has the removal of red shell been confirmed? and has there been an official statment about other spyware going foward ? I'm looking foward to buying civ 6, I hope during this sale. but I can wait longer, once (a few times actualy) bit much shy.

RedShell was never in Civ5, and its removal from Civ6 was confirmed as best as possible - the devs said it was removed, and people inspecting its network traffic found nothing untoward.

... "if that's the best they can do"? How much better can they do than having never put it in to begin with? What, were you expecting them to issue a patch that rewrites the timeline to stop RS from ever existing?

I honestly dont care if they got caught and removed it, it is the fact they they put it in in the first place. Never buying another Firaxis game.

it is not the sale of info, it is the breach of trust. what i want is a clear statment that this is not ok, and that it will not happen again. 'red shell removed' is nice. but it dose not adress the breach of trust. ah ok, i see my error there. this is the wrong forum. anyways the only thing missing here for me is the lack of official statment about civ 6. it has been widely reported that it (red shell) was in civ 6. and i can not find any official statment, either denial, or appology. in this lack of maturity on behalf of firaxis, all i have is doubt.i am activly looking for a reason to take them off the ♥♥♥♥ list, i want to buy and play their game. i am here with questions, intrest AND money. money i want to give them for a good game.

I would also like to know why there is no official statement from Firaxis regarding red shell. You can see in this article that it says that it collects data on "players with Red Shell installed on their games visited a market’s campaign, whether Facebook and Twitter, YouTube, a web page or others." Source: https://www.polygon.com/2018/6/20/17485762/red-shell-spyware-pc-games-controversy-steam . How is finding out what websites I visit not collecting MY PERSONAL INFORMATION???? So please tell me Firaxis on how you seeing if I went to youtube, reddit, or even porn sites is any of your business depending on if you had a marketing campaign there. I smell a HUGE class action lawsuit cooking.
