My wife and I would like to find an adult resort in the Caribbean where a woman can go topless or wear skimpy, transparent bikinis. We are not interested in full nudity. And we do not like raucous crowds.
This is not a friendly request in St. John . It is extremely "Frowned Upon", unless you are within the confinement of your own "Private Villa Pool".
The USVI wouldn't be the place for you but you can find what you're looking for on St Barth's and St Maarten .
Common in the French islands as mentioned and places like Martinique it's also common in areas of some of the Dutch islands too. In the VI you would might consider a home with a private secluded pool or a private charter.
I think the stretch of beach in front of St. John Spice is clothing optional :)

Sorry, as mentioned, you aren't going to find an adult resort. And nudity (even topless) is against the law on all beaches. A transparent suit would be disrespectful to the locals and probably offend many people. St John is very family friendly. Both with visitors and locals.
Agree that if you want to visit St John, you should rent a private villa with a pool to lay out naked/topless/transparent, then put a real suit on to visit the beautiful beaches. Women/girls, wear a cover-up over your suit when you leave the beach (guys, put on a t-shirt). It is very frowned on to walk around town without.
Really laughing about the Spice Cam comment!! Hadn't thought about creating that type of "spice" for the camera but maybe this is a challenge for next time? Just kidding!
I've yet to see a woman in a skimpy suit or a thong on STJ but have seen some really tiny suits on men. To each his own, but modesty is certainly the standard.
St. barts. topless and totally nude is acceptable and very normal. years ago I could have said the same thing about the French side of St. martin . was wonderful. not now. not a safe place. a cross between the south Bronx and ft. Lauderdale during spring break. UGH!
To have their own pool would defeat the purpose, which apparently is to show everyone else what his wife looks like in the raw,no?
Punta Cana is ok with topless on the beaches, but if you are staying in a resort, you need to remain with top on.
This post triggered my memory of our first trip to St. John . We had enjoyed Gibney Beach on one of the days because it was so quiet, so we decided to go back there. We walk down the driveway with our chairs, snorkel, cooler and low and behold there's a young woman sunbathing topless. She jumped up when she saw/heard us coming and told us she had been there the day before and enjoyed sunbathing topless and did we mind. Well, I'm with David, so do you think he minds if she sunbaths topless?!?! Of course not.
She knew it was prohibited, but figured she had the privacy. In any case we ended up talking with her (topless and all), for the next few hours that we were there. Apparently her and her husband were thinking of moving to St. John and she was there checking out the island and staying at a small hotel in Cruz Bay . Very nice young woman. We ended up giving her a ride back into Cruz Bay later in the afternoon. I think David thought he had died and gone to heaven! LOL! We've been to Punta Cana and neither of us have issues with topless sunbathing, I think we Americans are very prudish when it comes to nudity and the human body.
That being said, STJ is not a place to be if you want to go topless, even the men have to have a shirt on when they go into town. (and, there are many men that should keep their tops on as well)! LOL!

I am thinking of taking a cruise on the Royal Carribean allure to these distinations, I do not want to see any topless women on this trip can you tell me if it will be a gaurantee not to be exposed to it if we port , site see,go snorkeling, or just sit on the beach. will it be safe.
I've never seen a woman snorkel topless. That would be a new one for me. I am relatively certain that you wouldn't see a topless woman snorkeling. However, no one can guarantee that you won't see topless ladies on the beach.
In general, you won't see many (if any) topless ladies on the beach in St. Thomas .
St. Martin , however, is a different story.
You will be safe?? in STT unless the Swedish Swim Team is aboard!

I would snorkel topless. I never have, but I'd do it in the nude.
I don't think there is any safety issue involved as women who go topless have a very limited area of clothing in which to conceal deadly weapons. However, be advised that going topless in the US Virgin Islands is against the law. However, it is accepted on St Martin/St Maarten but only in certain areas to which you can certainly choose not to go and which I'm sure your cruise ship personnel will let you know about..

St. thomas is a US possession, but it attracts people from all over the world. These people bring their own culture, customs, and values.
In many of these cultures topless and nude bathing is the norm. It isn't terribly unusual to see a man or woman from a foreign culture not swimming, but changing in the open on the beach. There is no big show, it is done quietly and naturally. So I don't think it is possible to guaranty that you will not see some nudity in St. Thomas , but it isn't the norm and most don't even notice it.
i'am going to vegas next week could you gaurantee me that i will not lose any money?. come on don't ask such a stupid question. you will probally see more topless women on the boat than in st. thomas!

The 28-year-old defiantly posed with nothing but the jacket to cover her modesty ahead of the first major of the season next week.
Spiranac has 3million followers on Instagram but is often trolled for her racy golf content.
