If you like Sylvester Stallone and James Woods this movie is not a complete waste of time. But I cannot believe anyone would rate it more than three stars. The plot is silly, in fact, the entire movie is silly. Well acted, but silly. Lots of mindless violence, but that is about it. Of course, Sharon Stone is nice to look at, but....... For me, it was a wasted evening. And I like all three main actors.

Although this is not a great movie, it is outstanding, nonetheless. The complex plot kept me guessing and that was very satisfying. The performances of all the characters was very good. I especially liked James Wood's losing his temper in the operations center that was trying to track down Sylvester Stallone. One of his best chracterizations: On another occasion he has a great line: "You were the rigger and I was the trigger." Sharon Stone was wonderful as the femme fatale. Rod Steiger was a suburb mafia boss. I love this movie. Bryce

I ordered The Specialist on Sunday, December 6. First of all, as a Prime member i do not expect to have to pay extra for movies that are made in 1994; but what was even more disconcerting was that the movie would not load. I tried all of the "suggestions" on the Amazon web site and on my computer and it still would not load. So I was basically charged $2.99 for a movie that I was not able to watch.

I rented the specialist and did not download it. I was watching it when the hurricane came through and the power went off. I had 32 minutes left on the movie. When I went to work two days later I thought about downloading it and watching the rest when I got back home. When I tried to watch it at home after downloading it at work it said I had exceeded my 48 hours. I would like to see the last 32 minutes. Can you help?

It's not a terrible plot concept, but the execution is so cheap-looking. Some of the shots look like they were set up by film school undergrads and the scenes where Stallone is listening to recorded conversations with Sharon Stone are flat-out hokey. The climax of the film (pun intended) was the too-long, over-stylized Stallone/Stone sex scene, on which the producers clearly blew most of their budget. Wasn't worth it, guys. I love bad action films, but this one is so bad it's almost unwatchable.

Great movie tons of action. I really like this movie because it's just nonstop action and it's very well done there are a few small gaps that don't make sense to me but overall it was an excellent movie with tons of action and Stallone at his best best

Sharon Stone rang director Mark Rydell repeatedly, begging for a part in the film. Rydell automatically assumed that she was after the part of the mistress, and was quite surprised when Stone revealed that she wanted to play the frigid wife.

This is a good movie. Although I must admit sometimes it's a bit slow. I've seen it at least twice, and both times it mediated a special feeling that moved me. The five main reasons why I liked this movie, are (not listed in any particular order): 1. Richard Gere - He doesn't give a great performance, but hey ! It's Richard Gere, and I really like him. 2. Sharon Stone - On the other hand gives a great performance. I've never seen her this good. 3. James Newton Howards fantastic score. The music over the final scenes and the ending credits is so beautiful and emotional, that it can make me cry everytime that I listen to it. The score enhances and puts an emphasis on the developments in the movie in an extraordinary way. 4. The script - Although it's not that tight, it's still well written, with likeable characters and a good message. 5. The feeling that this movie mediates, through the above mentioned reason, and lots more. In conclusion: I recommend this film. It will probably not be the best movie you've ever seen, but well worth your time. And as I said, it has a good message.
