Porn Star Olivia Nova Died, Fourth in Two Months

A porn star was found dead in her home mere days after tweeting about spending the holidays by herself, adding to the string of deaths in the industry over the past two months.

The porn actress, real name Lexi Forte, was represented by LA Direct Models and had only recently started in the industry in March 2017. The cause of her death has yet to be determined.
“While only represented by Direct Models for a short period of time, we came to know Olivia as a beautiful girl with a very sweet and gentle personality,” a representative from LA Direct Models said . “Another one, way too young we are beyond shocked and most certainly, completely out of the blue. Rest in peace, sweet angel.”
Tila Tequila, who has consistently let the world know she is a born-again Christian, seemed to take credit for Nova’s death.
“I literally just spent a prayer session TARGETING the porn industry and I prayed that these porn stars will all fall extremely ill with infirmities, and start to die off so that everyone will flee from this industry never again to return!! Then soon after I see in the news that a porn star died suddenly!!!” she wrote in a Facebook post the day after Nova’s mysterious death.
Nova isn't the only actress in the porn industry to pass away recently . August Ames, Yurizan Beltran, and Shyla Stylez, all well-known adult film stars, died in the last two months.
Ames, or Mercedes Grabowski, hanged herself in a park near her home Dec. 6 and left a note in her car apologizing for her death. She killed herself just after she was criticized for refusing to do a scene with a man who had previously shot gay porn.
The 23-year-old left behind husband Kevin Moore, who said, "She was the kindest person I ever knew and she meant the world to me.”
Beltran, a.k.a. Yuri Luv, 31, died of an alleged drug overdose just a week after Ames’ suicide.
“She was discovered by the owner of the house where she was living in Bellflower, CA,” said Nickey Milo, a close friend of the actress who worked with her for PornStar Platinum. “There were pills found near the bed.”
Stylez, whose real name was Amanda Friedland, reportedly passed away in her sleep Nov.9. She was 35-year-old who had retired from the industry.
Fans are calling for actions after so many deaths of X-rated actresses in such a short period of time.
"One can only hope that this isn't the beginning of a trend. The industry has seen it before, but the hope was that better support mechanisms were in place for anyone needing them," tweeted a fan.
Another tweeted , "Another suicide in the porn industry. There should be some network setup to help get these people counseling if they need it."

Another porn star who worked in the US adult entertainment industry has been found dead.
Olivia Lua, 23, died in a rehab facility in West Hollywood on Friday morning.
The actress, who used the screen name Olivia Voltaire, is believed to have died from mixing prescription drugs and alcohol .
It is not known how she got the substances into the facility where she was being treated for addiction.
Her agency, LA Direct Models, confirmed her death to XBiz , the porn industry's news outlet, on Friday.
Olivia's death is the fifth in just six months across the US and Canada. Four other women have died from suicide, accidental overdose and UTIs.

In his statement, Derek Hay of L.A. Direct Models said Lua had been battling addiction for some time and was seeking help.
He said it was a 'coincidence' that the two most recent deaths were of women who belonged to L.A. Direct Models.
'Much comment has recently been made on the number of adult stars having passed in the last year and with great sadness we must inform that the list has grown longer.
'Olivia joined LA Direct Models in April 2017, though had not been available for work since early October of last year, as she had been facing some personal challenges that had seen her in residential rehab for a period of nearly three months and from which she had been out for about a month, hoping to make a return to work in the early part of this year.
'We learned today that she had returned to a different facility in West Hollywood after a relapse, approximately a week ago, at which she was found deceased this morning.
Lua had been seeking help for substance abuse problems. Before she died, she tweeted a final selfie (left) and said: 'No one alive can be an angel forever'
Olivia's agency said they were shocked by her death. She had not worked for some time due to her addiction problems
'Family and close friends [said] they had deep concern at the volume of prescription drugs prescribed to Olivia and the danger this posed [to] her. If this was mixed with recreational drugs or alcohol, it is believed this to be the cause of her passing,' he said.
Olivia Nova, who died in Las Vegas earlier this month aged 20 from sepsis that is believed to have been caused by a UTI, also worked for LA Direct Models.
Hay said it was merely a 'coincidence' that the two most recent deaths were of women who belonged to his agency.
'We at Direct Models obviously can barely believe we are issuing a notice such as this, not once but twice, in such a short space of time.
'The coincidence that both of these models chosen stage names is Olivia is solely that and they otherwise have no connection. We actually do not think they had ever met.'

