SignPDF helps you add visual signatures to PDF files in Google Chrome. This policy describes what data the Extension uses and how it is handled.

No account registration is required. PDF files and signatures are processed on your device. We do not operate a backend server. We do not sell your personal data.

DATA STORED ON YOUR DEVICE

The Extension uses Chrome's local storage (chrome.storage) to save up to 10 signature images you create or upload, and temporary session data while you edit a PDF. You can remove saved signatures inside the Extension. Uninstalling removes all stored data.

PDF CONTENT

When you open a PDF, the file is read in your browser. For Gmail attachments, the Extension fetches the file using your existing Google session — that request goes directly between your browser and Google, not to SignPDF servers (we do not run such servers).

PERMISSIONS

storage — save signatures and session state locally.

tabs / scripting — show the Sign PDF button on PDF pages and Gmail, and open the editor.

host access — work on PDF pages you open and on mail.google.com.

OPTIONAL BACKGROUND REMOVAL

Smart cutout processing runs locally in the browser. The library may download ML model files from its CDN on first use; those downloads do not include your PDF documents.

WHAT WE DO NOT COLLECT

No analytics or advertising IDs. No email, name, or payment data (the Extension is free). No upload of your PDFs to our servers.

THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

The Extension interacts with websites you choose (Gmail, PDF hosts). Their privacy policies apply. Distribution through Chrome Web Store is subject to Google's policies.

LEGAL NOTICE

SignPDF adds visual signatures only. It is not a qualified electronic signature under eIDAS or similar regulations.

CHANGES

We may update this policy. The date at the top will change when we do.
