parades to be the world's greatest show.

Remember that time Ashley Graham told us that while she wasn't afraid to pose nude, she wouldn't show "nip and bush" ? Seems like our former SI Swimsuit cover model has changed her stance on being photographed naked, and we definitely don't mind.
In an extremely revealing shoot for V Magazine , Ashley poses completely nude and opens up even more about her struggles with body image and how she learned to love herself early on in life.
"I think I hit bottom around 18," Ashley told Tracee Ellis Ross for V Magazine . "I was disgusted with myself and told my mom I was coming home [from New York]. And she told me, 'No, you’re not, because you told me that [modeling] was what you wanted and I know you’re supposed to do this. It doesn’t matter what you think about your body, because your body is supposed to change somebody’s life.' To this day that sticks with me because I’m here today and I feel that it’s okay to have cellulite."
The body advocate, and "new queen" of the fashion industry went on to reveal that she has two role models, one of which is a member of our own SI Swimsuit family.
"Today, I have two role models," Ashley explained. "One of them is my mom. Just seeing how happy she has been going through [life] and how she’s handled every curve ball is like, 'That’s a woman who has integrity and dignity and has been kind and generous to people around her.' Business-wise, it’s Kathy Ireland . She’s OG. When she was younger and in Sports Illustrated she was like, 'I’m going to sell some socks and make a business.' Now she has a billion-dollar company. Kathy Ireland, if you’re out there, I’m still trying to be your best friend. You’re on my vision board."
