As mixing solution : for Concrete/Mortar/Grout/etc. use neat, replacing the amount of water typically recommended
As a bonding grout : estimated coverage based on amount of material (sand/cement) mixed
As admixture/mixing solution: With mixer running, add materials in the following order: SikaLatex® R solution and then the cement based product. Replace the amount of water recommended by the product. Do not dilute with water. As a bonding grout: With the mixer running, add in the following order. SikaLatex® R solution, aggregate, cement. The ratio is 1 part cement, 2 parts sand, and a sufficient amount of undiluted SikaLatex® R to produce a creamy paint consistency. Maximum 4 gal./sack of cement (15L/sack of cement). As a primer for acrylic coatings: No dilution is required. Use as is.

SikaLatex® is a synthetic rubber emulsion that is used as admixture for cementitious bonding bridges and high quality site-mix mortars.
Suitable for use in hot and tropical climatic conditions.
SikaLatex® is certified according "Low Emitting Materials as per Al Sa'fat - Dubai Green Building Evaluation System" by Dubai Central Laboratory (DCL) certificate No. CL17020432
Store properly in undamaged original sealed packaging, in dry cool conditions at temperatures between 5 °C and 30 °C. Protect from direct sunlight, contamination and moisture.
1. Bonding Bridge Cement : Quartz Sand : Liquid (1 part SikaLatex® + 1 part Water) = 1 : 1 : 1 (by volume) or, Cement : Quartz Sand : Liquid (1 part SikaLatex® + 1 part Water) = 1.5 : 2 : 1 (by weight)
Apply the slurry by brush onto the pre-wetted substrate in 1-2 mm thickness and apply the subsequent mortar renders immediately (wet on wet application).

The above mixes are for guidance only and based on the use of sharp, well graded aggregates and dry sand. Trial mixes must be performed to establish the exact dosage rate required. For optimum results, always ensure that the correct SikaLatex® : Water ratio is used. Depending on the application and performance required, Sika Latex® may be added to the clean mixing water within the range of 1:1 to 1:4. For all applications apart from sprayed on renders, a bonding bridge should be brushed into the prepared surface.
Aggregates should be sharp, well and thorougly washed. Sand particle sizes should correspond to the thickness of the applied mortar and to required surface finish.
Mix SikaLatex® with the correct amount of water to produce a gauging solution.
Pour part of the gauging solution into a suitable mixing container. While stirring slowly, add the cement-sand mix to the gauging solution and mix thoroughly until a smooth, uniform and lump-free mix is achieved. Within the mixing time add additional gauging solution to adjust to the desired consistency.

For thin sections use Sikadur Aggregates, size dependant on layer thickness. Keep water content at a minimum.
SBR based mortar admixture and bonding agent
Adhesion to most substrates (concrete, stone, brick, ferrous metals, glass, ceramic tiles) Improves elasticity, flexibility and tensile strength of cement and reduces cracking in mortar and concrete Economical, easy to use and non-toxic Inhibits cracking, improves surface hardening, limits wear and dust production Makes the mortar waterproof and reduces susceptibility to acids and greases, salt petre action, etc Mortar with SikaLatex® shows extremely good bonding to bases like concrete, stone, brick etc Reduces viscosity of cement injection grout and improves bond of cured injected materials with substrates SikaLatex® can be diluted with water (1 : 4 – 6) depending on the type of application Screed required with Sikacim® / Sika® Plastocrete Super to protect waterproofing layer Standard coating system can be further reinforced by placing glass fibre reinforcement Sika® Fabric-50 in between first and the second coat
Usage
SikaLatex® is a high quality emulsion that substantially increases the quality of cement slurry / cement mortar / concrete / cementitious grout.
The scope of application are as follows:
As a bonding agent for uses in repair and plastering Bonds rendering and coating layers Bonding between successive concrete casts by incorporating SikaLatex® into bonding mortar For making polymer mortar for repairs For waterproofing of roof slabs, sunken slabs, basements, retaining walls, water tanks, sunshades etc. in combination with cement Ensures high wear resistance against erosion Long life and watertight masonry jointing Used as modifier in bonding mortar for tiles & panelling Multipurpose admixture for cementitious injection grouting into cracks or porous concrete works Treatment for leaching and saltpetre action

SikaLatex® is a synthetic rubber emulsion which when added to cement slurry / cement mortar / concrete / cementitious grout provides good adhesion and water resistance. It comes in the form of a milky liquid. It is fully soluble in water and is to be added directly to the gauging water of slurry / mortar / concrete / grout.
Store properly in undamaged and unopened original sealed packaging, in dry conditions and protected from direct sunlight. Protect from frost.
SikaLatex® : Water : Cement = 1 : 4 : 8
SikaLatex® : Water : Cement : Sand = 1 : 4 : 10 : 40
The above stated consumption depends on substrate condition, porosity, level, application skills and mixing ratios.
SikaLatex® may also be used for applications such as waterproofing coating, admixture to cement grouting, masonry jointing, polymer concrete or screed, crack filling, etc. Please consult Sika® Technical Service team for consumption and mixing ratio information.
SikaLatex® is to be added to cement / cement mortar / concrete / grout depending on the type of application as per the table above.
Mixing of diluted SikaLatex® to cement mortar should preferably be done manually by volume as per the table. When a concrete-mixer is used, pour the mortar as soon as its consistency is cohesive. Do not run the mixer too long.
When a waterproofing slurry or bonding coat is to be prepared, cement is to be added in the polymer for getting consistent mixture.
Clean all tools and application equipment with water immediately after use. Hardened / cured material can only be removed mechanically.
