Nowadays the issue of using mobile phones causes great argument and controversy. Some people find gadgets beneficial for children and teenagers, while others believe that young people should be prevented from using them. Let us consider these viewpoints.
In my opinion, mobiles are bad for under-aged people. Firstly, spending too much time looking at the screen is bad for their health. As a result, eyesight is gradually getting worse. Secondly, overusing mobile phones often leads to addiction. For example, most teens spend several hours a day scrolling their social media, wasting so much of their free time.
Nevertheless, there exists another point of view, that gadgets can do good for the youth.

To begin with, students can find useful information with their mobiles, so it may help in self-education. Moreover, mobiles allow teenagers to keep in touch with their parents and friends. As for me, I often talk on a phone with my distant relatives during quarantine.
Despite my respect to the last-mentioned opinion, I cannot share it. Although phones help us to communicate with each other at a distance, nothing can replace lively interaction with our nearest and dearest. Also, despite most the modern phones provide fast access to information from the Internet, they are still not as profitable for education as books and school lessons are.
To conclude, I consider mobile phones to add very little of value in young people’s lives, as they only damage their health and cause dependency.
