love the sound of the speaker, easy to install. the original remote volume button stopped working. called tech support. they mailed me a new one. same thing happened in just a few days. bought an after market remote and it's also problematic. just can't get a remote to work with this thing unless you're standing right in front of the TV

Easy to set up. Great sound quality. My only complaint is the remote control. Several of the functions on the remote control stopped working within a month or so of purchase. I have to adjust the volume on the the sound bar itself. Also, I am unable to adjust the bass.

Going to start this by saying I was close to giving it five stars. The sound quality, volume, ease of use, connectivity, and many other features all exceed the Bose soundbar I spent $300 on two years ago. For the value, this really is amazing and worth every penny. It is huge, the sound is crystal clear and can go quite loud, and it works with bot my TV and my phone via Bluetooth. The one downside is the remote: thin, cheap, and in my case, defective. The volume buttons would not work at all. Amazon has replacement remotes that are a bit more robust however, so I ordered a $10 replacement and it has been smooth sailing. If not for the remote, 5 stars all day, every day.

I have all Polk speakers for my surround setup, and bookshelf speakers for the TV upstairs that sound great, so I wanted to stay with Polk Audio for my sound bar. I am connecting it to a 43" TCL 5 TV. The setup was pretty easy, just plugged in the included TOS cable and it worked. The cable is cheap, but it does work. The sound was very good for dialog, and even for music. It does not have the low bass punch that a sub could give, but it should be OK for most viewing. I tried it against a plaster wall, so the sound from the bass ports could bounce out from the rear facing openings. If that is all you need, then these are good for <$100 speakers. The issue I really have with this is controlling the audio. I tried programming it with a Roku remote, and it couldn't register the up and down volume. The Roku remotes all use the same signaling, and there are a ton of them out there, so I was surprised by this. Also, there is no mute function to program, since you can only select the buttons on the top of the bar. A mute function is critical to me to instantly mute if I have to talk on the phone, and I didn't want to have to use the separate Polk remote just for that. Also, as with all TOS connections (I think), you only get a line feed. You can't control the volume coming in. One thing it does do is turn on if it senses an input on the TOS link. That is good if that is what you want it to do, but not if you are trying to purposely keep it off. Also, it does not shut off when you shut off the TV, so it's just a sound sensor. I didn't even get to test the Bluetooth, since I've already determined that I need to move up to the Signa S2 with the HDMI ARC control. Also, the additional sub would be nice.

When it worked it sounded great. My parents fire TV needed better sound. You cannot use the fire TV remote to control the soundbar. If you leave the TV speakers on you can however the audio isn't synced so it sounds horrible. When you turn the fire TV speakers off the remote buttons for volume don't work. There's a message on the screen telling you the speakers are off. So while you can still turn the TV and soundbar on and off and mute the sound with the fire TV remote, you cannot adjust the volume. So my parents were ok with using both remotes until after a couple of days the soundbar remote wouldn't turn the volume down. Waiting for a replacement which is taking longer than expected due to Amazon's shipping issues. Not sure what they are exactly just know I've been having issues with Amazon saying something will be here today and it actually hasn't shipped yet. Called Polk audio and talked to tech support for troubleshooting and they determined the remote was the issue but now the buttons on the soundbar don't all work.

The speaker quality if pretty decent. I am a big fan of Polk speakers. However, the remote they give you is a toy and has not worked since day one. Volume control is pretty clunky as you have to choose from optical and bluetooth. I find that the sound setting is too low so when I get up to turn on the soundbar, I need to click yes to output sound from the TV and then press up the volume a bunch of times before sitting back down. This needs to be done every time as the volume resets to a lower setting when turned back on. Overall I would not recommend compared to all the HDMI ARC units out there that dont have these problems. I just use the TV volume to avoid the hassle.

Easy set up and it has a quality feel to it. Decent appearance but the tiny illuminated light was a bothersome indicator at first. The ascetics are oK but the sound from my point of view is not good. Almost sent it back but my thirty day return window had expired. There is very little audible base. Sounds tinny at times. The adjustments don't improve the lack of base. My hearing is excellent. I am now using it to maximize voice audio when the music and voice sounds are poorly recorded. Overall impression is, if I had to do it over, I would want a sound bar with more base. No recommendation up or down.

Fantastic Product

i was looking for a quality sound bar for my home, my requirements were crystal clear sound clarity with more preference to the dialogues of the movie or series, i was looking for the bose sound bar and came to know about polk sound bar, after bit of research i gave a go with the polk sound bar, needless to say buying the polk signa solo is the best decision, i am bowled over by the amazing sound quality, connects with bluetooth, aux, optical cable, build quality is worth for this pricing, coming to the speaker quality, the voice are clear and so for the background music, there is even a night mode which signifies the dialogue and eliminates the background score for a minimal. overall i recommend the product; a must buy if you are looking for a premium sound bar with a crystal clear sound output.