Days before her death, Lua shared cryptic social media posts including one which read 'no one alive can be an angel forever'.
It is not clear if any of the five models who have died recently knew one another.
So far, there has been no proof of a link between any of their deaths beyond the fact that they were all porn stars.
The first death was that of 35-year-old Shyla Stylez. Stylez died in her sleep at her mother's home in Calgary on November 9. So far, no reason has been given for her death.
Stylez left the porn industry in 2016 after 10 years.
In December, actress August Ames, 23, hanged herself in California, where she lived with her husband.
What prompted her suicide remains unclear but in the days beforehand, she found herself in the center of a firestorm on Twitter after publicly saying that she had refused to work with a man she knew did both straight and gay scenes.

Ames' argument was that because the male actor worked with both men and women, he was more likely to have contracted STIs and she believed it put her at risk.
Days after Ames' death, 31-year-old Yurizan Beltran died of an apparent drug overdose at home in California. It is not known if the overdose was accidental or intentional.
On January 9, 20-year-old Olivia Nova died in her bed in Las Vegas.
The young actress had been tweeting about how she was alone for the holidays and wanted to call a fan to lift her mood.
At first, it was suspected that drugs or alcohol may have played a part in her death.
However police reports which have emerged recently suggest the woman was suffering from sepsis.
She had prescription medication given for a urinary tract infection at the home when she died, according to the report.

These five young women, all adult entertainment stars, have died in less than three months, rattling the industry and leaving the tight-knit porn community searching for answers.
Derek Hay of L.A. Direct Models, which represented both Lua and Nova, said it was a “coincidence” about the spate of deaths in such a short time, The Daily Mail reported.
However, some performers say many of these deaths could have been prevented with more safeguards in place to reduce whatever may trigger depression or drug abuse, including the stress associated with the job and attacks from online trolls.

Twenty-year-old Nova was found dead on Jan. 7 in Las Vegas.
Ames, 23, hanged herself in December after she was cyberbullied online and labeled homophobic for refusing to have sex on camera with men who had done gay porn.
According to The Mirror , Ames’ husband, Kevin Moore, told online haters they had “her blood on your hands” and that she had screenshotted every single abusive comment on her phone for him to find.

Adult performer Ginger Banks is calling for porn stars to understand their rights and mental health, according to The Mirror.
“The way society looks at and treats porn stars makes us more depressed, it is hard to feel like we don’t belong or that we are second-class citizens,” she told Hollywood Life . “I have suffered depression because of the way people view my job. That is the worst part of this job, the way people treat me because of what I do for a living.”

The industry sometimes attracts vulnerable people and the mental anguish from the downsides of the job can accelerate frustrations.
Adult actress Raven Hart told Hollywood Life: “If you get into this business really young, and you are already predisposed to your own personal issues of depression or whatever else, working in porn may intensify your issues, this is not a career for everyone. When you are younger you get taken advantage of more and if you don’t stand up for yourself or you don’t make it known that you are a professional, then these types of things can happen.”
Banks noted the deaths indeed were exacerbated by societal norms.
“We need to facilitate more networking and community for sex workers and entertainers, it is important so you don’t feel like you have a dirty secret,” Banks said, “so you have an outlet and maybe find a therapist who is OK with your job and who doesn’t make you feel ashamed for what you do.”
