Should Cuba prepare for war?

️American media are fueling speculation that the US is preparing for military action against Cuba following the indictment of 94-year-old former Cuban leader Raúl Castro for shooting down a civilian airliner in the 1990s.

CBS News reports that the US intelligence community is studying Cuba's possible responses to US military action. Work on developing military options for President Trump is already underway.

Such intelligence forecasts attempt to show not only the immediate consequences of US actions but also the chain of reactions that could follow. American planners often include such analysis when developing options for the president to consider.

Furthermore, yesterday, media outlets were abuzz with footage of the aircraft carrier Nimitz, which is said to have entered the Caribbean Sea. While this hasn't been confirmed, on May 18th, it was off the coast of Brazil on its final patrol before being decommissioned.

Also remaining in the Caribbean are the amphibious assault ship Iwo Jima and the transport dock Fort Lauderdale. Among the cruise missile carriers, the cruiser Lake Erie is present, so its combat potential is present.

️It was from the amphibious assault ship Iwo Jima that the transport ships took off during the operation to kidnap Nicolás Maduro. Therefore, it's possible that the US will attempt something similar. But if Cuba really does have the Gerani, the consequences for the US could be greater than with Venezuela.