Waste of 11k and Customer insensitive Amazon India

- With AUX the quality is not worth 11k - Remote included is not working - Fishy packing with no original manufacturer tape but normal cello-tape - I have been duped just with difference in product name: Its a soundbar but they just wrote HomeTheatre next to it - Now they say cant return as its not a Speaker (and how they tell difference between 2 is that speaker have Bluetooth.. ohh yes this also has bluetooth) - I researched more and on many other soundbars its written as Speaker - Amazon is useless with its Prime services their customer support is rude and insesitive - This prod doesnt lives up to expectation for a normal size living room also - Forget 10X bass it performs wworse than my 5 years old Sony 2.1 channel music system - Only Optical cable included in package (which is useless for me with no Optical port on TV)

Great sound quality

I got this soundbar during sale for Rs 9000/- and I've been using it for around a month. I'm pairing this with TCL LED TV and it is a significant upgrade from the in-built TV speakers. I was particular with soundbar without sub-woofer mainly due to space constraints and to avoid extra wirings and fittings. There are few options for a standalone soundbars with a varying price range but I finally decided on Polk signa solo mainly based on brand reputation, and my prior experience with Polk car speakers. Coming to the soundbar, I'm quite happy with this product. Here are few Pros and Cons. Pros: 1. Sound quality is quite impressive when using optical connectivity. It produces crisp vocals, with enough bass and mid-range. It simulates theatrical sound experience. 2. It has a Bass and vocals controller, and the bass controller in particular is quite effective. 3. Built quality is quite solid. The plastics doesn't feel cheap. 4. It doesn't override the inbuilt TV audio, meaning the sound from both the TV and soundbar will be audible at the same time,. But this means you need to control the volume for both TV and soundbar. Cons: 1. It doesn't have HDMI (ARC) connectivity. Even entry level soundbars come with HDMI (ARC) these days. But the main advantage of HDMI (ARC) is when setting up multiple channels for surround sound, and this soundbar being a standalone I feel it doesn't really matter. 2. The remote controller is quite small and flimsy. It could easily be misplaced or lost. And most of the key controls like bass, vocals, presets equalizers can be controlled only through remote. 3. The volume when connected via 3.5mm AUX cable is quite low, nowhere near optical. 4. There is a latency issue (or delay) when connected through bluetooth. I would not recommend using bluetooth connectivity when watching movies or videos. It will work fine for music though. 5. The price is a little high compared to other models with similar specs and functions, even after discount. If you look at the pros and cons, there are more points for cons, but there is a workaround for most of them or they really are not deal breakers. My main concern though is the flimsy remote controller. But overall I'm quite happy with this product and I would recommend it.

Sounds good..

Compact and good sound for a small room. Bass is decent but will distort if the volume is raised to the max. For best results keep the input volume at a lower range.

DONT EVER BUY POLK PRODUCTS

God help you if you have an issue with the product like i had. The service is pathetic here in Chennai IS BY Pro-Fx, product repair estimate takes 15 days to be given and then if approved by you, takes another 10-15 days to repair. excuse given, only 1 technician for whole of Chennai. what a pathetic company. So dont waste your money there are other brands better and more customer friendly.

The Polk Signa Solo is a crazily inexpensive sound bar, but does it trade off performance in the process?

Ty Pendlebury is a journalism graduate of RMIT Melbourne, and has worked at CNET since 2006. He lives in New York City where he writes about streaming and home audio.
So you're sick of listening to your crappy TV speakers, but don't want to spend a fortune on a separate audio system. Can you afford 200 bucks? $150? How about $130?
The Polk Signa Solo ($129/£149) is the cheapest sound bar we've ever seen in the CNET office. Unfortunately for the Solo, however, the standard of entry-level TV speakers has truly been raised thanks to Polk's own Signa S1 and the incomparable Vizio SB3621N-E8 , which both cost just a few bucks more.
They both include subwoofers, and that's a big reason why the Solo doesn't sound as good as either one. Sure, it makes TV louder, and it has all the connectivity you need, but with two brilliant sound bars competing directly against it, the Solo doesn't make as much sense without a price cut. If the Solo was available for $99/£99, it would be much more recommendable to people who want an ultracheap sound bar but don't want a sub.
The Signa Solo is a sound bar stripped to its barest essence with just two inputs (3.5mm and digital optica
